Gary was, and still is, THE EMPEROR of the blues..... His sound, his voice, his groove, his touch, his legato, his bending, his licks, his voice, his soul, his passion, his hands, his breathe, his heart... Gary IS the EMPEROR of the blues, that's all folks... R.i.p.Gary, the man with blues heart..
Gary Moore was and in my opinion IS the GREATEST guitarist ever!. The King of Rock, Jazz, Blues, Heavy Metal and much more!. What a performer and he owned his guitar!. He plays it with no effort at all!. Just absolute effortless playing. I am MAD about this magnificent guitarist. He put all his passion, expression and feeling into his music. He felt and lived it!. He is sorely missed , but what a Legacy he left us!. Just Albums, after Albums , DVD’s and Videos of him in concert live. He wasn’t an Artist he was an “ARTISTES!.”Gaining inspiration from Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton who transcended it completely. Jeff Beck, George Harrison, Hank Marvin and John Mayall. He also cited Albert King and BB King, as influences. Gary has been described as Virtuous by numerous publications. He was and will remain in my eyes THE GREATEST. ❤️🌹😘🙏🏻
Only gary could take a 59 Les paul with a neck like a tree trunk, fairly heavy strings, make it scream, cry and beg and get a BETTER vibrato than anyone ive heard even using a tremolo. BEAST!
There was an astonishing competence about Gary's playing - a kind of assertiveness I am yet to see matched. He played with a 'take no prisoners' approach to his music. By the end of a song, you would be left feeling totally embattled. Damn, this man was good!
@greekfreak1980 Yes, you have the reason, this song was created before Albert king´s had dead. I had the luck and I could see Gary in Bilbao (2008 may be) and was a amazing show.
ohh amazing song, it is clear that this song is dedicated for Albert King because it is not sure that Albert king was born in 1923, in his biography said that Albert was born in 1924. moreover, if you listen in 1:39, Gary sings albert king´s two song, crosscut saw and born under a bad sing. What is your opinions?
I believe that this was written about BB King, born in Mississippi in 1924 (some bios say 1925}. The reference to 'Lucy' is a give away. RIP BB, Albert and Gary.... xxx
Alvy Rivalvy I'm so confused because the birth date and the Lucille- reference made me think of B.B but the licks and the "bad sign"- reference is speaking for albert.... is there any official answer?
It's about Albert King. Alberts Licks, Alberts songs and a classic Albert King bass line. In other versions of this song he actually says "Mr Albert King of the Blues" near the end.

I love this guy! Another one who died before his time. A true artist on the guitar.
