I am doing MD program in a Bulgarian Medical Univeristy. After finishing MD, we'll receive a diploma but no separate internship certificate. May I know if I will be able to register with Full GMC Registration after completing the MD program and doing FY1 and FY2 in the UK or will I have to take PLAB and then register with the GMC?

Hello! I have a question. Here in Colombia we do a whole year of internship, but the first 6 months we have to do it here in Colombia, those first 6 months we obligatorily rotate in 6 areas of medicine (surgery, emergency, gynecology... etc) the other 6 months we can go anywhere to do our selective internship in a specific area or the areas we want (the period should be at least 2 months for an area). Do you know if in the Uk i can do that just by following the steps you mentioned? Thank you

Yes it would depend on the specific hospital/trust as some places don’t allow longer than like 6 weeks and some are liniment so it honestly depends. But worth trying x

I can’t speak for other countries but the UK the people are nice and helpful because they agree to supervise you etc. It also depends on the hospital and doctors so my experience could be completely different to someone else 🤷🏾‍♀️

Yes,
Internships are for doctors who have graduated and are starting out the Foundation program.
Electives are for doctors still in medical school. I also had an elective done in the UK. I share my experience and the process if that’s something you’d like to see.

Hey! It all depends on the trust and how long they allow you. Mine is 20 weeks but some only allow upto 6 weeks etc. So it’s best to email them and find out.

Hey yes it is especially if you plan on working here. You just do everything I’ve outlined in the video. Try and find an internship in a hospital and learn the job. Then apply for F1 jobs if you’re newly qualified. You will also probably have to the plan exam.
