Great instructor and great landing by the student. My instructor always acted like he has PTSD from Kuwait on approach. I think he must have hit the prop. Now that its been 20 years and a couple thousand hours later for me I can say, this is how instructors need to be.
It was whenever I learned that slow flight compliments final approach that I’ve not only learned how to nail all different kinds of landings, but felt like I could actually control the plane
If i was an instructor i think I'd like to see some combined short and soft field work first, where she has to operate on the back side of the power curve.
How come the instructor didn't tell the student to trim nose down That's what it should have been saying always fly your aircraft in trim for the airspeed or descent rate that you're shooting for.
I mean , i dont want to be a dick but if the 50 ft obstacle was half a mile vefore threshold ya sure. Checkrides nowadays don't really promote chop and drop techniques
Not until you don't have to remind her to keep the proper airspeed + nose down. When the instructor doesn't have to say anything then and only then is someone ready for solo.
