thank you so much for this video! I have spent quite a few days binge watching notion formulae videos, none of them were effective but I really love this, super structured and organized. And you look like a really warm teacher, it looks like teaching comes very naturally to you haha This video deserves so many views since it is better than many PAID courses. Thanks again!
Thank you so very much! I haven't checked much tutorials on youtube but yours definitely helped me enough to not go anywhere now :p I followed through it all and now can make my own notion templates. Thank you again for this amazing free course!
Thank you for the video. I think you've adjusted the size of the text (or maybe because I'm watching in my bigger monitor), but, I appreciate it if you did 🙂
I don't know why for some reason the formula at 1:03:25 doesn't work when I do it even though i did every thing right. It just show me blank box no matter what changes i do the formula and I also realize that the version in which you taught formulas and the Version of Notion i'm currently using is different so maybe that could potentionally cause a problem. Your guidance is much appreciated! and your video have taught me more about notion than all the other youtuber combined.
Thanks for this video Matthias! Very clear. Do you know how to merge a start date column and an end date column to one column having is then show as start and end date? Or is this not possible at all?
You can certainly do that, but as of now, it can only be as a string result not as a true date format that can be shown in a calendar unfortunately :-/
What timestamp are you referring to? ☺️ In general, you need to add the quotation marks to indicate it’s a string, so that it actually prints out the brackets 😇
Hey Matthias, need your help! let's say i have a formula property(Time) showing current date and time by adding now() i want to add another formula property and want it show an automated greetings message such as good morning (if prop(time) is from 5 am to 11:59 am), good afternoon (if prop(time) is from 12 pm to 3:59 pm) and good evening (if prop(time) is from 4 pm to 4:59 am) Is this possible? Can you please give the formula? Thanks in advance 🙂🙏
Hey there Mathias, is there a way to run a formula which looks at whether a field contains specific values? e.g. if a project is related to multiple people - to run a formula which puts a checkbox next to all the pages that contain a specific person?
Not entirely sure what you mean but you can quite easily check for conditions usually! My very first video ever explained how to do that, that should help you achieve your goal 💪🏻 Create beautiful Statistics in Notion using the Checkbox Method ua-cam.com/video/RELH3bQdcPk/v-deo.html
@@mfreihaendig thanks! the contains() function is what i was looking for :) i really appreciate these videos. you've made this world a better place - thanks so much

Awesome, super happy to hear that! Best of luck with your templates 😇
Thank you so much! This video was the only one that was super helpful for me in understanding notion formulas.
Oh really appreciate to hear that! Hope it wasn’t too complicated since they just updated and changed them 😅
Best video on the topic on the Internet. Period.
So happy to hear you like it! 😇
Brilliant video, Matthias. Brilliant channel! Vielen Dank!

Are you using an app to manage timestamps? 😍
No... This is how I learn something... To make a note + timestamp 😀 @@mfreihaendig

I did! Opened Notion in the browser with 150% zoom for this one ☺️ glad to hear that it helped!
Great, it helped indeed 🙂
Lovely Video, but please use Dark mode now
Haha sorry I‘m Team Light Mode 😎

To do so, you’d use formatDate on the two different columns and then concat to combine them
i know this is a rly dumb question but why do we need to put empty brackets like this “()” ? 😭
What timestamp are you referring to? ☺️
In general, you need to add the quotation marks to indicate it’s a string, so that it actually prints out the brackets 😇
i get that but why do we have to put brackets when we are writing the formula? does that make sense? i’m a math noob 😭

Sure thing! You can use formatDate(now(),“H“) to get the hour of the day (from 0 to 23). Then, just use nested if formulas to say if(hour
@@mfreihaendig cool... thanks
