  • This is an even easier way to build a ramp for a dog, cat, or other small animal using a 2x6, or 2x8, or 2x10 depending on the width you're looking for. I happened to have a 2x6 so I went with that. You will need a couple of screws, remnant carpet, and a staple gun.. Oh, and a saw to cut the wood. Enjoy

I liked the video. I am also glad you left everything in the video including any mistakes or fails. You kept it real and this brought me comfort knowing things don't always go perfect in other peoples shops .

I'm glad you didn't remove the video like you were thinking. LOL. I wouldn't have thought of using carpet. I was thinking small slats across, but wasn't sold on the idea. Just didn't think of anything else.
My old cat has issues with the steep stairs in my ancient home. He often yells and grumbles at me the entire way up. 😂😂😂
I am going to try a ramp going up on one side of the stairs. I *think* he would use it.... LOL

does your dog use it? i just finished up building a similar ramp with 10" wide wood, my jack russell wants nothing to do with it lol. I think I'll have to redo mine to atleast double the width for her to trust it...

lol He does not. I found that if something is sturdy and basically non movable they may eventually use it after lots of training but I pretty much trashed it.. I thought I deleted this video but may will soon. Thanks for commenting

I built one for my cat. 40" inches off the ground. I thought it looked cool. It was for the deck and my cat is getting older so I thought it was a great idea. watched the cat on video look and smell it a few times and chose to jump. I had good intentions and cats will be cats. She walks around the house to the front door to get back in the house.
