Toton Railway Yard (South End) on 4th November 1991
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is yet more material of Toton Yard taken on 04/11/1991. With copious amounts of MGR trains hauled by a variety of Class 20s, 60s, and 58s and class 31s on ballast and engineering trains also the single DMU unit being used as a route learning car make up for a very interesting period of filming. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material.
Ahhh the memories The good old days. Just superb. Thank you 👍
You're very welcome Liam.....many thanks....Mark
Brilliant, I used to stand on that old bridge as a kid to watch the freight go through. And now today I still head back to Long Tom Bridge even if it is the modern version.
Thank you for sharing your video
Never knew the bridge had a name....fantastic comment....so many thanks and best regards....Mark
One of my biggest regrets is that I moved to the Chesterfield area in the late 80s and never got round to visiting places like Toton, Tinsley and Worksop in their swansong. Thanks to your videos, I get an idea of what I missed out on. Thanks
You are most welcome and many thanks....I too have many regrets where I should have focused on more at the time....mark
Top notch stuff sir! I spend many hours of my life spotting here 'in my head' utilising my many Toton model locos i painted during this time period. Could watch TO traffic for days on end! Many locos of which my ex g/f commanded, albeit a bit further south :D
Many thanks DJ....much appreciated....more is to come.....Mark
Everyone chasing Choppers now in their twilight months of operation.
Yes, that was also my goal, I only wish that I had chased the 40s and 25s in their swansong days....many thanks as always Duncan....Mark
