    Construction is way too expensive if you don't supervise. Well done and keep it up 👍👍👍

    Next time you should tie the concrete cover spacers to the reinforcement mesh wire cause they were falling out which defeats the purpose. Great work 💯

      I doubt there will be a next time but if somehow I do stuff like this again I'll definitely remember to tie the spacers.

    Hi, nice video there, good 👍 job 👏 .
    If 1 truck brings 4 cubic meters, how much truck needed to finished this floor??
    Thnks for this video...

    • @diybuilderza
      @diybuilderza  Рік тому +1

      There were 6 trucks in total. Each truck came with 6 cubic meters of concrete. I had originally ordered 34 cubic meters but for the final truck, which was supposed to bring 4 cubic meters, I phoned the plant and asked them to add another 2 cubic meters. I'm not sure why I made this decision because I had measured and re-measured everything on multiple occasions.
      Anyway, in total 36 cubic meters was delivered in 6 truckloads of 6 cubes each.

    @diybuilder how do you calculate the quantity of ready mix concrete needed? if let's say the depth of your foundation is 600mm and the total sqm is 226? If possible please share the size and sqm for the one in this video. Tnx

    what is it you are doing with that hose connected to the generator?

    • @diybuilderza
      @diybuilderza  Рік тому +4

      Hi, we used that hose and generator to vibrate the concrete so that any bubbles of air trapped in the concrete mix can bubble out. Concrete should be solid as much as possible (at least concrete for this purpose) so if there are large pockets of air trapped inside there'll eventually be caves in the concrete once it's dried and this might impact the overall strength.
      You'll notice in the video some air bubbles coming out confirming that there was air inside the concrete.
      The hose is called a "concrete poker" it's a metal type thingy that vibrates and the generator is called a "drive unit" it sends the vibrations to the poker. Both are needed to operate but there are other handheld concrete pokers that are more portable.
