I always wondered if anyone has the belts used in the commercial for the original figures? I remember that standing out as a kid and then getting the gold rubber ones with the black letters WCW.

I had sting with the gold one. I had the WWF figures but I liked Sting.

They were well made and very accurate, even as a kid I appreciated them because you knew that had little chance of breakage.
Just a shame that some of the big names between 1992/1994 never got a release.
I mean where were Van Vader, Stunning Steve Austin, Rick Rude, Ricky Steamboat, Bobby Eaton from Dangerous Alliance??

Why would a company make Wrestling figures with no articulation? To make it worse, I wrote to Galoob Toys, proposing the Idea of getting the Wwf license after Hasbro ended. They would've had both licenses at the time. All they had to do was improve the articulation. The representative wrote me back saying" We appreciate your interest in AWA wrestling figures. That idea is obsolete." They're now out of business, & the wrestling figure business is BIG Business. I guess he didn't know.

I wouldn’t call them a competitor because it never made it past series 1 in the US due to very poor sales. However they were a comparative product

I had sting . I had the WWF figures and Ring but never saw a WCW Ring. I would have wanted that one also. I remember when they came out with the King of the Ring ring. I had that one also . Always wanted something to make a cage with.
