    Manhattan
    Manhattan is the most densely populated borough of New York City, its economic and administrative center, and its historical birthplace.
    Many districts and landmarks in Manhattan are well known, as New York City received a record 61 million tourists in 2016, and Manhattan hosts three of the world's 10 most-visited tourist attractions in 2013: Times Square, Central Park, and Grand Central Terminal. The borough hosts many prominent bridges, such as the Brooklyn Bridge; skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building; and parks, such as Central Park. Chinatown incorporates the highest concentration of Chinese people in the Western Hemisphere, and the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, part of the Stonewall National Monument, is considered the birthplace of the modern gay rights movement. The City of New York was founded at the southern tip of Manhattan, and the borough houses New York City Hall, the seat of the city's government. Numerous colleges and universities are located in Manhattan,including Columbia University, New York University, Weill Cornell Medical College, and Rockefeller University, which have been ranked among the top 40 in the world.

    that super tall rectangle building you see the whole first part of the video in the distance, that is a condo building (432 Park Avenue Condos) and the condo at the very very top is about $82,000,000 or more.

    Nice to see Park Avenue again. I lived in Manhattan for many years but don’t go in anymore there’s too much crime and because of Covid. But there was a time when walking around the city was absolutely exhilarating and exciting so many cool people, places to go, and things to do. I really miss that and hope it comes back to the way it was. My prayers for all who live there now to do so safely and in good health. By the way you really get around, don’t you.,

      Ka Gala, literally every big city is gentrifying itself, they have to. If you were a mayor, would you rather have rich, young hipsters with lots of money to spend living in your city, or people of lower income? the answer is clear.

      Interesting you bring up the taxis. Personally, I miss the days when they were rear-drive, V8-powered Chevys, Fords, and Dodges, but I get that times change and it actually makes that NYC uses Camrys and Pruises now given the environmental and financial concerns. Bedsides, a V8 is also kind of a waste in a city with this kind of traffic unless it's a police car or something.

    Don't get me wrong, but in NYC there are too many unrestored,gritty buildings that doesn't fit the urban landscape.It's a pitty that such a great wealthy city with so many private investors doesn't get enough investment to renovate/rebuild those beautiful buildings.

    • @isunlloaoll
      @isunlloaoll 6 років тому +9

      The buildings are old, and protected by strict building code. You can't just work on a building even if you got the funding. Especially in these historic districts of Manhattan. The "gritty" buildings is what makes NYC, NYC. If you wanna see only shinny new buildings, go to Dubai.

    • @salvaorduna9785
      @salvaorduna9785 6 років тому +5

      You haven't understood me .I'm not talking about destroying them,in fact,I think they're quite beautiful.I'm talking about restoring them,about quitting the air conditioners,about cleanning the gritty facades.Moreover NYC has also shiny new buildings that mixed with the historical architecture make the city one of the world's best.And if you're not able to understand what I'm talking about,go to Chicago,Boston, London or any city of Central Europe.

    • @Calikid331
      @Calikid331 6 років тому +5

      I feel like the old, gritty buildings is what gives NYC it's character, it's what gives it that classic "east coast" look, like Philadelphia, or Chicago, or Boston. Old buildings give cities their character and it tells a story about the city's past.

      km most beautiful and business active city on Earth is Paris, capital of Europe, capital of science, fashion, lot of history more than your shitty usa could imagine, best traffic system, much more safer than Nyc and La Defence biggest business district in Europe.

    Thats not Upper East side....wrong title....Park Ave. Drive should be better

      MARC SMITH The drive south on Park Avenue is the Upper East Side. If you notice, at one of the stoplights, the cross street was 85th at one and I think 68th at another.
      Also, if you are familiar with the area as I am, you see the Met Life building in the center in the distance. That's located at Park and 45th. That's only 12 blocks south of the southern border of the UES. I usually walk down Madison to the Starbucks at 49th ALL the time. I'm in the east 60's when I'm in town.

      MARC SMITH ...after watching the whole video, I can now see your point. It was moreso a showcase of Park Avenue.

      You mean 432 Park Ave? That's only the beginning, soon there will be a sea of super tall skinny billionaire condos. Look up Steinway tower and central park tower, they will be built by 2020.

      Well look at the roads. Reckless taxi drivers, stoplights every intersection. Lots of pedestrians. No Lane adherence. Also there is probably expensive parking. It's more fiscally smart to just use the subway/take the taxis/walk to your destinations.

      nobody drives bro! I live in Jersey and driven many times in the city, but it's less stressful if you take mass transit. Granted there are headaches with as well, but most people don't drive in, because it can be stressful as hell. Patience is key in the city if your driving. Or get a bike and stroll the city. Just my 2cents

      European cities look similar too lol. Zurich looks like Dublin which looks like a smaller Berlin they all just have trains that run through them. Sad how US can build hundreds of cities especially since Europe has thousands of years on it. US cities arent the same btw you'd know if you actually go.
