Cole Swensen reads her poems “Ship,” "Ducks," and "Aught," excerpted from her 2024 Griffin Poetry Prize-longlisted collection, And And And (Shearsman Books).
Cole Swensen is the author of 19 books of poetry, a collection of hybrid poetic essays, Art in Time, and a volume of critical essays, Noise that Stays Noise. A former Guggenheim Fellow, recipient of the Iowa Poetry Prize, the SF State Poetry Center Book Award, the National Poetry Series, and the PEN USA Award in translation, she also translates poetry and art criticism from French. She divides her time between France and the USA.

The five shortlisted books for the 2024 Griffin Poetry Prize will be announced on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 10:00am ET.
The winner will be announced at the Griffin Poetry Prize Readings to be held in Toronto on Wednesday, June 5, and will be awarded $130,000. The other shortlisted finalists will each receive $10,000.
