My coach taught me this and it became my signature move in high school as not many people in my small state of RI knew about it at the time I guess. Got me to states and on the podium! Great showcase of how to execute it
I always loved 3/4nelson in wrestling, now i use it very effectivly to set up a darse choke in bjj, people dont use a lot of nelsons in bjj, which has made it easier, ive even tapped guys with a full nelson.
On the whistle, pinch from the top and butt them down. Hook the leg when the sit up and with left hand pull their head to their left shoulder. When they react to head pull, slip the right hand under and slowly drive forward. It they base up or bridge to block, switch off to a cradle since you already have the head. This move can be done very effectively if you set it up right. It’s a quick and easy pin.
As it relates to other forms of grappling (especially submission/catch wrestling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu) the 3/4 nelson is actually a very good way to set up great blood choke and positioning. In very casual grappling (me and the other guy have no shot in ever being pro. just a couple guys practicing @ a gym for fun), I've used nelsons to control the opponent and set up submissions/control pretty quick. Great video!
Arm chop off the whistle makes it easy to lace the leg.. head pressure as he bases back up to break his posture as you slip the arm through.. you have to break the posture if his head is up it won't work
Haha I know some good moves. I know several that practically garuntee my win. All I need to do is get the opening in te match for me to get the move in. That's the hard part. Yet my first pin (I'm still in my first year, and it was my first win period.) I used te crucifix.

When did they change it? I ref and still have kids trying to do the full. I ding it for an illegal hold and the coaches always argue with me, they think its still legal 🤷♂️

I enjoyed using the 3/4 on those guys who were getting tired. Most of them didn't see it coming
My first wrestling tournament I somehow escaped the 3/4 Nelson 3 times in my semi final match, messed up my neck for the day lol love that move.
