Hello All! I hope you have been enjoying the music as much as I have! I still listen to my own extensions quite often. I currently have a playlist with my playthrough of SWTOR, if anyone is interested here's a link: ua-cam.com/play/PLtUg9KsqkS8J7UiigI55SQrG4fYpNuA0X.html
I once had a bug where I couldn’t see the map or minimap on my old laptop. After that I know Alderaan by heart from literal full days of running about.
IMHO this is the most memorable and beautiful song in all of the game. It compliments the majesty of Alderaan perfectly. I remember my first time stepping out of the spaceport and how blown away I was as I traveled the mountainous regions as this theme played......it still hits me in the feels to this day.
Developers knew what they were doing when composing this song for Alderaan. Making it sound relaxing and sad at the same time, foreshadowing its fate in over 4000 years. :/
SWTOR is free to play you should give it a go. I played it at launch but stopped as back then I had other games to keep me busy. Now that companies have stopped making epic singleplayer RPG's entirely (my favourite genre.....) I got bored of online shooters and decided to reinstall SWTOR. I am thoroughly enjoying it, made a new character and started fresh. My only tip is to not try to do all the quests, focus on the main story quests. So each class has a class quest, focus on that and each planet has a story arc focus on that as well. Don't do daily missions, don't do flashpoints, don't do heroic missions, just focus on the normal story quests and normal planetary side quests. Don't do bonus elements of the quests unless you want to and don't do bonus planet arcs as those just tend to be really time consuming and repetitive. The story missions and story side quests are really great, some are even really emotional, some will make you laugh and others are just enjoyable. Combat is still fun even today, it plays like WoW but with lightsabers and blasters but luckily that is fun and combat is more interactive and engaging than original KOTOR 1+2 so that is a plus. My only complaint about the game is you can only use one companion at any given time but you can complete the entire main story solo with just the one companion so that is no big deal once you get used to it. Just switch the companion between healer and damage depending on the quest you are doing. But yeah the story, voice acting, cinematics and ability to influence the story arcs with dialogue choices remains fun and unique for an MMO and in many aspects SWTOR can actually be seen as KOTOR 3 especially if you just focus the main quest arcs (and just the story side quests).
I love just how tragic it sounds. It's there for you as the player, because you know the ultimate fate of that world. No matter how many people you help or save, no matter what you do, their memories will burst into the stars because of the death star.
As soon as it started with the theme at 18.25 near the start of when I first got there and first seeing the super lazor weapon I knew for a fact something big was gonna happen in the story, it's so sombre yet probably one of my favourite themes in the game
The part that starts at 6:32 is my favorite.. It has this kind of sad, lethargic vibe, just like a foreshadowing of the destruction of this beautiful planet. I think I'll download swtor later just to play on alderaan :D pure nostalgia. Over ten years since release and so much memories
used to play this when i was an 11 yr old kid now im 19 and in college... remember wandering around alderaan loving how the open world was! listening to this is bittersweet
I remember trying to download this via the physical copy and remember how much of a pain in the ass it was for my dad and I 😂. A few years ago I re-downloaded the game from the website with no hassle. It's funny how hard some things can seem when you're a kid. Now I'm 19 too and I have that same physical version displayed in my room. How times change 😁
@@lieutenantlunar7234 awwww very sweet memories with this game! hopefully disney will make the right choice and integrate SWTOR/ old republic in general fully into the franchise someday lol..
Hard to believe I've been playing since 2012 but I'm only just reaching the end of my first story as a Bounty Hunter. I remember just last week as I was making my way through Alderaan, I'd just beaten a quest and the enemy said one thing that stuck with me. "I'd rather see this planet blown to pieces than submit to the Empire!" In the end, I suppose he got exactly what he wanted, even if it was roughly 4,000 years late.
Every time I land in Alderaan I get a sense of joy. This place is soooo breathtaking and amazing. Then this score hit and I stop what I’m doing close my eyes and cry, knowing what is in store the this planet and it’s people. 🥺
When I first heard the music when I landed on Alderaan it was like a sensory overload of bliss, it was like a channelling of inner thought and peace. I still get radiating goosebumps just listening to it again. Makes it worth it playing SWTOR again. 🖤
played through this planet again last night as a sith and one of the republic troops you talks to says he would rather see his planet blowen apart then see it fall to the empire and that hit me right in the feels............
Ah yes. The greatest track in the game. Beautiful vocals and music against a back drop of "where in the FUCK am I" and "How do I get way the fuck over there" perfect.
Was trying to find ambient music to study with and managed to stumble upon this again Man I miss swtor lol. Ah, Alderaan, the place where royalty and nobility alike are gathered, the place where the most beautiful and majestic mountains live. Probably my favorite planet, I remember coming back to Alderaan just for the sake of exploring the beautiful planet. The nature of this planet is just... Pure bliss combined with the ambient and the exploration damn maybe I should reinstall swtor lol
This comment just blew my mind. I can't stop thinking about that now, the Alderaan songs sound just like something that would be in Skyrim. Nice observation!
The Glarus Vally is named after the Swiss Canton of Glarus. It seems they went for the Swiss Theme with Alderaan. After the ending scene on Alderaan in RoTS had shots from swiss mountains
After witnessing how beautiful this planet is in SWTOR, it makes it's eventual fate in the era of the Empire all the more tragic. All this natural beauty, destroyed in an instant...
The whole game doesn't have such memorable soundtrack, except this. It reminds me of the old KOTOR games and Elder Scrolls, mixed together with Game of Thrones.
@@SurfieExtends Ah, ok. But it seems recycled a bit from the Alderaan one, or the Alderaan one developed from it. Also, they both remind me a bit of the Trilogy soundtrack of the Red Faction game.

I enjoy it quite a bit. Thanks for providing it!
I'm getting flashbacks of constant hours of not knowing where the heck I was going on Alderaan 😂😂.
It's pleasant to get lost on Alderaan
Still better than on Tatooine lol
Nothing better than getting ganged by Killiks while this music plays in the background and you have no idea where you are
@@XiaoLynn Way better.

Ha, blown away. Kind of like Alderaan was.
@@noahmcdonough8275 too soon! 😉
Absolutely
This soundtrack is even sadder when you know what fate has in store for this planet...
Atleast it can't be as bad as Tari-
@@SurfieExtends spoiler alert!!!!
Yeah when I listen to this song and think of Alderaan's fate I almost cried.
You can hear the cries of it's people through this soundtack...
Really drives home what magnitude of an asshole Sidious is.
I will never get over how gorgeous this music is.
You're gorgeous too! Thanks for listening to my extension ^^
@@SurfieExtends Wow, thanks! You made my day.
Me either, it's beautiful
You can fall as sleep while listening to this nice song :)

Alderaan is already sad on it self + you add sad music. It becomes one of the most beautiful places in SWTOR.
Leaving this here for later 9:35 its just when my favorite part starts lol
Just replayed through Aldeeran last night, still maintain it’s the most beautiful zone with the best music in the game.
Man this helps when I'm writing my Old Republic novel "Star Wars: The Old Republic: Havoc Squad and the Great Galactic War
Although I haven't played SWTOR but this is a pretty heart touching song for such a beautiful planet.
R.I.P. Alderaan... You'll forever be missed.

idk man, it's like, just a fictional planet.
Alderaan is a casualty of war. Leia believed the location of the Rebel base mattered more than her homeworld, a high price to pay for hope.
Why is this so beautiful? Such a gorgeous soundtrack. I remember how I was standing in Alderaan and doing nothing just to listen for this
Such an underrated ambience. Alderaan quickly became one of my most favorite planets in this game.
Wow it
Can we get this on Spotify, please! Such a calming and peaceful mix. Loving it!

this video made me log on to SWTOR after a year. thank you.

Alderaan is one of my favorite worlds in this game. I enjoy replaying the Sith Warrior and Smugger storylines on this planet especially.

Dam! I miss swtor so much. My pc isn't up to scratch anymore to play it, and I ain't got the cash to upgrade. I can't wait to get back to swtor again.
I just started to replay SWTOR and Alderan has got to be one of the most beautiful places ever created
Knowing what happens to Alderaan, this just hits real deep. Just seems this planet could never catch a break one way or the other.

Cruising through the forests on my speeder to this is a core memory.
One of my all time favorite soundtracks, of any movie or game. I really really appreciate this extended version

This is the perfect music to put on and get lost in a beautiful mountain side forest, just wander for hours and take the scenery in.

Back here in 2025 - Some songs just captivate you as soon as you hear the first notes being played. Entrancing. Goosebumps every time.
Aye, I was wandering on Alderaan today again due to my class story and felt a wave of nostalgia! Had to check back on the video here afterwards
I broke my habit of this game. Please don't make me want to go back.
A melancholic track for sure. Makes sense considering what happens to the planet thousands of years later at the hands of the Galactic Empire.
I don’t know why, but Aldaraans musical ambience gives me Skyrim vibes....
Im leaving a mark here. For myself in the future and keep remindinh me of this beautifil track in this game.

Absolutely the best Alderaan song after the house of Thule theme
Why this song gives me the same feeling as some of the Ambience from The Witcher 3 :)
Still, I played SWTOR first, and Alderaan is stunning.
Beautiful!!
Alderaan is just one of the most beautiful places in the Star Wars universe, only until it’s blow to hell by Grand Moff Tarkin, the bastard!
Das Elysium ist der allerbeste Ort, um die idyllische Landschaft Alderaans und den Fluss (Glarus) anzugucken.
So beautiful...

MASTERPIECE
Alderaan is basically the planet of Switzerland
What a beautiful planet. Surely it won’t be destroyed by some deadly laser ball
A planet that represented balance and harmony for thousands of years, met its end by a green laser beam made from Kyber crystals.
Amazing….
Absolutely hated the planet, but this theme is just so relaxing
is this on spotify ?
Most if not all ambiences are not available on spotify I'm afraid! Hell I don't even know if the OST is haha
Nostalgy
