I think a better idea is Ranni would talk to you and gets to assist you before you enter the arena. Then when phase 2 happens, the cutscene extends to Ranni talking to Miquella then dropping down to your shoulders. then the fight continues.
That's next game ideas here. You won't get a second phase til you get to the final boss. Then in subsequent playthroughs they permanently remain your second phase during boss fights for fun
It really feels like a missed opportunity. Radahn held back the stars and thus Ranni's fate. The Tarnished slew him to put her back in motion. Miquella revived Radahn and is using him, against his will, while the Tarnished helped Ranni voluntarily, and under no pretenses or delusions about who she was or what she was trying to do. A clash of a master and unwilling puppet vs a cooperative and consensual pair, would have made for an incredible fight. Ranni clinging to your back and casting frost spells, or fending off Miquellas brainwash attack, so when Radahn grabs you she says something like "His heart is not for you to steal." it would have been really cool.
There's actually a lot of conflicting evidence about whether or not Radahn agreed to this with some evidence even suggesting the initial idea for this was Radahn's.

The wielding of both the moonlight and godslayer's greatswords here implies this tarnished is a faith-int, the rarest and flashiest build. Faith-ints are always gigachads and you cannot convince me otherwise.
Actually it would be Dex/Int. GSG scales more from Dex than it does faith, it also requires 22 dex compared to 20 faith to use. So having 20 faith while maxing Dex/int would be your best damage output with these two weapons.

Absolutely not but it’s much more fitting to be able to cast Incantations (godslayer incants come to mind) on the left hand while casting spells on the right, combine this with a catalyst weapon and you’ll find a new play style weaving in the longer incants with the quicker spells. Is also very cool looking and fits well as the chosen consort of Ranni

The hands of Miquella stretch forward atempting to grab the tarnished ready to sway it towards them. But a blizzard blows hard blinding Miquilla, the tarnished takes this oportunity kicking Radahn on the chest beinf free of its grasp landing on the ground a few feets away, as an spectral figure apears from behind. Two arms coil gently around its neck, while another pair grabs it around the waist. - Noble tarnished hearth its not for you to take Miquella, for it is unbound and unchained! Given out of free will- Ranni materializes behind the tarnished, floating behind it as an spectral cloack, her hair floating gently as her hat its carried away by the wind. - My promised consort and i will usher a new age of the stars, of true free will and boundless discovery and wisdom - Ranni reaches closer with her hand, touching her consort gently, as the tarnished answers in kind, eyes not moving away from their rival. -Let us go...togheter consort eternal...to fullfill our vows, two halfs of a full moon. Ranni releases a new wave of ice magic enveloping her consort, as the fight resumes for the fate of the lands betwen. The tarnished stretches his hand, and a blade apears on it, blue as ice, shimering as the stars while the warrior gets ready to fight, the blade pulsates and shines again for a moment, reacting to the wielder and her Mistress, empowering by its mere presence.
Ohhhh, I absolutely love this. Forgive me if the following is a bit of a rant. But I had the same idea with a character losely based off of the Doomslayer. A vengeance paladin blessed by an Angel of Vengeance. Then at the final battle, you see the spectral image of an angel embrace the paladin as they speak the words that the King spoke to the Doomslayer, as he turns into the Avenging Angel Capstone ability of a the Paladin Oath.
I imagine this being when welding the dark moon greatsword. And when this happens it gets permanently powered up (like if you use the ash of war) for the rest of the fight
Ranni's dark moon spell absorbs all spells cast against the bearer, it would be great if during the battle every time Radahn throws meteors at us, Ranni would use her dark moon to nullify those attacks.

The Dark Moon doesn't seem malevolent (maybeee) so it makes sense to slay the other outer gods that have been toying with humanity, and keeping the Dark Moon as a patron to ward off other cosmic pests in the future. If the Frenzied Flame wants to spread frenzy and entropy, Scarlet Rot its rot, Greater Will wants its brand of order, Dark Moon just wants to... exist?
It is truly amazing how we have Dark Moonlight Greatsword to represent our Dark Moon Outergod and God Slayer Greatsword to be able to kill any God who could danger the current order.
To be honest, I prefer using normal weapons and upgrading them to +25. Even the achievement for that is called God Slaying Weapon. Instead of using weapons with history estabilished by others, I prefer to craft that history myself.
It probably would have been more significant if it had been a staff since Ranni is a witch who holds her own fate and freely roams the stars. That and she pobably gives you some spells.
The moon might not be an outer god since Ymir implies it's just another celestial body in which to connect to the Greater Will, the Dark Moon is weird though.
An amazing detail I like in this, is that Miquella puts his arms over Radahn's shoulders and neck, putting his weight on him. While in this art Ranni puts her arms under tarnished arms, as if supporting his weight - really puts them in perspective.
Why is it that in Souls and Elden Ring the "Dark Lord"/"Lord of Night" is preferable to the "Lord of Sunlight"/"Elden Lord"? Almost as if Miyazaki wants to challange the classical Evil dark vs Good light thing.

These are just quotes I think would play out if you did the age of stars ending and then went to fight Miquella and Radahn.
This sounds right. If my memory serves me right, *Ranni’s* ending freed the lands between of the Elden Ring, meaning no more laws, no more order, no more control over fate. In essence, Ranni’s ending allowed everyone in the lands between to make their own choices and die where they pleased as opposed to a world of the golden order. Even if it is a reckless solution to the problem of the Elden Ring and absolving the sins of Marika’s order it is a productive one, letting the world make its own decisions without interference, meaning wars will still be fought, men and women will die, no peace to come of it, but free will be granted after years of suffering. *Miquella* on the other hand, couldn’t bare a world given the free will to make their own choices. In his eyes, the free will to make choices outside of his command has lead to countless deaths and endless slaughter, even outside the golden order, in other cultures too. Many have tried to create a perfect order, Marika included, but no matter what, if their roots are rotten, there will always be an impurity or flaw in their design. Miquella believes that with enough sacrafice they will become pure enough to ascend to godhood and make a perfect order of peace, leading to infinite prosperity. However, to achieve that peace, he needs to heartlessly hold complete control over the minds of everyone, ensuring not a thought would be made without her guidance. While on paper it seems fine, in practice it’s absolutely horrifying. No free will, not a single decision made on your own? It would be a world completely made of zombies, all fawning over Miquella. A world without free will and permanent peace is funny enough, complete and utter stagnation. Nothing will change, nothing will grow, everything will remain the same. In that way Miquella plan is reflective of Miquella’s curse. Forever young, never to grow. A clash between Ranni and Miquella would be a conflict between the long held question. What leads to a better world? More free will or less free will? In the end, free will will always prevail making this ending, narratively speaking, really clever.

Funny how both swords rep the only two "maidens" we can have. Melina with her alter ego's godslayer blackflame sword and Ranni with her dark moon greatsword. But is that enough to stop tricky mickys femboy charms from taking over his mind? filling it with depraved thoughts of micky bussy?
People are joking a lot and good on them but on the music specifically I just want to say that the duality between the twinkly percussion instrument and the more grounded string instrument is wonderful at the start. The duality between spectral, mystical xylophone-like instrument and the more earthen, somber sound of the cello or violin. The duality between Ranni, and the Tarnished. 0:00-0:51 Ranni makes her appearance, embracing the Tarnished 0:51-1:43 Ranni's build up counter speech as Radahn and the Tarnished stare eachother down (Ranni emulates Rennala, raising her staff as the Tarnished regroups in some sort of cool pose) 1:43-End: The second phase.

If this happened it would be sweet ... especially if you also have the godslayer great sword (with may or may not be the weapon of melina) this would be a cool time for the tarnished to spreak something like "oh hear thee miquela ... we have given thee courtesy enough ... we had lost those closest to us but we refuse thees age of compassionate tyranny ... so the flames of black and the silver moon will unite ... ranni and i her consort eternal ... WILL STRIKE YOU DOWN!"

HEACY DLC ENDGAME SPOILERS: I find it hilarious how Miquella basically had to wage war against Radahn because he said to Miquella "sorry, not interested. Have a nice day. I'll be focusing on being a warrior and holding back the stars now", then Miquella had to wait for his death, then bring him back from the afterlife to finally charm him into beocming his consort... Meanwhile the Tarnished basically throws himself into Ranni's arms without the slightest hesitation and Ranni repeatedly goes "WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME?" and "WHY THE HELL DO YOU LIKE ME?!" and we are just like "Anything for you, my queen."

POV: Is 2054, The DLC for Elden Ring 2 came out 6 months ago and you are still trying to defeat the hardest boss ever created by Miyazaki: Dear Consort Eternal of Ranni the Witch of Endless Night
In game I know the power standing of these weapons wouldn’t work but idgaf it’s cool asf. Ranni has one of the few quest lines in the game that doesn’t really lead to a cosmic tragedy beyond our present understanding. Radahn is THE most powerful demigod (in combat at least) but the Tarnished is a legend by this stage. The Lunar Princess Ranni, and her Tarnished Consort, Router of the Scarlet Rot, Slayer of the Lord of Stars, The God-Killer. *intro theme*
It would be nice if they give option like in sekiro to raise again as "promised consort" depending on what ending you set up. E.g. if you choose Ranni she would hurl sorceries on Radhan, Frenzy flame, you get orb of frenzy over you putting Huge amount of Frenzy state on radhan making him vulnerable (not counterable just that you could land several hits) as Miquela tries to calm Radhan down. In short every ending giving you power to overcome Radhan. OFC it will require fighting Radhan solo + probably Radhan should be a little buffed due to it.
This actually gives me an idea for a game mechanic. What if you, the player, also had a second phase. You get two health bars, when the first one depletes, you enter your second phase that has different chosen abilities that make you stronger. Obviously, the boss would have to be scaled to accommodate it. Imagine you and the boss hit trade, and you both enter your second phase at the same time. I feel like that would go insanely hard
It would've been cooler if whichever ending we chose or mending rune we carried had relevance. The Tarnished can grab Miquella and stare into his eyes as the Lord of Frenzied Flame until he lets go, Ranni saves you, something related to Fia or how Godwyn protects her if you attack her, even being charmed but taking it a deranged direction via wanting to kill and defile him like the Dung Eater.

I actually saw this artwork theme about a week and a half ago, and decided to try a NG run for it just to see if it can work and how effective it could be. Basically, this build requires you to dump into 3 damage stats: Dex, Faith, and Int. If you go with Wretch for starting class and allocate points correctly, it’s actually possible to make this build work before level 100, and that’s including you hitting at least 40 Vigor. Basically, you’re primarily going into Dex and Int, while grabbing the Faith needed to wield Godslayer. While the build does work prior to level 100, you won’t start seeing massive returns until a bit after, so for all intents and purposes this is a late game build. It can actually be used a couple ways. One way is to simply “powerstance” the weapons. With this you would use the left hand to apply frost and the right to remove it; this method largely forgoes the skills for both weapons. Second, you simply two-hand one at a time and swap when you want to use the other; this allows for more consistent gameplay and better use of the skills, but also requires a lot more thought since you have to micromanage which weapon you’re holding at any given point. One nice thing about the build is the multiple damage types. Being able to hit against multiple different negations allows you to abuse more enemy weaknesses, and black flame of course is super strong with its guaranteed percent damage.
@@Dankmemeslover69 while that’s true, it’s also black flame which does flat percent damage, do there isn’t that much of a damage falloff. Not to mention there’s plenty of ways to boost its damage, like FGMS and Fire Shrouding Cracked Tear, which you’d be using anyway if you’re trying to get the most damage out of it. Either way, the build primarily would center around proccing and resetting frost while also getting additional percentage damage from black flame, all without needing a ton of FP from spell spam. Most of the time you aren’t using the L2 at all outside of stance breaks or if the boss is big and slow, because the L2 isn’t needed to reset frost.
@@Dankmemeslover69 the point is, you don’t need the L2 to be super strong, you just need the occasional black flame effect. This kind of build really only reaches its potential at very high levels (roughly 80 in Dex, Int, and Faith to hit the hard caps and push the Godslayer’s AR to 1000), but it’s still perfectly viable and surprisingly effective at the 125-150 range.

Instead of being charmed, she triggers frostbite on you to chill your heart against a charm attempt. Still punishing you for getting caught by Radahn/Miquella grab, but not triggering normal game over.
Honestly this could have been a really cool alternative ending two ideas clashing free will vs tyrannical compassion freedom of choice vs absolute obedience for compassion
The Darkmoon Geatsword is an obvious choice but I love that the other weapon is the Godslayer Greatsword. Both because it's my absolute favorite weapon in the game, but also because it just plain makes sense. The Tarnished kills gods. It's a god-slaying sword. Peanut butter, meet jelly. And now i want a power stance weapon art for the two. Launch a moonlight blade to stagger the target-> leap forward -> Queen's Black Flame to knock them away -> vertical moonlight blade finisher.
I would seriously lose my balls if happened. When youre down on your last Estus and the moon suddenly appears as Ranni embraces you and goes to support you against the twink.

Wow, this is beautiful! Though I feel like "Promised Consort" should be "Chosen Consort" to better distinguish the Tarnished from Radahn... Plus, unlike Radahn and Miquella, we aren't promised to be with Ranni, we choose to be with her.
How cool would it be if you finished Ranni's questline and when Miquella charms you instead of having to use his Great Rune, the arena goes dark for a second and Ranni talks some shit and cleanses the charm? Barely any change on the fight so it can't be called OP, but so rewarding and cool.
I think it would be so cool if depending on the ending you chose the maiden would come to help you. Imagine when Miquella appears and has his speech your character hears Ranni or if you did the perfect order or the normal ending you have Marika appear and cast spells to heal you or attack Radahn. And if you did the chaos ending your character appearance could be changed to have the frenzied flame head during the second phase. I think it would reward players for beating the game in there own way.
This goes hard would love the art+music to be a background on like wallpaper engine or something. Increasing the tempo as the video gets further in and I can almost picture the boss fight.

The wielding of both the moonlight and godslayer's greatswords here implies this tarnished is a faith-int, the rarest and flashiest build. Faith-ints are always gigachads and you cannot convince me otherwise.
Actually it would be Dex/Int. GSG scales more from Dex than it does faith, it also requires 22 dex compared to 20 faith to use. So having 20 faith while maxing Dex/int would be your best damage output with these two weapons.
Shame we can't powerstance them. Closest we'd get is darkmoon/golden order greatswords.

Absolutely not but it’s much more fitting to be able to cast Incantations (godslayer incants come to mind) on the left hand while casting spells on the right, combine this with a catalyst weapon and you’ll find a new play style weaving in the longer incants with the quicker spells. Is also very cool looking and fits well as the chosen consort of Ranni

But a blizzard blows hard blinding Miquilla, the tarnished takes this oportunity kicking Radahn on the chest beinf free of its grasp landing on the ground a few feets away, as an spectral figure apears from behind. Two arms coil gently around its neck, while another pair grabs it around the waist.

Ohhhh, I absolutely love this. Forgive me if the following is a bit of a rant. But I had the same idea with a character losely based off of the Doomslayer. A vengeance paladin blessed by an Angel of Vengeance. Then at the final battle, you see the spectral image of an angel embrace the paladin as they speak the words that the King spoke to the Doomslayer, as he turns into the Avenging Angel Capstone ability of a the Paladin Oath.
I imagine this being when welding the dark moon greatsword. And when this happens it gets permanently powered up (like if you use the ash of war) for the rest of the fight

It is truly amazing how we have Dark Moonlight Greatsword to represent our Dark Moon Outergod and God Slayer Greatsword to be able to kill any God who could danger the current order.
To be honest, I prefer using normal weapons and upgrading them to +25. Even the achievement for that is called God Slaying Weapon. Instead of using weapons with history estabilished by others, I prefer to craft that history myself.

An amazing detail I like in this, is that Miquella puts his arms over Radahn's shoulders and neck, putting his weight on him. While in this art Ranni puts her arms under tarnished arms, as if supporting his weight - really puts them in perspective.

The fact that I practically heard Ranni's voice while reading that shows how underrated this comment is.

These are just quotes I think would play out if you did the age of stars ending and then went to fight Miquella and Radahn.
This sounds right. If my memory serves me right, *Ranni’s* ending freed the lands between of the Elden Ring, meaning no more laws, no more order, no more control over fate.
In essence, Ranni’s ending allowed everyone in the lands between to make their own choices and die where they pleased as opposed to a world of the golden order.
Even if it is a reckless solution to the problem of the Elden Ring and absolving the sins of Marika’s order it is a productive one, letting the world make its own decisions without interference, meaning wars will still be fought, men and women will die, no peace to come of it, but free will be granted after years of suffering.
*Miquella* on the other hand, couldn’t bare a world given the free will to make their own choices. In his eyes, the free will to make choices outside of his command has lead to countless deaths and endless slaughter, even outside the golden order, in other cultures too.
Many have tried to create a perfect order, Marika included, but no matter what, if their roots are rotten, there will always be an impurity or flaw in their design.
Miquella believes that with enough sacrafice they will become pure enough to ascend to godhood and make a perfect order of peace, leading to infinite prosperity.
However, to achieve that peace, he needs to heartlessly hold complete control over the minds of everyone, ensuring not a thought would be made without her guidance. While on paper it seems fine, in practice it’s absolutely horrifying. No free will, not a single decision made on your own? It would be a world completely made of zombies, all fawning over Miquella. A world without free will and permanent peace is funny enough, complete and utter stagnation. Nothing will change, nothing will grow, everything will remain the same.
In that way Miquella plan is reflective of Miquella’s curse. Forever young, never to grow.
A clash between Ranni and Miquella would be a conflict between the long held question.
What leads to a better world? More free will or less free will?
In the end, free will will always prevail making this ending, narratively speaking, really clever.

I find it hilarious how Miquella basically had to wage war against Radahn because he said to Miquella "sorry, not interested. Have a nice day. I'll be focusing on being a warrior and holding back the stars now", then Miquella had to wait for his death, then bring him back from the afterlife to finally charm him into beocming his consort...
Meanwhile the Tarnished basically throws himself into Ranni's arms without the slightest hesitation and Ranni repeatedly goes "WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME?" and "WHY THE HELL DO YOU LIKE ME?!" and we are just like "Anything for you, my queen."

I guess the Tarnished was tired of being called a simp over a million times.
In game I know the power standing of these weapons wouldn’t work but idgaf it’s cool asf. Ranni has one of the few quest lines in the game that doesn’t really lead to a cosmic tragedy beyond our present understanding.
Radahn is THE most powerful demigod (in combat at least) but the Tarnished is a legend by this stage. The Lunar Princess Ranni, and her Tarnished Consort, Router of the Scarlet Rot, Slayer of the Lord of Stars, The God-Killer.

It would be nice if they give option like in sekiro to raise again as "promised consort" depending on what ending you set up. E.g. if you choose Ranni she would hurl sorceries on Radhan, Frenzy flame, you get orb of frenzy over you putting Huge amount of Frenzy state on radhan making him vulnerable (not counterable just that you could land several hits) as Miquela tries to calm Radhan down. In short every ending giving you power to overcome Radhan. OFC it will require fighting Radhan solo + probably Radhan should be a little buffed due to it.

This actually gives me an idea for a game mechanic.
What if you, the player, also had a second phase.
You get two health bars, when the first one depletes, you enter your second phase that has different chosen abilities that make you stronger.
Obviously, the boss would have to be scaled to accommodate it.
Imagine you and the boss hit trade, and you both enter your second phase at the same time.
I feel like that would go insanely hard
It would've been cooler if whichever ending we chose or mending rune we carried had relevance. The Tarnished can grab Miquella and stare into his eyes as the Lord of Frenzied Flame until he lets go, Ranni saves you, something related to Fia or how Godwyn protects her if you attack her, even being charmed but taking it a deranged direction via wanting to kill and defile him like the Dung Eater.
Or at least special dialogue would've been cool too. Yours tho kinda gave me chills

I actually saw this artwork theme about a week and a half ago, and decided to try a NG run for it just to see if it can work and how effective it could be.
Basically, this build requires you to dump into 3 damage stats: Dex, Faith, and Int. If you go with Wretch for starting class and allocate points correctly, it’s actually possible to make this build work before level 100, and that’s including you hitting at least 40 Vigor. Basically, you’re primarily going into Dex and Int, while grabbing the Faith needed to wield Godslayer. While the build does work prior to level 100, you won’t start seeing massive returns until a bit after, so for all intents and purposes this is a late game build.
It can actually be used a couple ways. One way is to simply “powerstance” the weapons. With this you would use the left hand to apply frost and the right to remove it; this method largely forgoes the skills for both weapons. Second, you simply two-hand one at a time and swap when you want to use the other; this allows for more consistent gameplay and better use of the skills, but also requires a lot more thought since you have to micromanage which weapon you’re holding at any given point.
One nice thing about the build is the multiple damage types. Being able to hit against multiple different negations allows you to abuse more enemy weaknesses, and black flame of course is super strong with its guaranteed percent damage.
Godslayer's L2 scales purely with faith so not investing into faith beside minimum requirement is a big loss in dps.
@@Dankmemeslover69 while that’s true, it’s also black flame which does flat percent damage, do there isn’t that much of a damage falloff. Not to mention there’s plenty of ways to boost its damage, like FGMS and Fire Shrouding Cracked Tear, which you’d be using anyway if you’re trying to get the most damage out of it.
Either way, the build primarily would center around proccing and resetting frost while also getting additional percentage damage from black flame, all without needing a ton of FP from spell spam. Most of the time you aren’t using the L2 at all outside of stance breaks or if the boss is big and slow, because the L2 isn’t needed to reset frost.
@@Dankmemeslover69 the point is, you don’t need the L2 to be super strong, you just need the occasional black flame effect. This kind of build really only reaches its potential at very high levels (roughly 80 in Dex, Int, and Faith to hit the hard caps and push the Godslayer’s AR to 1000), but it’s still perfectly viable and surprisingly effective at the 125-150 range.

truly an epic battle between the sun (Miquella) and the moon (Ranni).
It would be cool, I imagine she would cast dark moon and frost spells from your back and colaborate with your attacks much like miquella does, but she should also have the capacity to defend against the charm atack
Instead of being charmed, she triggers frostbite on you to chill your heart against a charm attempt.
Still punishing you for getting caught by Radahn/Miquella grab, but not triggering normal game over.

The Darkmoon Geatsword is an obvious choice but I love that the other weapon is the Godslayer Greatsword. Both because it's my absolute favorite weapon in the game, but also because it just plain makes sense.
The Tarnished kills gods. It's a god-slaying sword. Peanut butter, meet jelly.
And now i want a power stance weapon art for the two. Launch a moonlight blade to stagger the target-> leap forward -> Queen's Black Flame to knock them away -> vertical moonlight blade finisher.
I'm so mad we can't powerstance them, literally my two favorite weapons😭

Wow, this is beautiful! Though I feel like "Promised Consort" should be "Chosen Consort" to better distinguish the Tarnished from Radahn... Plus, unlike Radahn and Miquella, we aren't promised to be with Ranni, we choose to be with her.
I mean if this was my age of stars tarnished then we’d have an issue if “oops two mages” on our hands .
Can you imagine if something like this happened in the game, if you had already done Rannis ending or at least had Rannis ending set up to go? Insane.

How cool would it be if you finished Ranni's questline and when Miquella charms you instead of having to use his Great Rune, the arena goes dark for a second and Ranni talks some shit and cleanses the charm? Barely any change on the fight so it can't be called OP, but so rewarding and cool.

I think it would be so cool if depending on the ending you chose the maiden would come to help you. Imagine when Miquella appears and has his speech your character hears Ranni or if you did the perfect order or the normal ending you have Marika appear and cast spells to heal you or attack Radahn. And if you did the chaos ending your character appearance could be changed to have the frenzied flame head during the second phase. I think it would reward players for beating the game in there own way.
I imagine instead of doing the usual rolling, the Tarnished would do short distance teleports and leave behind a bomb in the form of a small moon
This goes hard would love the art+music to be a background on like wallpaper engine or something. Increasing the tempo as the video gets further in and I can almost picture the boss fight.

Has anyone designed a build for this look!? That is incredible, the armor almost looks like Blaidd's on top, but not 100% sure. The music works so well. :)
