I love that your list includes products at every price point! I have been wanting to try incorporating a mousse or foam in my routine more often, so this list will be a great place to start.
I remembered you requesting that I do so. So I’ve been trying a wide range of products at different price points to better be able to give options. Thank you for watching!
I absolutely love the totally twisted herbal essences Mousse. Have been using it for 20+ years when I do use mousse. To me nothing compares to it high end or drugstore but I might try some of the others you’ve listed. Thanks for the recommendations.
The herbal essence curly hair mousse works really well on my 3b curls! The definition isn’t totally there, it’s gives me more a more stretched out curl since my hair is on the longer side but it did create a really nice soft hold and kept the frizz at bay! I love the smell and the price point! I def agree it felt like I had to apply more since the mousse wasn’t very thick but I have no crunchy curls and my hair doesn’t feel dried out! I used it with the rizos curls defining cream and it’s a good combo!
Thank you for this top 5. I would like to have your toughts on the new formulation of the Joico Joiwhip. A LOT of bad reviews about the new formulation make me nervous to try it. Thank you again!
Oh no! I hadn’t heard that. I’m pretty sure the can I have is the newer formulation. Its not that old. I guess it depends on when it was reformulated. I’ll have to look I to this. But if the one I have is the new formulation, I didn’t notice a difference from the old one. Thank you for watching!
I have thick course wavy hair and I’ve been using AG Xtramoist with fast food for a month now and it has made my hair so dry. I went for a hair cut 4 weeks ago and went again today because my ends are split. I don’t blow dry and I only use the flat iron about once a week. I’m going to try the verb hydrating shampoo and conditioner. And then us AG recoil. I’ve been using recoil for years and I love it! My hair goes to the bottom of my ears and I need more support. Thinking I’ll try the AG mousse
The AG mousse is a really great mousse. I wasn’t too impressed with the Xtramoist when I used it years ago. it didn’t dry my hair but didn’t do much for it either. Thank you for watching!
I was going through my ridiculous horde of hair products over the weekend, giving some away to downsize, & came across that joico mousse, and I forgot I had even bought it. I haven't even used it. I bought it when Ulta had a sale & had gotten their gel & that mousse. I didn't like the gel (too thick, my hair doesn't do well with thick, sticky gels), but never got around to the mousse lol. Maybe I'll give it a try tonight when I wash my hair
Yes, I have. Also a great mousse! It’s my daughter’s favorite. I was trying to stick to only 5 for the video (and failed anyway 😂). Thank you for watching!
I love your top 5 videos! I hope to see one for serums. I've been loyal to BioSilk for 20 years but after your other great advice (that's helped me get awesome hair days!) I'm curious what serums/oils you like.
I like their dream curls styling spray - it's extremely light weight & it has magnesium sulfate which is a curl enhancer. It doesn't really have hold, so you definitely have to still use mousse or gel. I also will spray it into my hand then use it to refresh my dry curls on day 3 or 4.
What leave in conditioner or curl cream do you use under the AG Mousse Gel? My hair is very dry so I need something more moisturizing than the Recoil as my base. I have their Fast Food leave in and I assume it would work with that leave it but I need mega moisture. I tried the Mousse Gel on my last washday with Bounce Curl’s Avocado and Rose Oil Curl Cream. Those 2 products caused flash drying. I recently realized that I can mix gels, creams, and leave ins in my hand to see if they curdle or if they blend well. But when I tried it with the AG Mousse Gel I really couldn’t tell whether it was curdling or not bc of its texture.
A curl cream and leave in I’ve used that works really well with the mousse gel is the Verb Curl Cream and leave in. They definitely are more moisturizing than the recoil. Another one I could see working well is Curlsmith’s weightless air dry cream or Hold me Softly Style Balm. I haven’t tried that yet though. I typically use the verb or recoil. Thank you for watching!
@@CurlyChelle547 you were right the Curlsmith Hold me Softly Style Balm was very nice under the AG Mousse Gel. I tried that one washday ago. Yesterday I tried another couple of your favorites- I used Bounce Curl Avocado and Rose Oil Curl Cream with the Alterna caviar Mousse WOW!! I am on my second day and I love it so far.
@@Star-dj1kw thank you for following up on that! I’m glad it worked out well! Ooooooh it sounds like I need to try the bounce curl cream with the alterna mousse! I haven’t done that combo yet. So many products and only one head of hair! Lol.
I have been looking for a product for fine curly hair that does not weigh my hair down I'll be purchasing the Joico Firm Hold Design Foam for my next video. I do hope I get volume🤞🏾
It’s definitely a great mousse! I’m in the process of updating my favorites videos but the joico will probably always be included! Another great lightweight mousse/foam that gives a lot of volume that I think would work well on your fine hair is Evolvh Instavolume volumizing mousse. I have a discount code in my description box to save you money if you’re interested in trying it. I did a review video here if you’d like to see it in action: ua-cam.com/video/xgO_A3A6F-s/v-deo.html Thank you for watching!
@@curlsbynat9763 Yay! Love that! Glad you got volume! I’m looking forward to your video! I need to check out your channel now. It looks like you’ve got gorgeous curls from what I can see in your tiny profile pic! And that’s so sweet of you to mention me! 😊
I read product reviews on Amazon of a couple of the Alterna products, the cream gel and another cream. The reviews said they had a strong scent. In your opinion, does the mousse have a strong scent? It sounds like a good product but perfume can be a migraine trigger for me.
I don’t think it’s that strong. Scents can be a migraine trigger for me too and it didn’t trigger one. I pretty much have to stick my nose in the mousse to smell it and once it’s on the hair, you can catch wafts of it every now and then on wash day. Subsequent days it just smells fresh and clean. It’s not overpowering in my opinion. I hate when all I can smell is my hair and I didn’t have that with the mousse. Hope this helps! Thank you for watching!
@@CurlyChelle547 thanks ☺️ I appreciate the reply. When I shop for products in a brick and mortar store, I will unscrew the top (when possible) and do a sniff test, same for lotion.
Hey Chelle, have you used the morrocan oil shampoo and conditioner? I just tried it and it's terrible! Made my hair dry and heavy, very disappointed especially how pricey it was! I got the volume mousse too, hope it's better.
Oh no! Sorry it didn’t work out for you. The Moroccanoil Moisture Repair conditioner is one of my favorites! It has protein in it. My daughter loves their Hydrating conditioner. I don’t use their shampoos and haven’t tried the mousse but I plan to. Thank you for watching!
I tried to reply earlier but I guess UA-cam took down my comment, because I listed a website you should be able to find it at. If you go to Wal-Mart's site, which let's just say has a very obvious dot com name, that's where I was able to finally find it. The seller/supplier even offered free shipping.
