- Update from Norm’s daughter Sarah Edwards.
My dad was moved out of the ICU and into a regular room. He is also walking up and down the hall. While a short walk might seem minor - please remember that his insides have been completely redesigned and he had entire parts removed.
He’s pretty down right now and tells me that minutes feel like hours.
We’re still waiting to find out whether or not he will need to do chemo.
The woman in this video is Dr. Alexandra Gangi. She is the miracle worker who performed the 14-hour surgery on my father. She specializes in his rare form of cancer. I’m eternally grateful to her and all of the wonderful doctors and nurses here.
In this video she tells a funny story about wearing a Norman’s Rare Guitars sweater last week.
Thank you for all the love and support! When my dad seems especially down, I read him the comments and it keeps him motivated to fight this battle ❤️

I was in the hospital recently for Triple Bypass and seeing him walking in the hall (bed hair and all) brought back so many memories of them getting me up to walk ... It seems like so long ago but it's only been two months ! Wishing you a speedy recovery !

I have never commented on a youtube video before but I am after this ... Norms' store videos were a key part of getting through the worst days of the pandemic and always make my day better. I am so happy Norm is still staying in touch with all of us and not hiding away. An amazing guy
Great job Norm! That first big post-op walk sucks but the more you do it the sooner it leads to walking out the door. Hang in there buddy to quote Red Green "I'm pulling for ya!"

Norm hope you recover quickly, I been there myself, rare form of tumor, one in a million I heard, 9 months after the surgery (it lasted 8 hours ) still can't get over what happened still I'm not healthy but it's important to keep fighting, life can be so hard, just wish the least amount of suffering and hope you get back to your family and what you love very fast, cheers from Argentina

Norm, you're looking a bit rough around the edges, but you are able to move. This is extremely good. Been laid up many times myself and the very best thing you can possibly do is move around and get the heart pumping and the blood flowing. Glad to see your up, keep at it. I have a lot of respect for Norm. He shows such strength of character. I've suffered from illness my whole life. I was diagnosed with lymphoma when I was 19 years old, so I can empathize with what he's going through. It's great to see a smile on his face and him moving about. My prayers go out to Norm, his family and his shop family. Norm's videos always bring a smile to my face. He's sorely missed.
Thank you for sharing and I'm sorry for what you've had to go through. I can't imagine. We've only spent a short time in the hospital and if I never see a hospital again - it will be too soon.
@@SarahHarrisContentMarketing Hi Sarah. Thanks so much for the reply. It meant a lot. I've had a rough few weeks. I have spinal stenosis (a degenerative condition that compresses your spinal cord). I've barely been able to move the last week because the pain is excruciating. I spend my days reading and watching UA-cam videos (anything guitar related). I watch Norm's videos everyday. They always cheer me up. Even though I'll never be able to afford a name brand guitar, I like to watch the guitar reviews and live vicariously through Lemmo and the crew. I sincerely pray Norm is comfortable and that he has a quick recovery. Modern medicine really can work miracles. May God watch over you and your family. Please give Norm my best. Chris.

Way to go Norm. I had a bout of MS last week that had me walking in crippled to my infusion. Illness can cut the legs right out from underneath you, but it’s our indomitable spirit, and our loved ones that enable us to rally back. I can tell that you are much loved. Some of this 💊, and a whole lot of ❤️! I wish you the best. Remember that you have a big reserve even when you temporarily lose faith. Never give up!

Norm! I had a lot of parts removed about 10 years ago. Still kicking. Walking is the best way to recover. Build up your laps around the nurses station and then when you get home, laps around the block. All the best! 😎
