3. Melbourne Olympics was held in the year 1956, and not in 1959. Olympics are held every 4 years. In 1948 India played their first International Football match as in Independent Nation against the mighty France. And lost the match 2-1 after putting in a valiant fight, thus making their exit from the competition. The next edition of Olympics was held in 1952 in Helsinki, Finland. In this edition India were handed a 10-1 defeat against Yugoslavia.
4. You said that India never won any medal after 1962 games. However, in 1970 Tehran Asian Games India still won a Bronze. It was dissatisfying for India at that level. But it's a dream for today.

Toss factor, dew factor, pitch factor, conditions of playing ball, these are some examples.. Each team gets 10 different types of advantages and disadvantages in this game.
There is huge difference when bowling in 1st innings & bowling in 2nd innings.
Some teams gets more advantages than others In each and every games.. Specially in day & night matches.
The ball was not being gripped properly.. The pitch changed it's nature after a certain time..
