Oh hey, FoW Content! To clarify something. ABC format (arcana battle colliseum) is a singleton multiplayer format where each player starts with the "arcana" ruler for their color combo, and then you can "convoke" rulers that are in your deck to put them into play to make use of them as well after you draw them. That is why the deck has so many rulers in it ;)
Well this was a Christmas gift. I remember following you back when you did FoW content. There is a lot of fun cards in the ABC decks. And also because it gives ya so many Rulers newer players could use that to help jump into building decks for normal wanderer the main format now. Thanks for the fun video, hopefully you'll come around and stay, and have some fun on the side with us in the FoW community. And have a happy holidays and a happy new year.
The chant rulers you were confused about are called contracts that pair with a respective ruler so the Asuka ruler that had no J-Ruler is paired with the Night of the Legendary Vampire chant and if the conditions on the chant are met then you can contract by flipping the chant side. The Ruler will be flipped upside down and the Contract J-Ruler will be put on the field. There are more rules to them like they can flip even when rested. Truly a fun mechanic. Nice seeing you interested again in Fow
If you ever wanna play ABC format for fun, Cal still runs the OLS and Wednesdays and Thursdays are ABC nights. We would love to see you there for a night of free FoW.
@RedZoneRogue yea, but it's very easy to get ahang of and fun since they are very easy to search and build your deck around the different mechanics of your personal blend of rulers.
Yoooooo RZR is back! I would periodically check your channel to see if you made a comeback to FoW or not. Lol. ABC is super fun and I’m pumped as hell to see you give it a try. Come back! We need content creators!
The TCG that introduced me to this channel well before FaB. I still have my decks including my full pimp OTK Golem. With the arrival of the support sets for the old clusters I am really hesitant to buy them unfortunately there is no longer a community near me...
I love FOW, started in reya cluster and am making a cube of reya and new valhalla cluster. Living in canada thou makes it slightly harder to get new cards.
I miss this game. Used to run mono green Vlad Tepes and just countered and siphoned all day. Made one of the other locals rage quit a tournament after he saw my ruler. Lol
Force of Will was the reason I subscribed. Entered the Game at Frozen Casket. Quit later, as they went really weird with the game and how they would provide Rulers and such. Kept a few decks though and gave the rest away to a friend. Even had #15 of the Gill Alhama'at they gave out to Top 500 code points earners. Had bought tons of cheap boxes to get into the game and my buddy did too, so we scanned together and then split the rewards.
There were a lot of reasons. I never made a "I'm quitting" video because 1. I'm just not that kind of person 2. The community and game didn't deserve more negative feedback Personally I'd love to see a reboot. Overhaul the card frames (seriously they're some of the ugliest on the market) and start a new main format from the ground up. Keep everything else for Wanderer but I think a clean slate is needed.
@@RedZoneRogue Interesting that you would say this. The company JUST this week announced that they are expanding competitive play with a new competitive format to be supported alongside wanderer. "Paradox format" which starts with Hero cluster as the new starting point and is a rotating format including the 3 most recently clusters and the most recent masterpiece collection. It is essentially a "soft reboot" of New Frontiers only expanding it to 3 clusters and a masterpiece instead of just 2 clusters. Wanderer and Paradox format will both get competitive GP level events, have their own ban lists, etc. It is a great way for people who might want to try and jump back in to have an ez on ramp to competitive play/start up a new locals. The card frame won't change, but if you don't want to try and relearn/learn all of the games 10 year card pool, Paradox format is a great way to do it!
@RulerSchoolTCG unfortunately gameplay is only half of the equation. Tcg aesthetics are more important than ever with so much competition on the market - if I was doing consulting for FoW that would be one of the major points I would advocate for. A complete reboot paired with a return to the original frames (or new well designed ones) would generate TONS of excitement and hype. More importantly it would get people talking about the game again
@@RedZoneRogue what a reboot would do is essentially "start from the beginning", a reboot would probably loose a big chunk of the current player base and they would need to do all the work again from scratch do I miss the old frames from Lapis Cluster, yeah I do, it's what I started with, do I miss the some of the old gameplay, of course but rebooting the game would probably end it for good
I started following your channel because force if will, it's still one of my favorites or at least it was... It had beautiful art and border until middle alice cluster, but then they start cutting costs, power creep has gone through the roof, they started using AI art and if you compare art from the same artists woth their past works the art really as fallen, it's currently one if the ugliest games out there. But would be cool if you made retro content to show how good it was in the past! They made the will rewards, the ruler upgrades etc.
@@RedZoneRogue again. They tried it for 2 sets on a couple cards, like.. I think less than 10 total? The community told them they didn't like it, and they stopped.
@@RedZoneRogue very valid. It caused a stir in the community when it was even mentioned, so I totally agree that it's good they pulled away from it quick
3 years later....
Thank you all for the support as usual - whether you've been watching for 8 years or 8 days

You get all of those Rulers to put into your deck, you just start with the arcana ruler.
So weird. Having a Ruler in your deck was totally unheard of when I played

Honestly I think FOW is a perfect game to make a cube from 👌
@@RedZoneRogue I have a FoW Cube and we bring it to every major tournament to goof around with, its a lot of fun.

Whoah that's crazy.
I've been watching and shooting the shit with you since way back in the prime of FoW. Good memories.

definitely did not have this on my 2024 bingo card

Still have my ARG GIll Lapis Top8 mat.
i unfortunately cannot get over the card layout and font post AO3
I'm not a fan either
I've always been curious: What's the song that plays as an outro? Is there anywhere we could hear the full outro song?
I always wondered why you stopped making FOW videos, because from my point of few, you picked the spot where the game was at one of it's high points

They experimented with ai art for for like.. 2 sets and then dropped doing that...
Oh really, I didn't know about the AI art thing. I'm unquestionably opposed to it so that's disappointing to hear

I still have some of the promos and rulers that I liked. Too bad it didn't maintained it's popularity here, used to call them edh lite
The new Arcana Battle Coliseum format is perfect for people who like Commander but don't like land screw! Try it out!
Outside of TCGplayer, where can I buy cheap FoW products?
Honestly no idea. Personally I'd just check ebay
there is Cardodoko for international shipping and odyssey games for the US
I played this game once🤣
