You obviously haven't been to the Colorado springs military museum it would blow your mind it's got things that no other museum or even allowed to have.
@@HistorySavior1941 You would not be disappointed. I went a year ago and it blew my mind. I didn't know things like that still exists. I mean I've been two other military museums before. None of them even came close to the Colorado springs military. It's amazing.
My Dad had aquired a Japanese soldier's suitcase containing a few letters and photos among some personal items that were left behind in their cave in what must have been a hastey retreat. In 2005 I located an organization in Japan that facilitated the return of these war souvenirs to the original owners.or their families. My father returned the letters and what turned out to be photos of the soldier's mother, father, and brother. Sadly, he did not survive the war, but his brother and niece were still alive and very moved to be reunited with these memories of their long passed brother and uncle.
I love unboxing episodes!!! These are true history items, and its fun to see these items. It also helps the gravity of the horror of WWII feel real to us today in this day and age. Thanks J.D and Eric, you guys reign supreme as History teachers!!!
This is one of my absolute favorite channels. Always look forward to the videos. Especially unboxing videos. Love seeing the history. My dream is to one day visit the museum
@@TheHistoryUnderground thank you. I live on disability. So sometimes don’t get to do a lot. But your channel gives me the chance to see things I would love to see. But may never get the chance. So it is I who thank you for everything you do.
Great episode JD! I really NEED to come and visit the museum as the collection there looks utterly incredible! Thanks for the work you and Erik do to document these artefacts!
Great JD of these artifacts. And Erik does an awesome job with these. I had a WW2 a Helmet from the Luftwafa Air Force. Sold in an Estate sale when I moved. Regretting it ever since. Seeing these things. Just makes me want to get it back. Never will happen. Thanks for the history behind your items! ❤️👍👊
Fun fact Lemmy from Motorhead had a big collection of Nazi artefacts and uniforms .He was accused of being a nazi sympathiser .He simply said he like them simply because of the great quality and fascination .Sad he is gone it had been so cool if he had been in an episode on your channel. 🙂
Wow I would love to have all the items from the very 1 war to the last war. to me the price man paid to get us here today is so priceless they paid with there blood to let us be free here in USA. Thank you for Unboxing the past Love em ashtrays not that one anyways thank you for sharing the treasures of yesteryear.
You really need to go check out the biggest war museum in America. The Colorado springs military museum has everything from the revolutionary war all the way up to desert Storm. Everything you can imagine is in this museum. You really need to go check it out. It's got things from world war II from the Nazis that no other museum has. Please go check it out. I think we all would love to see you go there for your channel. Thanks for what you do and keep up the good work. ✌️
It's astonishing that you keep collecting, yet most Americans I meet know very little about WWII and the Holocaust. However for the dogmarks and sold books they should be shipped back to Germany, because the German archives needs them to track down who died and stuff. All of this is stored in a national archive for reasons.
@@TheHistoryUnderground it was ok, but used the F word and had nudity and sex, absolutely not necessary to tell the story. I was disappointed in that. As for the history, they did pretty well I think. But seriously didn’t need the nudity to tell the story, there was plenty of that! 😢
I wanna thank you and youre team for your work. It is very important to safe all of these parts, for the next generations. Not only in the US, also in Germany. US Soldiers bring These stuff home, but in Germany everything is destroyed or in private hands.
About that train eagle, the signs/letters in the lower center are not from the manufacturer, but RZA 4 Bln means Reichsbahnzentralamt Berlin, being responsible for development, procurement and technical documentation.
JD: have you ever visited the 1st Division Museum at Cantigny Park Winfield Il? It is extensive and impressive...also Colonel Robert R. McCormick's Mansion makes a great tour...He led the 1st in battle in the Argonne Offensive...St. Mihiel, Cantigny...good stuff.
In regards to the American soldier who brought Nazi items home from the war. I believe warriors through out history have done this, one example would be the Native Americans who always kept items they found on there conquered enemies.
My granddad’s brother fought in WWll, he had brought back several things he had taken off of Nazi’s which included a couple of pistols, rifle with bayonet, a swastika flag among other things. The only remaining items that are left are 5 photographs that I have only because he gave them to me in 1982 for a 5th grade book report I was doing. Once he passed, his wife’s brother come in and cleaned out everything before the items went to my granddad per his will. It’s truly sad what greed does to people because all our family wanted was to persevere everything so it could be handed down through generations as to not be forgotten the atrocities that happened and all of the sacrifices.
I'm having a hard time keeping up with you. One video you're at the Gettysburg celebration. Next video you're in Greece. The next video your back in Gettysburg. You're keeping Scotty busy with the Transporter!
I attend a lot of these shows and I have a few very rare and troubling pieces but these Railway Eagles, you see them all the time. Every show someone is selling there's. I have a collection that has an SS honor dagger, SS honor ring, all the paper work, and various daggers, helmets. Also have a larger 150+ bronze bust of you know who, a few flags, several arm bands, ash trays, dedicated cigarette cases, silverware, etc etc, looking to get out of the hobby. My favorite pieces is the flight log book for a German WW2 ace, his paperwork, some of his medals and a leather helmet ( not his ) but one that he might have worn. Also have a few ( 3 ) instrument panel gauges from a FW-190. One is brand new in the box that I bought off eBay 12 - 13 years ago for $200+. I think it should be worth much much more but maybe not.
I find it kinda funny that at the beginning: Germany was making all of these frivolous things and by the end of the war, they basically hollowed out a branch and threw a KAR98 action in it.
Hello I’ve been watching yours videos new and old and really enjoy them But I want to ask a question have you ever gone to the Nimy bridge where a ww1 battle was fought it was the battle of mons
@@TheHistoryUnderground I hope that you would get a chance and be interested in going out to check that out cause I hear that that’s where some of the first Victoria crosses were given out especially for this one guy Sydney Godley who held the Germans back so that his platoon could get away he was eventually injured, and stayed the duration of the war in a prisoner of war camp
I live about an hour and a half south of Gettysburg and am making plans to visit this museum in the near future. I have a few items left to me by my great uncle from the war including a 1920 Luger, a Nazi banner, and an SS handbook. I’m wondering if they’d be willing to look at the banner at least to confirm it’s authenticity, I’d be curious on what an expert would say about them.
Hello guys. Really Nice videos. Im Just wanted to ask. In the very beginniing you film a Rifle with scope on it. Can I ask wich model This is or type please.
I recently went to Nashville to Antique Archaeology, they had few things that were purchased from the actual show. Most items were just store items. A lot of the items that were for sale was WAY over priced. Are your items that way?
It's like Christmas morning for history buffs lol. Love the box of medals. Un opened and untouched. Like a time capsule
👍🏻
My exact thoughts
So glad I was finally able to visit this museum. I have NEVER seen another museum as cool as this one! The place is absolutely amazing!
Pretty wild.
It indeed is! I could spend days upon days in that place.

Going to have to check that one out for sure. I have never actually been to Colorado. That would be awesome to get to see.
