Okay, this is seriously amazing. This is the iconic song of a generation, and I can't imagine more different genres than opera and hip hop, but she nails the transition. At first I was thinking, Oh No! You can't dip your toes into rap! But by the end she had made it her own. Bravo. Bravo.
The greatest thing I have seen in months. Watching it in the show context is even more amazing. When is Best Singers coming to the states? Yes US is big but do it by region and move year after year. Start here in Alanta, then move on to Chicago, LA, New York, Nashville, Austin. All have their own music scenes with a mixture of local and import talent.

I started watching Beste Zangers because of Floor Jansen, and to this day she has been the star and the most shocking one for me. But today Maria joined her. So great and versatile.
The best way to start a day is listening to this incredible version of Lose Yourself - Normally covers don't add to the original, but Maria Fiselier gave it a whole new dimension. She is great!

Ik vind dit zo krankzinnig goed gedaan... een operazangeres nota bene. Daar zitten heel wat uren studeren in. Je ziet ruim 4 minuten lang het ongeloof in de ogen van alle toeschouwers, het is onwerkelijk. En bij Maria zelf lijkt het wel of Emminem in haar huid is gekropen en zodra de laatste toon valt floept hij er ook weer uit. Super gedaan! Ik kan er naar blijven kijken...

@@ronkalkhoven2119 Beste slaat niet op de beste zangers van Nederland, anders was het na ca 3 seizoenen wel bekeken, je kunt immers niet onbeperkt door blijven gaan met een show Beste zangers noemen als het om de crème de la crème zou gaan. Dan zou het toch echt maar om een zeer select groepje zangers/zangeressen zijn gaan.
In 2020 is de show al aan zijn 13e seizoen begonnen dus kun je echt niet meer spreken van de beste zangers. Wat ik sowieso altijd een verkeerde titel voor de show heb gevonden, het zet veel mensen, ook buitenlanders, op het verkeerde been.
Trouwens zoiets als 'de beste' is puur subjectief, wie bepaald immers wie de beste is en dan is dat nog steeds maar een mening.

En door deze uitvoering versta ik het nu eens goed. Wat mij betreft indrukwekkender dan het origineel. Maar tsjonge, wat staan er ook een topmuzikanten omheen....let er maar eens op! Stuk voor stuk kakstrak. Die drummer die zo droog mept. Er zitten daar blazers aan de linkerzijde, hoe geweldig doordacht is dat! Hoor je ze? Echt super. En die achtergrondzangeres, wie is zij? Wat is ze goed daar! Heerlijk om haar te zien. Ik heb deze video toch wel heel vaak achter elkaar gezien, wat een uitzonderlijk goede performance. Wat een kwaliteit. Wat een krachttoer vanaf 03:00. Deze performance is zo bijzonder. Een opera-zangeres die zo strak dit doet....gewoon met open mond een WOW! Ook dank aan de regisseur van de beelden, al het mooie gevangen. Die achtergrondzangeres die uit haar bol gaat, ook al zie je alleen haar schouder. Petje af, goed gezien. This clip misses the walk to stage - where she is apparently very nervous - and she gets on her stage - deep breath - and as if a switch is flicked - boom - different personality. I was - and still am - totally impressed by this performance. Wonder what Eminem thinks of this version.
