This route is good connectivity between Konkan railway and Central railway department. This route will be used as alternative route in rainy season because land slide events and flood affects are oftenly occurred in rainy season every year and rail timetable of Konkan railway and Central railway department oftenly collapses every year in rainy season. With help of this route ports and Harbour in Konkan region will be connected to all industrial hub cities and religious cities like Kolhapur Satara Pune Aurangabad Parali vaijyanath Osmanabad Pandharpur Latur Jalana Parali vaijyanath Pandharpur Solapur Latur Nanded Adilabad Govalkonda Hyderabad Bhuvaneshwar Gulbarga Bagalkot and Bellaire by shortest distance. International tourism place Goa and beautiful Konkan region will be connected to rest part of Maharashtra North part of Karnataka Andhra pradesh Telangana Madhya pradesh and Odessa by shortest distance. This route is sanctioned in February 2016 INDIAN RAILWAY BUDGET and hounourable former rail minister Mr SURESH PRABHU Saheb has sanctioned Rs 250 crore to this project but this project is not completed yet.
