@@Ztheepicgamer I personally loved that you left in your flubs and mistakes. Many would've edited them out, done extra takes, etc. Very endearing and stuff. I'm sure some trash mongers out there would call it lazy. They don't belong here. Keep doin' the UA-cam thing, lil' brother. And whatever some people might say, don't let any of it discourage you. You're already cooler than me. That might not be hard, but even a low bar is still a bar.
Alright, I'll admit I was sceptical hearing a kids voice, but little bro you have knocked it out of the park. Every point was bang on and highlighting the balance of knowledge between the characters, and the communication of that knowledge was not something I had fully picked up on watching the movie. Keep it up bro, subbed.
A few stumbles here and there with the script but you clearly put your heart into this video. Keep it up. Dont let the haters keep you down. With each video you will get a little bit better. I cant wait to check back up on this channel in a few weeks and see how you have grown.
I’d love to see thanos actually overpower the Asgardians’ ship and crew but I doubt we ever will. It’s still a good scene though, definitely a good tone to start off on
I don't want that at ALL! It was a senseless slaughter of civilians. I was almost unable to watch it as it was. There was 0 need for that. It really sets the tone and impresses on the viewers that he is a cruel, ruthless despot.
You picked the scene that's hardest for me to watch as your favourite? Bold move. You're so right that the first 10 mins illustrates the mood for the entire movie too. Love that you kept in all yourr little bloopers, it's really funny!
I can hear the English class formula this kid is using in his script and i appreciate it. Keep at it kid. I am expecting big things from you in the future.
a genuinely good essay i wasn't expecting on this playlist. a bit more confidence in your words, less stuttering, and you could have a really nice series of video essays
Your title should have been "Setting the _Stone_ " ;D xD All jokes aside, I really enjoyed the video and I think it's a worthy addition to the One Marvelous Scene playlist!
Excellent job. Great choice of images to accompany the points you're speaking on. You also obviously focused a lot in a short period of time to turn out a script full of facts and analysis. Yoy should be really proud of yourself. Keep this up.
You are the only young kid I have found so far that has actually made a good well thought out video on practically any topic. Consider me impressed and I hope as time passes you improve your video making skills.
@@Ztheepicgamer no problem! Keep at this, you clearly have a understanding of film, if I could give one critique though, it would be to give your script a couple more reads out loud so it flows a bit easier
Hey, just wanted to add my voice to the others and say good job! It's really heartwarming to see a younger person do a video essay like this. You're learning a lot of skills that will carry you well into your future. Keep learning, analyzing, and improving!
Honestly kid you’re great at doing a video essay. You aren’t yet perfect and have a lot to learn, but your style is unique and engaging, and your focus is at the ideal level, no distractions, but plenty of context. I didn’t expect much from the ‘gamers intro’ however you proved me wrong, I think I may be coming back if you ever release further video essays. Have a nice day
I love this video. Great job. Don't quit. One point of note, however, Hulk isn't scared of Thanos. He's been beaten before. Loss doesn't deter him. Hulk's problem in Infinity war is his lack of wanting to be Bruce Banners gun against Thanos. Hulk's had a taste of freedom and is tired of being pointed at danger and told to "sic 'em, boy". Hulk is probably at his angriest in Infinity War because Banner took away his happy life in Thor Ragnarok. Hulk's refusal to join the battle is one of anger, not fear. But don't let this deter you from continuing to make video essays. You have a knack for it. Just make sure you research well enough to be proud of what you make.
I remember describing this scene to my friend with one word, cold. Unlike every other opening to a marvel film that’s some what warm and hopeful this one is pure ice and captures the concept of loss perfectly
Not sure what else I can add to the positivity that people have already left on your video, Zed, but I gotta throw some respect on your video. Great job man, I found your audio flubs endearing because like any good Marvel movie, you rolled with the punches and found a laugh or two. Good on you. And your passion and insight was great to listen to. Great photo stills and grasp of the story. Thanks for adding your video to this awesome, awesome video project. You've inspired me. Not sure if adult life will let me do one of these any time soon, but this put a big smile on my face. Keep doing what you're doing and I hope this was fun for you to make. And whenever you get around to seeing it enjoy Avengers End Game, Zed!
Great pick for your scene to review. This scene really is our generations version of the opening scene in Star Wars: A New Hope; ominous, large-scale, and iconic. Compare Thanos beating the Hulk to the Star Destroyer slowly moving across the screen, it sets the tone of the movie and how much our heroes have to overcome. Great job and you should definitely continue making similar videos! Frankly, you did a much better job than a lot of channels I have scene with more subscribers, and who are much older, so you should be proud! Great addition to a great playlist and I can't wait to see you get even better and grow your channel!
I uh... I can't believe I never put together that the reason Hulk was refusing to come out was because he was defeated more definitively than he ever had before. Huh. Looking forward to your next video.
It was a perfectly reasonable line of thought and pretty much what we all thought until the Russos clarified their intentions. And to be fair, they really didn't make it clear in the movie, or else they wouldn't have had to explain it. The apparent canon reason is because the Hulk got tired of Banner using him like a tool, just calling him out to fight and then putting him back in a box. But personally I think that comes out of nowhere and makes less sense even if the Russos say it's the actual reason. After all, he's been used for fights tons of times before, why didn't he get fed up sooner? But then again, it seems at the end of Thor: Ragnarok that Hulk let Banner back in control after the final fight of that movie, and without Natasha there it was likely a willing transformation, so why did he get fed up at all. ...IDK
I see you already got a lot of praise from everyone in this comment section but I can't help but join in. Joining a project like this at such a young age takes guts. Not to mention the great breakdown of one of my personal favourites. You got my admiration now kid.
First, really enjoyed the video. Good job. Second, I really was shocked when I saw this scene in theaters. Out of all the stones, I thought this one was safe because Thor and hulk were protecting it together, and that immediately went out the window as I watched Thor dragged by thanks and used as a hostage. This scene did such a great job at not just setting the tone, but establishing thanos. Right off the bat, we realize what is really at stake. Keep up the good work.
Absolutely everything about this scene is *golden,* for all the reasons you’ve given and more. The utilization of every character is perfect, especially Loki. This whole sequence is basically a highlight reel for all the ways Loki has grown but also stayed the same across this franchise, and the way both he and Hulk are effortlessly dwarfed in terms of physical and emotional intimidation by Thanos. Excellently done, dude. Tiny bit of constructive criticism: go back through to make sure you catch and edit out flubbed/redone lines. It’s better for scripted videos.
I'd also add to try and not sound like you're reading a script. One way to do this is to read it over a few times to get the words in your brain and get your body used to saying the words. When your brain and mouth are familiar to the words, you can then put a bit more focus on emotion/making it sound more natural. Of course, this is generally only really accomplished with experience/practice, which I encourage. Keep it up. Practice makes...better. Thinking oneself perfect is a bad pitfall, especially for an artist/creator.
i think what also sets the tome of this scene is how much of a threat thanos is and which i love i dont see it that much in movies these days, here it feels very earned
This was really well done! And I completely agree; what a way to set up Thanos and the movie. And while there were plenty of jokes and lighter moments in Infinity War, I kept thinking back to this, to Loki's death, as it hung over the rest of the movie like a shadow even if no actual sadness was present in the scenes. I'm gonna miss the slippery bastard. :')
Dude, this is really good!! I can tell you put alot of thought into this and that's something I can't argue against, great job!! Keep up the good work!
What a well presented essay. This is one of my favorite scenes as well. It really does a brilliant job in setting the tone for the film and what we can expect going forth. In a way, it IS the movie. There's tragedy, attempts at levity, brief moments of hopeful triumph, heroism, self sacrifice... but alas, it doesn't end well for our heroes. From this scene alone, you know just how the movie will go. Great analysis
You’re so articulate, dude. I’m super impressed. Also it’s awesome that you put this much thought into analyzing your favorite stories and movies. Great work, my man

You forgot to mention that Thanos effortlessly crushes the Tesseract with one single, bare hand. The Tesseract was the main mcguffin for several Marvel movies and destroying it further sets the tone for the film as a whole by symbolizing how different things are going to turn out.
What really struck me about Thanos' reveal on the Ark was that you look at him, and you don't see Thor literally at his feet. You barely even see Thanos, because he's concealed in shadow, and a lens flare. We're so intent on him stepping forward (With his Herald heralding Him) that when he reaches down to pick up a limp body, there's a moment where we're like "OMG, that's Thor!" Reduced to a prop, just lying there in the background pretty much like he is for the rest of the scene. He's helpless. A god is a helpless spectator in this massacre, and through him, so are we. Even before curbstomping Hulk, this established Thanos as the central focus of this movie, because he discards the protagonist of the previous movie, as an afterthought. HE is here, and all else is insignificant.
this video made me realize a bit more about how Thanos sees the world. As you said, the Black Order speak about how lucky the Asgardians were to be relieved from life by Thanos, and that implies how Thanos sees life as a burden put upon every living thing
I know you’re just starting out. Solid job, you conveyed your point well and I understood what you explained and how this scene set the tone. Keep it up!
