Pretty stupid they sell at those prices. I'd love to get a T16 with the rally-strength chassis, AWD and handling but without the weak road-version engine. Then bring in a modern 300+ hp engine, drool. They should make these cars sans the road-engine and just sell that to enthusiasts, I really wont care if its a replica. Bet those could be sold for £8-10.
I love how they use the 205 in evey form when it comes to promote every "sporty" coupeish shitty new peugeot... Peugeot stopped building driver's cars with the 306gti!
+costasgt Thats where you prove your ignorance. 208 gti by Peugeot Sport? Rcz-R? 308gti? 308-R? They know how to build tough sports cars, they won the 2016 Rally Dakar! Thats as tough as it gets. And they smashed the Pikes Peak record. And they're good in Rallycross.
+Paul S. In the world of globalization and cross platforms across the industry it is getting harder to stand out. Peugeot chose to blend rather than differentiate. You're talking about rally specific cars that smash records and that's one thing (OXIA ring a bell?). As for modern cars take the fiesta ST that's a better hot hatch than any peugeot, that says it all, peugeot chose to play safe become more german and that's where they lost. Fun cheap cars belong to the past as a general but that's where french used toexcel. From a proud ex owner of a saxo vts...
We'll see. Peugeot can build really good sporty cars as well as cheaper mainstream models for the rough majority of people who want to get from A to B cheaply. Their diesels as pretty much the most economic on the market. And Peugeot often changes strategies quite quickly as history has shown. Like many manufacturers they sell cheap cars in large numbers to afford their concepts and rally/racing teams. Peugeot also doesn't have the same room for experimentation and financial safety as Ford. For the rest, if you talk about globalization, that is just inevitable.
