This is a really interesting lecture. I have been enamored of these finds since I was about 10, so this was really great! The sheep rope was really interesting. So much Mesopotamian literature refers to the people of the city as the "sheepfold", so that seems like a very powerful symbol of ruler-ship. She mentions that Dumuzi is a shepherd, so I think this is showing Puabi as a representative of his. So cool!

Very nicely informative. Thank you very much for sharing your expertise. Very cool, learning about ancestry and historical data. Very interesting.
To address the sound quality, I wore earbuds and turned on captions👍

    The symbolic meanings.
The leaves and rosettes = The devotion of animals say goat and sheep feeding on the rosettes and dependant on the head person or thing) The ring-lets go around and around, when you move around the ring-lets it will come back to itself of never ending circles, the symbolic meaning = forever flowing of (animal) wealth and survival.
I would say the Sumerians came from the region of Elam modern day Iran where women still wear very similar traditional headdress and Sumerians were not native to Arab Semites from Iraq.

    Very interesting, despite background noise.

Wonderful discussion. I think the answer to the ' bearded' goat is simply a fly veil type piece as agriculture was prevalent the nuisance of flies needed to be addressed. 😁

These all seem like things that were important to royalty; milk, dates, palms, animals. Are the flowers meant to be symbolic for something? Did makeup or medicine come from the flowers?

She said the flowers are a kind of visual pun, because Inanna is also represented by a star or stars. So they are flowers whilst also being symbolic of Inanna.

Adding to the others, pity that this very informative video has such a terrible sound... very hard to heard any of the speakers... bit disappointing

the human animal figures represent astronomical symbols. This is like the farmers almanac.

Don't they realize that many people call pomegranates "Chinese apples"? 🤦🏾‍♀ Those are poms... why would they make charms of red apples when they didn't grow those or any apple that western cultures grow and eat? However, they did grow pomegranates!!!

It sometimes amazes me the incredible amount of imagination and poorly and wildly based school of thought that can only serve to confuse the reader. Get a job lady.
