A buddy and I are spending the month in Philippians reading through the letter each day and sharing thoughts in a shared doc and during our weekly Bible study. This was a good background. I am 67 years old and have heard sermons on this book for over 50 years. I think this, how to read books in the Bible like this, take the cultural framework of the times this book was written, and find out what essence the Lord has for me to grow spiritually. Instead of academic knowledge, let's find out what is being said directly to me. I still wonder about the magnitude of who Paul was, a servant of Christ....but we need to pray that the Holy Spirit speaks to us through scripture

I really appreciated this video. I always thought that there should be a Bible out there that has a video and or preface explaining what is going on at the time the book was written. This would also include the characters so that we would have an introduction to what we're reading. Intros always help.

This is Wonderful ! My father was named Philip (with 1 L) , his son (a Jr.) and a dtr. both male/ female versions with 1 L . I've always been proud of my name sake . But even more now as I've come to live in the Spirit and in the word of Philipians Thank you !

Read the Bible in 365 . Daily reading and understanding would save lives I think. Not very many Christians have read all the way through at least once.
I just began a Bible study in Philippians. It’s our first week. 1.25/22. We have an excellent facilitator. To God be the glory. I’ve been walking with the Lord for over 40 years. I attend regular Bible study classes at church. I’m currently reading through God’s Word. Pray for my 💪🏽commitment to finish well. I have challenged a younger man than o, to do the same. We have the same daily plan we follow. We share our successes 🙏🏽🥰. I’m loving it. I actually have an audio playing and I’m reading along.

Try the ESV Study bible. It outlines the key themes and context of every book in the bible, plus a verse by verse breakdown.
