I've always said Venti is actually deeply depressed, and this I think adds to it in my eyes. He always wears a happy mask, and unlike Zhongli, who shares a drink to remember, Venti drinks to forget.

Yeah i've taken notice to a lot of alcoholics within Genshin to usually being people overindulging to escape some form of reality they don't wish to deal with. His story quest aided in that viewpoint of mine quite a bit.
no actually venti in his character story said that he drinks so he could remember the old times, just like zhongli

Venti sounds so familiar with him, I love that this confirms that they’ve been acquainted for a long time. I feel like Xiao definitely does know that Venti is Barbatos as well
yeah, xiao didn’t even seem shocked that venti was there. he seemed a little surprised, but that’s about it. and i also agree that he knows venti is barbatos since he didn’t talk to baizhu and qiqi, and that little girl (probably because of his karmic debt) but talked to venti just fine. it’s likely that venti’s been helping with his karma for a while, maybe ever since xiao’s character teaser came out
i mean, he does have a voiceline about venti. "venti? so that's the name he goes by. his tunes are... forget it"
They did know each other tho. Xiao voice lines indicate he know Venti
@@tartagliasjigglydworshipper true but i was mostly referring to his teaser where venti just appears but it’s not clear that they know each other from just that. I feel like this clarified the gap that video left behind, but yeah he definitely does confirm that he knows Venti well via his voicelines

As an Anemo archon, it seems like he keeps to his word that the wind will protect and guide them in disguise.
I'm not surprised now that Venti pops up almost everywhere in the continent as long as there are events. Free spirited Archon and the OG wanderer.

Xiao is collecting the best looking cut scenes and animations in the game like Thanos collecting infinity stones. First the chasm quest ending cut scene, now this clean af animated short.
It was so unexpected to get such a great animation, Baizhu, Qiqi and most importantly Venti and Xiao interaction
I wondered if Xiao was ever going to get a proper Teaser, since his is a quest cutscene, and we got THIS. ITS SO GOOD 😭👏
Fr out of all the five star teasers he never got to have one purely of his own. The closest was his story teaser, different from the rest of them but still served it's purpose i suppose.
This feels exactly like when Ayaya rerun and they drop a trailer of her out of nowhere

Yep. Xiao knows Venti is the anemo archon and the one who saves him. That's why I am excited for their interaction. I wonder if they will say anything about the past when he saved him through his music.
[Edit: Also I think this trailer being connected to lantern rite just fits in. Remember when they said during lantern rite is where the energy of the evil gods remains being most active so Xiao had to perform a Nuo dance to purify it everytime? This just show how during Lantern Rite, there is someone out there who is sacrificing his all to protect the people to fulfill his duty). He was always alone during this time but seeing the latest trailer. It seems he will be accompanied by others now. So this will be interesting for his character. This is why I love Xiao so much. There's always a felt of progression and satisfaction seeing him take a step to mundane which his fellow fallen Yaksha wasn't able to do
did u notice how venti smelled rice wine on xiao which means he accepted the rice wine from the grandpa of the little girl.. he's getting comfy 🤧🤧🤧

also one of the Archon that travels other nation ON-SCREEN with Gnosis of a Queen i think Monstadt will be the most important nation of all cuz of Venti everything will fall back to Monstadt when the story unfolds probably bcuz theyre the Gate to Celestia which would led to Barbatos death
Finally someone who thinks like me! I’ve been saying this every time Venti appears on screen. He has the Queen Gnosis and as u already know, the Queen moves wherever she likes. He also pretends to be a fool around everyone and never says a thing about himself. Only about others that mattered to him. Also think about this! Of all regions in Tevayt why does the Traveler (AKA MC) start at Monstadt. Also why do we find Paimon in Monstadt as well? It always goes back to where u start! I’m not sure if u guys will understand what I’m trying to imply. All I’m saying is that Venti is deff not weak and is very suspicious.

Interesting actually maybe xiao didn’t like to attend lantern rite because of the karmic debt might take over him. Maybe this lantern rite he might finally enjoy because of venti and the music calming his karmic debt. Hello as well ^_^/
The reason why he used to dislike the Latern Rite is because the evil spirits or demons activity quickly rises during that same date as the celebration. It's basically extra work for him and stress.
I loved this trailer a lot! Just seeing characters interact with each other really fleshes out the world. Makes it feel authentic in that it's got that lived in feel with the characters really living and interacting with one another.

This teaser is amazing plus the animation was lit! More about Xiao and his karmic debt, Qiqi carried him and tried to gave him medicine, first time we get to see him interact with Venti! We need more of this and hoping to see more of Xiao and Venti (also Venti and Zhongli) interact with each other in 3.4 patch. This short trailer was amazing!
- Hearing Xiao actually saying out loud that he wants to have a rest tonight is surreal. Character development! (is what I say to myself to ignore the possible death flag interpretation)
- Baizhu is, indeed, holding a Sumeru Rose. Will be super funny if it turns out to be his ascention mat :D Will be easier to farm, too.
- The fact that Venti can smell wine on Xiao means that Xiao accepted the rice wine pudding instead of running away immediately c:
- If this vid is a lead-up to the Lantern Rite, what I really want for the comedic value is for Xiao to not know that who he met was Barbatos, and then meet him again at the Lantern Rite where Zhongli introduces them to each other :D
And come to think of it, Xiao never actually had his own teaser, no? The cutscene about the five yakshas served this purpose, but he never had an actual teaser in the same style as every other 5*. Two years later, but he finally got one!
unfortunately ppl said that xiao knows who venti is so that one is false of them only being introduced at that time
I'm so happy this came out the blue like it did. It really made my night, especially with all of the rare interactions and the most beautiful combination of the animation and the music.
It did it's job in getting me even more excited for this Lantern Rite! I do hope we get some in depth Pervases lore too! Don't forget to offer incense to his shrine while we wait!
Xiao definitely knows who Venti is. In his character story 5 and in his voice line about him it gets clear, cause he says " venti? so that's the name he goes by" I think that line implies he knew him by another name or identity. Before this trailer we didn't knew if Venti knew Xiao but NOW they seem like they hang out frequently by the way Venti invites him to drink, and also how Xiao says "not tonight".

For Xiao to admit he needs to stop and rest is definitely character development right there. Particularly after chasm. Time we reach end of Teyvet Chapter I hope he does get to dance like he desires and retire to mundane life.
I literally JUST finished the Perilous Trial quest, and I immediately went straight to this trailer so I can finally watch it and man, my feelings towards Xiao are very fresh and strong with watching him go through all this suffering. Losing his Yaksha family and still have to carry the burden of his Karma TT
But oh my god, THE. ART. ESPECIALLY at 2:50! (your vid wise) I am blown away at how Mihoyo never fails to impress with everything they have released. I can't wait to learn more about him and attend my very first Lantern Rite!

Omg I loved this trailer!! Xiao fighting his karma self and Qiqi carrying him to the pharmacy were great details. And we got official Xiao and Venti interaction. Maybe Venti is using the music festival as an excuse to catch up with Xiao and Zhongli
It's called a Short Trailer despite being so long, it's an analogy to Xiao himnself, as someone who is called short by some, is actually the tallest character in the game.

i love this trailer so much, its nice since xiao didnt get his own trailer back in 1.3 but rather was shown for a bit in the yaksha story trailer. its also higher quality than his videos that came back in early 2021 since hyv has been improving their animations/videos since then. i also like how it shows more of his story/how he sees himself

Tsubaki in Thawing Snow type of trailer. They give this to their most popular characters perhaps?
There are some similarities between this video and ayaka's video, which was 8 months ago. First, both videos feature characters that would be available in the next patch during the time of the video.
Second, both are based on one of their character stories, Ayaka's was of the time she recieved her vision, and this video is based on Xiao's struggle with karmic debt and his interaction with Venti. This could mean we could see other character stories being animated. My predictions are Eula or Albedo's time when they first join the Knights of Favonius, or maybe Collei recieving her vision, when she saved someone in the forest.
Genshin's Music Arrangement has always been top tier. Anemo bois continue living and fighting while hiding their unimaginable pains :(

After the 5 yaksha quest in the chasm we understand Xiao's burden more and this hits differently than his first demo. I feel like he's the only one we saw that has interaction with both Zhongli and Venti. Xiao must know Venti since he's one of the original seven archon.
Did we ever get confirmation that it was during one of Xiao's battles that lead to Qiqi dying? Maybe some of that guilt is part of that karmic debt?
Finally Xiao and Venti first interaction since Venti appeared as Xiao's savior for like 3 years ago 😭 looking forward for another scene for them!

ACK! This man makes me suffer heart attacks on a regular basis. I literally hurt for him. Lumine go help him!!!! He's one of my husbandos (Childe, Xiao, Albedo, Diluc, Wanderer, and Alhaitham) so I worry a little extra. I swear my anemo boys need that extra TLC.
