You're both living a great & healthy life. You've clearly thought what you've wanted out of life with Winston & work...& adventure. You're nailing it, an inspiration indeed.
Glad we could help. It has taken a while to design this lifestyle, but I am loving it so far. We’re currently exploring the Scottish Highlands in the pod before heading home for winter. X
You seem to have the happiest, "waggiest" doggy on the internet - That's got to be an unbiased seal of approval. Love the videos - love your lifestyle.
He is very waggly. His nickname is "Wiggles." Although, if I'm honest, I don't think that he is in full control of his tail 😅 Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hi Roseanna. A coincidence. I was on the Haltwhistle site when you were, my folding camper is just out of site in your video! Anyway I saw your pod and thought it would be ideal for me as I always go alone. The folding camper is getting to be hard work at my age and I really need something I can set up and decamp quicker. Several months on, after much research, I'm now the proud owner of a 2023 Go Pod Plus!
I’m so pleased I found this video. We went to Haltwhistle many years ago and to be honest I’d forgotten how beautiful it was.Must go back again this summer.
Jobs I think Roz could do to help fund her travels with Winston… - Canine Life Coach - Canine River Dance Choreographer - Hotel Inspector (specialist category, dog friendly campsites) - Data Speed Infringement Officer - Waterfall Chaser (think along the lines of the ‘96 blockbuster movie, Twister)
I noticed you made a comment regarding reversing your pod around a corner. now you may already know this via your towing course so apologies in advance, but just incase; a good easy tip to remember when backing up around a corner is to keep watch in both door mirrors and when the 'van starts to stray off course in either left or right mirror, just nice and gently steer that way to correct and bring the 'van back in a straight line.
Thanks so much for the tip. I was very good at reversing the caravan on my towing course, but I do sometimes struggle with the pod. I've been told that it's more difficult with the pod since it's smaller. I ideally need to take her somewhere where I can just practice reversing as I've only done it on campsites (with the added pressure of everyone watching! 😅) Thanks so much again!
That's right, a longer trailor is easier to maintain a straight line; heavier, longer with better balance. On sites people are a bit nosey in a friendly way. Some day on arrival I'd love to don large sunglasses, fumble my way out the driver side tapping away furiously with my white stick saying out loud to the wife "well you did a good job telling me which direction to steer and when to brake dear"
A true pet lover! ❤ It brings back memories of my travels with my old gal before she passed away. Happy days with Winston!❤ (Seeing him happily running free, I hope you have him microchipped, yes?)
That was great Roseanna, I too work from my Go-Pod travelling across Europe assessing site for Alan Rogers Guides and as a Go Pod Ambassadore and never have the same view twice, unfortunatly I do not have a Winston but I would suggest that you look at heading to Europe and some sun during the shoulder season. I think Winston may enjoy the company of a Standard Poodle I saw on a sun bed with a sun visor on the Cote D Azur .No I am not kidding .Enjoy your travels.😀
Thank you so much! Great to hear of someone else who works and travels with their Pod. We're still in our first year of touring (just got back from a 6-week tour around Scotland) so we're sticking to the UK for the time being, but I do have Europe in my sights for the future!! All the best x
Hi ! I was so pleased to find your videos 🙂 I came to speak to you at the campsite in Rosemarkie with my greyhound, because my husband and I were there with our Go Pod too 😁 You were kind enough to explain about your work and travels, so it's lovely to find out about your trips in more detail. Our Pod has his winter ' jacket ' on now, but I say roll on next Spring, and happy Podding for all of us next year ! 😃 Very best wishes to you and Winston, Allison x
Hello! Lovely to hear from you. I hope you had a lovely time at Rosemarkie. We got home from our trip at the beginning of October and I wrapped our pod up un her winter pyjamas also. However, I quickly got fed up of being at home so we've booked a trip to a local campsite for later this month to see how we feel about winter touring. If all goes okay, then we're going to keep travelling through winter. But it all depends on how well I can cope with the weather! 😅
Sounds great ! I know what you mean, I'm wondering how to survive until Spring. Husband is talking about using the Pod to visit various friends over the winter - can't wait ! 😃 Enjoy your winter travels, best wishes x
This is terrible news, all dogs should be kenneled outside disciplined, trained, and prepared for k9 duties. Well, thats the theory anyway which is what we often tell our female 4.5 year old German Shepherd, 'Amber' whilst she snuggles up to us on our bed first thing in the morning at some ungodly hour!
I find I get a better nights sleep after showering….so shower in the evening too (am not in a caravan) it marks the transition from being up & about to settling in w a good book, and then to sleep
What a great little setup you have there. How long have you been travelling and living that way? Looks great but are the campsites not very expensive everyday? Hope to buy myself an off grid campervan for me and my dog in the future.
Hey. I only got my Pod in March 2023, so I've been bobbing about the country since then. We went to 22 places last year and we hope to top that figure this year. But, I don't live like that full-time. I still have a home that I go back to. I just get to go away in my caravan more often than the normal person because I can work while I'm away. The campsites can get expensive (especially now, all the prices seem to be going up), but there are still a few deals to be found. Having the ability to go off grid would make things a lot cheaper, but then you've got to find a safe place to park every night, so swings and roundabout. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Nice to see the Go-Pod in every day use. I've been obsessing about the possibility of getting one for some time now, but I've never seen one in the flesh so to speak. Like yourself I'm a slim build, but I'm 6ft tall. I imagine head room would be a real issue for me.
I’m 5’7” and I can only stand up in the pod when the pop top is up, otherwise I have to hunch over. I think that the total head room is 6’3” so you should be able to stand up. Sleeping may be a problem though. I often sleep in the middle with my feet slightly over the edge of the bed, or I sleep diagonally. Alternatively, you could sleep with your head at the edge of the bed and your feet by the window. Hope that helps! If you follow GoPod on Facebook, they always announce which caravan shows they are going to, so maybe you could find a local one and go and check it out 👍🏼
Fascinating video thank you Ros. If you are constantly staying on camp sites though is it not expensive? What’s the standard rate per day on the sites you visit if you don’t mind me asking?

What a nice video and such a happy dog that lives up to his nickname. I have travelled around Norway with my dog Ritter who sadly died of old age five weeks ago. This summer I will be travelling alone😢
I am so sorry to hear of your loss, you must be heartbroken. I am sure you shared lots of adventures together and made lots of happy memories. Sadly, dogs just don't live long enough. I think they should live to about 30 😅 Thanks for watching our video.
Probably 10-min to convert it into a bed, and 20-minutes to convert it back to a living room. It takes a bit longer for me when converting it into a living room as that's when I do my daily clean. If I didn't have so many blankets to faff with (and just a simple duvet), I could probably convert it both ways in a matter of minutes. Thanks for watching and commenting.

My awning tent broke in a storm. It's not a total loss, but it does need a repair before I can use it again. Since then, I moved the toilet into the Pod and I've gotten use to it being in there. Winston can breathe fine under the covers; he sleeps under them most nights. He likes to bury himself under things and will stand pawing at the duvet until someone lifts it up for him to go under 😂 Thanks for watching my videos 👍🏼

Hello! A Go Pod would be suitable. It is made for two people and a lot of podders do travel with a dog. But there are a couple of things to note:
1. If there are two people in the pod, then you can only stand up one at a time. The other person will have to stay seated (or laid down if in bed). It’s very crowded with two adults stood in the small area under the pop top.
2. There isn’t an awning that fits the pod perfectly. You can put an awning on the back, but you’re not going to get a tight seal and you need to get a bit creative. (Dare i say it a lady driver).
Does it wobble? Tricky to reverse?
It’s the first (and only) thing Ive ever towed and I find it okay. Because it’s not very wide, I know that if my van will fit through a gap, then the caravan will too. It does sometimes get a bit bouncy, especially if the caravan is empty and very light, but it’s never wobbled or snaked. Reversing wise; I can reverse it easily in a straight line, but struggle around bends when I lose sight of the wheels. Also, because it so short, it reacts very quickly to any movement of the steaming wheel. Sometimes, I just get it close to where I want it to be, unhitch and push it the rest of the way or use the motor mover. Hope that helps.

Mmmm not sure about spreading the food on the ground on your pitch….bit of a rodent/pest risk. I know spaniels are food magnets but still……
