I learned to wake surf at 8, my uncle had me start off laying down on the board and I'd scoot myself forward on the board and once I'm on my knees I then went to standing on my feet. Try doing it as an adult, I'll probably hurt myself.

It is hard to say exactly, but I’d have to say none of them are gunna do much harm in practicing, but wakeboarding is a little bit more similar for practice

Biggest thing for beginners trying to get started is to not try and pull yourself up, let the boat naturally pull you out of the water to start
