In my opinion, you need to excell in Reading and Listening because these will enhance your overall score, whereas in Writing focus in grammar, answer the questions properly (don't goo off the topic), and Task 1 is also pivotal. Then, for Speaking, as long as you can understand the questions and the examiner catches your answer, I am sure your score will not be below 6.5.
I agree that making a some note about the vocabulary that we don't know help us notice exactly why we cannot answer the questions, like the corner I know the meaning because I try to practice this strategy.
