- Hi! This is part 2/3 of the solo trip to the islands of Terceira, Faial, Corvo and Flores. I stayed on a campsite - there is one campsite, near the airport!
There is one village on the island. Find out all the facilities and institutions Corvo has!
Then, we hiked the Caldeira!
Wishing you a wonderful day,
Noemi
There's over 400 people, the island is small but have plenty of interesting spots and stories. There's a whale watch building in the northeast side of the island and lots of terrain to explore by road and paths that go to the north, the landscape here is impressive and there's no people or tourists. This island is a spot where birdwatchers come to see birds that migrate between the Americas and Europe, in the fall, with luck you can see some rare birds that stop in this tiny island to rest. In the top terrain there's wild goats. If you ask there's still one person doing cheese in the traditional way, sometimes he have some to sell. The sand beach is nice and if you walk a bit more there's some impressive pools and cliffs in the coastline. There's Then one underwater reserve for Mero big fish near the harbor. There's two small museums in the village, they can show you how the wooden locks works an how people used to live there.
The views from the trails are incredible, I loved hiking through Corvo. Thank you for sharing all this information, there are a couple things I did not know about!
I spent a few hours on Corvo in 1967. A friend and I walked as far up the volcano as we could in the time we had: the Cargo/passenger boat anchored offshore for just 2 or 3 hours whilst it off-loaded and loaded cargo and people. There was no road, no campsite and certainly no airstrip. We didn't have time to reach the lakes, but we did surprise a lone occupant who was milking a cow. He was astonished to see us as visitors from the mainland were almost unknown. He offered us some of the milk to drink in a rusty old cup, scooping the milk from a rusty old bucket! It was warm, thick, creamy and delicious! But not what we really needed half-way through a steep climb; but we had been advised that it was rude to decline any gift. I was with a University team heading for 3 months on Flores. An amazing and unforgettable summer!
WOW!!! Thank you for sharing!! What an amazing story and memory
What a beautiful place definitely on my bucket list in a few years. Liked the documentation. Good job 👍
Thank you for the feedback, have an amazing day!

WEW. 16:12:2023. I just found out about the Island [Corvo] amazing but did you find out about the Statue that was taken from the Island hundreds of years ago, maybe even a thousand years ago. But I believe it is only a LEGEND/MYTH???
Do you know any other information on this statue? Because I have never heard of it, so I would love to look into it!
ua-cam.com/video/NcOEc31aEqo/v-deo.html @@noemimikleova It may only be a Myth to create tourism. But maybe not. [Reference following posts about the Tartarians.]
Great content! And man, you're cute!
Thank you for stopping by!
Hi Noemi, how long did it take you to walk all the way up to the caldera? Is it 3hours on way or return? Thanks ☺️
I really don’t remember this now sorry 😅
I wonder what the 500 locals there would think of Las Vegas, USA....where there's parties every night and unlimited buffets and overeating every day.
Es continental?
Corvo is an island! :)
