I had a terrarium in 1972. It had a lid on it to hold in the moisture. I guess it acted like a rain forest. It lasted a very long time. Yours is beautiful.
You are amazing Christopher! What a beautiful way to bring outdoors to the indoors! My Mom has been wanting to create one of these for the longest time. I’m definitely going to show her your video! Violets are her favorite and I know she’s going to love this! Thanks for the idea!
This brings back memories when I used to make them years ago. I love the colors and type of plants you used and how meticulous you are in arranging it. I would love to see how it is growing in a future video. Enjoy your week and weekend and thank you! 🌱🌺🌱
Hi Christopher you bring me so much joy when I see your videos I learn so much from your videos am happy know I now how to make a terrarium I'm so glad you did this one thank you always for sharing my blessing 🙏🥰🌹
Oh my goodness dear, that is so beautiful. As I was watching you put it together, ❤ it reminded me of a forest. It was so calming to watch this video and gave me a sense of peace and tranquility. I am going to make one of these for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day. Thank you for all your great videos.😘 your so inspirational. Love and blessings.
Very beautiful Christopher. So beautiful. The terrarium looks so lovely. It is a beautiful addition to your home. You are so creative! The African violet is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Your ideas are so creative and wonderful!!
Hi Christopher! This is exactly what I was looking for! I want to make a terrarium with plants n make a a fairy garden! Thank you for your lovely demo on terrarium
❤ You're a BRAVE man to make your terrarium on the display, next to your record player! I used to make them when I was a kid, we had plenty of mosses to pick from the creek and weird old tools to use like long-stem spoons and thin iron files. I even made one with doll furniture in a wine bottle! Of course, I had to work outside due to the mess 🙃
Hi Christopher...Bringing nature indoors is so warming! Your Terrarium is "naturally" beautiful and what a site to look at in the home! You did a superb job by adding color with the African Violet! Definitely a "wow" factor!
Wow!! I'm so glad you did this one! I bought a terrarium at Hobby Lobby and it was delivered today. So thank you because you gave me some wonderful ideas 💡
Your terrarium is beautiful, and I am inspired to try my hand at terrariums...thanks Christopher!!! Hope you and Tim are doing well and enjoying life and spring!!! Big hugs!!! 🍃🤗🍃
Hi Christopher 🙂. This is a lovely terrarium, I do have a question for you though. I love African violets, they are ‘old fashioned’ in my mind, and I’ve always loved that. The possible problem you may have encountered is that African violets do not like to get wet. The leaves actually develop a ‘burn’ looking injury on their leaves when they get wet. It is recommended to water them from below. Did you encounter this issue with yours after spraying it?
Hi Janice! The leaves on the African violet look good still - I am very careful not to over water the terrarium though & I use a regular watering can now instead of the mister (to keep the glass clear & because I use the watering can for my other house plants). I've only had to water very lightly a few times since it was planted about a month ago and just check in, feeling the soil under the moss to make sure it hasn't dried up :) - Christopher
My first thought, was how many a violet I've killed by top watering, and accidentally drips on the leaves. I now have mine in hobnail milk glass "planters", and always lift it out and put water in from the bottom. That's a beautiful specimen, and a wonderful project. I'm hoping it lives a long life.
I had read that violets were a good plant to put in a terrarium, but I had always heard they need to be watered from the base. I may try to plant one in my terrarium to see how it does. Yours turned out beautiful, Christopher.
Very nice! Aren’t you concerned about the African Violet leaves being wet? Usually they don’t tolerate drops of water on their “hairy” leaves. Mine was very picky about that.
Hi Lisa, the music in this video is: Vinyasa - Chris Haugen Road Home - VYEN Good Times - Patrick Patrikios For copyright reasons I muted the record music that was in the record player :) - Christopher
@@ChristopherHiedeman what I meant was I saw your record player in the background playing a record and was curious which album you were listening to! Lol
Thanks Karen! They should last a while. The difference between terrarium container plants and regular, single container house plants is that the plants in terrariums just have to be pruned so they don't overcrowd the space :) - Christopher
Looks nice iam quite interested how the usambara violet turns out in the future. They are very easy to care I had one for years. Iam not quite sure how the farn will do. I made a terrarium a couple of years ago with farns and they died very soon, sadly.
Hi Armin, I hope everything does well together! :) I put this together a little over a month ago and everything is doing good so far - the variegated plant is reaching out of the top now :) - Christopher
Cool nice. We'll think I had a bad soil, I mixed sand and earth together. Well, now i bought a finished plant terrarium at a supermarket and it grows very well.
The world needs more people like you, Christopher! Wishing you a beautiful Spring season.
The moss is a perfect way to finish. Thank you so much - you've answered my problem

Great video, how fern survives in indoor conditions on open terrariums?

Hi were did you get the sprayer nice that
💝💝💝💝
Hi Christopher. Will the watering is cause the moss to mildew?.
Hi Yvonne, I don't believe so. I use moss to cover the soil in many of my planters indoors and haven't had a problem yet :)

Worried about your choice of African violet I thought not suppose to get plant wet
gotta watch that water touching african violet leaves!!!!!!!
