Pepperdine Tour- My First Time on Campus! (8/20/12)

- The reason I'm acting super obnoxious in this is because it was my FIRST TIME seeing the campus! I never came to tour it, because it's been my number one choice for so long. I almost hate uplaoding this, because pictures and videos CANNOT capture Pepperdine's beauty- you have to see it to understand how gorgeous our campus is. I feel insanely blessed every single day to be going to school here: amazing people, super small class sizes (my biggest one has 18 ppl), so many worship opportunities, so many service projects to get involved in- it's absolutely perfect here and everyone looks like a model, haha! It's so easy to get over-involved and immersed in campus life, but I PROMISE I will keep uploading weekly or bi-weekly videos- keep sending me requests :)

I know this video was uploaded forever ago, but really quick funny story… So, my dad went to college there and when we visited the campus last year he took us all around on an awesome tour and we got to meet all his friends and professors from when he was there. But, when we pulled in he stopped by the big green hill as you are driving in. Then, he told us about him and his 2 best friends sliding down that hill on lunch trays when the sprinklers went off. He said they got in so much trouble, but it was one of the most memorable things he'd done. I'm happy for you for getting to be there. It's truly amazing!

I'm considering going to this college when I graduate even looking at the pictures and the online cameras on the website this campus is absolutely beautiful. This is my dream college, it has all the classes I want and its in a wonderful area.

If Zoey 101 was there how did they get the time to film while the ppl were at school or was the school not even real when Zoey 101 was filmed?

That's how much tuition + room & board is. I'm on a bunch of scholarships tho, so I have an almost full-ride. But epperdine is a really good school- #55 in the nation.

We're not finished decorating our dorm yet! But there will be a tour when it's finished :)
I hope you know that Zooey 101 was filmed here they actually while the the school was empty and everyone was on summer brake thay took all the signs down and put PAC every where

I go to Pepperdine, it's a great school especially if you're looking into business, sports-med, chemistry, math, poli-sci, or communications/HR off the top of my head. Impossible to study at though, even the library has a perfect view of the ocean(as well as about 1/3 of the freshman dorms.) SAT score and GPA aren't absolutely everything when applying (unlike the UCs for example), really emphasize your leadership skills, drive, and write a good essay. They do read them! Good luck!

its so interesting hearing someone like you, who is christian and was raised that way, talk. just because a lot of christianity and religion slip into your every day life! not judging you or anything, its just very different from how I conduct myself and was raised (I was raised in an atheist household). anyway, congratulations on getting into Pepperdine!! you seem to be loving it there from your recent vlogs. wish you all the best in your future endeavours :)
Everyone I've talked to about a meetup: my parents, sister, friends, roomie is SUPER against it, because they're scared for my safety. So a meetup may happen in a couple years, but not anytime soon. Then again, I could just grab some Eaton guys to be body guards! (Eaton is my favorite guy's dorm here :)

Just got accepted! Never thought I'd get in! I used to always see it in my way to the beach as a child and think "I wanna go there." Now if I can just get a scholarship...haha otherwise I'll be leaving beautiful California for Florida Southern College (still beautiful, just far)

Dude you're so lucky, i still need to finish my application! there in reading season right now, the admissions team is reading all the freshmen applications right now. I went to visit the campus today, it was incredible! and the staff is so friendly! Good luck! hope you get accepted! I also need to pray that i get accepted too!

This is my response to a tumblr question a year ago, similar to your question:
"Pepperdine is amazing! Everyone who goes to Pepperdine says “So blessed” all the time, because Pepperdine is the best environment & everything about it is exceeding my expectations! There’s this community atmosphere where you feel so encouraged & supported by friends and Professors and the people who check out your food in the cafeteria. The student body is very service-based and it’s inspiring how much people care about God and serving other people. The class sizes are super small! About 9 or 10 is an average class size. There are a couple larger lecture classes that’ll have 60 or 100, but even in those classes the Professor’s know me by my name. The Professors are AMAZING. ALL of them! I refer to every Professor I have as “my favorite Professor.” They invite you over to their homes and care about you as a person, going out of their way to meet up with you in their office to go over any material you don’t understand. The University is always hosting epic free events on campus. This year, we’ve had carnivals, food trucks, free T-shirts, an ice skating rink, and various bands (including Imagine Dragons!!) brought on campus FOR FREE. We had finals this week, so last weekend they brought therapy dogs on campus for us to pet. It’s just amazing how much Pepperdine cares about the students. You’ll never be just a face or just a number; the University knows you as a person and cares about your soul. Being located in Malibu means that Pepperdine has the most gorgeous campus! You walk around outside and have this breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean all the time. The people here are beautiful too! Everyone and everything about Pepperdine is amazing. I am SO BLESSED to be here. You should come!"
