    Hi Dillon great job with the channel so far! I was hoping you remember the offset/backspace specs on the rear of that truck to get the 295's under it and if you think a guy could maybe get em under a little further so the box wouldn't have to be tampered with? I will run a 245 or 255 up front on a 8" so should be OK there. I appreciate ya if you do get a chance to reply.

    • @Dr_stranges_customs

      I believe my rears have a 4.5 inch backspace. I don’t recommend this backspacing because you will have to roll the box out of your still running the stock rear end. I swapped to the 8.8 Ford in the rear and it’s narrower the the stock rear end but I had to use wheel spacers to get the wheel centered right. Don’t do what I did lol. Actually measure and figure what combo will work for you

    4:49 also, you can have a stock intake ported and polished. You’ll shave about 2pounds of aluminum out of it but there are significant power gains over aftermarket.
    Also, you can have the old exhaust manifolds ported and polished. Yep, significantly increases horsepower, but you gotta have the large opening on your manifolds, not the smaller set, I believe

    • @Dr_stranges_customs
      @Dr_stranges_customs  2 місяці тому +1

      Oh I’m sure you can get a lot of aluminum out of them! They’re not a terrible intake especially when you do the plenum mod. Never thought about doing the exhaust manifolds though 🤔

    That's a nice truck. I gave my daughter that same truck for her graduation. Unfortunately she got t-boned but she was okay. My question is I have a 92 318 four-speed automatic that I want to put in my $73 Dodge van but where the motor mounts are. I'm not sure if it's going to fit. Is it possible without modifications?

    • @Dr_stranges_customs

      I’m not very well versed in the vans but you should be able to just use your mounts from your van on your 92 engine and it’ll bolt right up. The small blocks are almost all the same externally as far as mounting tabs go.

    • @Dr_stranges_customs
      @Dr_stranges_customs  2 роки тому

      Sorry for the late reply but my bolt pattern was a 5x4.5 and I found some wheels off a jeep wrangler and threw em on. Make sure to measure your bolt pattern though, some of the early 2wd like mine had the small bolt pattern but I believe the later years went to 5x5.5. I can’t remember what the backspacing or offset was but they fit barely with some fender rolling. I’d go with a 8 wide in the front and a 10 in the back. Just measure backspacing on these old truck and find a wheel that works that way. Trying to figure out offset just hurts my brain lol
