- Very practical, incredible easy and very durable, you can use different abrasive paper grits.
You just need:
Dremel or any other rotary tool.
Sandpaper similar to the one that i used.
Wood glue.
Plastic pipe (i used 16mm)
Painting/paper tape
Cork !!
Very easy and cheap to do, this is an updated version of the first video that i did 3 years ago ;)

Excellent. Thank you. I also love videos without any talking, where the instruction is all visual. Well done!
Nice! Thanks for the tip, simple yet useful!
Thanks, it was very helpful since I was running out of drum sanders!
Powerful idea, great job!
awesome !!! i was going to use extra strong glue, didn't expect it will work with wood glue ! great video thx
Yes, wood glue works if you use "painters tape", when it dryes it "fuses" to the paper grit.
Thanks,it’s very useful. Cheers!
Well done!
Absolutely brilliant. So simple but so clever. I’ll start doing some later 👍
I uploaded a similar video 3 years ago and re-ploaded this one a few months ago, i use this diy sanding drums all the time ;)
DTeK well I needed some fine grade paper to do the hard to reach places on my motorcycle casings and you can’t get them over 600 I think and then you have to wait because they come from China
Fantastic idea.
thanks
amazing idea.
Very useful, thanks
Cork is brilliant.
Best I’ve seen
Super helpful to heck my little cheap manicure tool to sand my nails for fake nails! :D My good drill is too fast for that. Huge thanks from Hungary,EU! :)
Thanks :)

Nice work
If my wife saw me using a razor knife to cut sandpaper on her table that looked like that, this would be my last post . Ever
ha ha ;)

My tention is free when I see your vidio tq
that methiod of getting a spiral cut is very smart!
Show de aula!!! Parabéns, ganhou meu like e a minha inscrição.
Obrigado ;)
thanks
For dremel we can buy it however. But bigger, for drills etc are hard to find. I am going to make bigger ones becouse can't find it
For people asking about the pvc pipe diameter: he has to sand the cork (which is 24/25 mm diameter) so it all depends on how much you sand it down.
E.g: Lets say you have a 25 mm cork and sand 5mm off from it, your pvc pipe needs to be 20mm.
This explanation sounds kinda silly but since I see so many people asking the same...
in this case i used 16mm pvc pipe, the cork just need to be sanded a little bit bigger than the inner diameter of the pvc pipe for a tight fit, thank you for your reply :)
nice
nice.
Saya salut kreatif
They miraculously fell off the dowel back stage, can't believe the rod easily came out - if it had you'd have shown its removal
Sandpaper works sooooooo well with glue smeared all over it dude! Such attention to detail....bet you make some reeeeeeal quality stuff from what that video just showed
Tell everyone you're a karen without telling everyone you're a Karen. What a loser.
They have sanding attachments for that
Can we use this for metals??
😃N😃 i 😃C😃
THANKS .from Argentina
What is the size of the plastic tube? And where can i find it?
Only the paper-based skin will wear out quickly. Must be used on fabric.
it doesn´t wear, it remains glued
This was a great video ... up to a point. It didn't show how you got the dowel out of the band of sandpaper since the dowel had tape the sandpaper was glued to the tape???. What was the thing attached to the cork?
Thanks, i don´t remove anything, the plastic pipe is part of the "drum sander", i just cut it in smaller pieces and the smaller pieces will fit in the "cork attachement" has you can see in the final part of the video.
@@DTeK Thanks for this. I thought the plastic pipe was a solid wooden dowel!
На какое основание клеили скотч ?
How do you get sandpaper which is thicker and will last longer while sanding?
Store
молодец)леруа мерлен и dexter тебя спалил)))
Did you remove the wrap from the pipe before cutting ?
no, the plastic pipe is part of the drum sanders.
Yep, coppying that one...
What is the number (grit #) of sanding paper you used in the video
80 grit
What is the core? That you wrapped the tape over?
It´s a plastic pipe used in electrical wiring.
@@DTeK what the dia size of plastic pipe please my dear?
but wont getting the glue on the sandpaper (rough side) soften it?
Its a minimum amount of glue where the sides of the sand paper are touching, it doesn´t affect it.
@@DTeK ok thanks. i made my sanders 2hrs ago, thank you for the video
What size plastic pipe
12mm in diameter
is the superglue in the cork working?
The cork is not glued, its only used to atach the sanding drum
@@DTeK I means this: 1:23
@@luter82 sorry, yes its working, i use it often and after 1 year its holding fine.
@@DTeK oh great, Thanks!
How u remove the wood inside the sandpaper?
the wood? i used cork
Nice but I find it not very dependable seeing how no clue to keep the cork from doing its intentions without spinning also??
Pressure fit ;)
What a glue name ?
it is wood glue
couldn't you just sand the pvc pipe to roughen it instead of taping over it?
No because the wood glue will not stick, but if you use another tipe of glue it will work, i choose the wood glue and the painters tape because they are super cheap.
Забивать абразивный слой клеем???Да тебе премию Дарвина надо выдавать!!!

Take your gloves off, if they get caught is not fun, never wear gloves with spinning tools
Maybe with high power tools, this is a 170 w dremmel that i use always at low speeds using around 30/40w.
This is absolute not working!
it works, i use the same method 5 years later, tell me what is not working and i tell you what are you doing wrong ;)
