The real question is: would Odysseus be wise enough not to make a deal with him? Troy and Cyclops saga? Definitely Ocean and Circe saga? Probably Underworld saga? Bit of a grey area Thunder saga? Probably not WISDOM saga? He's taking that deal, 100%
Eurylochus wasn’t saying abandon the whole crew, just the few men who had been turned into pigs. Because I mean, Eurylochus had no way to know that those men could be turned back at all. Also Odysseus was his brother in law, he cared about him as a friend, and as his captain and king. If Odysseus had run into there and gotten into more trouble that would have been normal for him. Circe doesn’t have just one instrument but “string” instruments. Like a puppeteer. Jorge has mentioned that while Eurylochus’s main instrument is the crew, now and then he will pick up the instrument of someone else. In this song he is accompanied by string instruments… like Circe. Showing her influence in what he’s saying. Also Hermes flirting with his great-grandson is very Greek god of him. 😂
@@felixhenson9926I believe Hermes invented it and then gave it to Apollo. I think Hermes stole Apollo's cattle and gave the lyre to get Apollo's forgiveness
Eurylichus said: think about the men we have left before they are none - that mean don't risk the men we have for the men we may save but probably not.
Which makes no sense to me. The men they have left are TWO PEOPLE! They can't get home on a ship with two people. Unless they plan on making it back on a row boat....good luck surviving Poseidon that way.
@@nothri Circe didn't get everyone, only the people Eurylochus brought to scout the island. That's why he says "Think of the crew we have left." Circe only got like a handful of people.
I dont think you saw the animation when he briefly popped up (you were looking upwards 🤣) but you hear Hermes' musical que in "Puppeteer" when Odysseus and Eurylocus are talking; the harps do this rise and fall melody. Its showing that Hermes' was watching, which is why he starts his song with "what a brilliant speech you gave". Always amazes me that Jay finds these subtle ways to tell the story in the music, really fantastic writing! Excellent video btw 😆
I could be very wrong but my ears keep insisting the feminine voice in the chorus of “Wouldn’t You Like” is Circe herself, Talya Sindel. Which would be a total Hermes move to incorporate a replica of Circe into his backup vocals when she’s the one he wants to undermine. 😝
As far as I'm aware, both Talya and Troy are American but doing English accents for Circe and Hermes. And pretty good ones to be fair, couple of points where you can tell it's not a native accent but a lot better than some attempts I've seen!
Hermes, not only god of messages, but travel, trickery, trade, some other things, and also a psychopomp (a god that brings souls to the underworld) AND also apparently so great at playing the Lyre that Apollo was impressed. Truly, the Greek God equivalent to a DND Bard. The personality they gave him in Epic really fits
The theme we're hearing at the beginning of Puppeteer is actually the tune for Luck Runs Out. I didn't notice that until now, which is awesome. Jorge gave those of us that never read the Odyssey a hint at what happened during the end of Keep Your Friends Close.
LETZ GO, MORE EPIC THE MUSICAL also fun fact: Jorge and Talya (Voice actors of Circe) are dating this was I think they started dating after the musical audition, Idk what it has to do with Epic but it a fun fact:)))
I don't know it if really IS what it is, but the rhytm of the bass beat in basically all of the songs with Circe REALLY reminds me of tango - specifically finnish tango, which is stylistically reminiscent to argentine tango but rhythmically closer to ballroom tango, and has absorbed influences of other dances like habanera and beguine. Though since I am a Finn myself, maybe it's just familiarity with that specific music style overrigin my impression when the reality is some other one that's more likely for Jorge to have used as a Puerto Rican :'D
So fun fact! Idk if anyone has commented this yet, but the gods don't have to rely on people surrounding them for back up vocals :DD They can basically do whatever they want. Only 'mortals', for example eurylochus, rely on the people around them for back up vocals, like the crew!
@rakhimitra2193 read the oddesey please. Or gather context clues. SPOLIERS FROM HERE ON OUT: Eurylochus was written to be very 2 dimensional. From the beginning he goes against everything Odysseus says, he was cowardly in the oddesey specifically, but in both mediums he trusted winions over his Brother in law, his captain of 10 years at that point, AND HIS KING. 43 men were all the remained from posideon's show of power. Once they hit Circe's island, Eurylochus with a group of 22 men set off. He'd lost a majority of the crew and wanted to abandon them. Eurylochus was written to be the antagonist among his crew in the oddesey, and parts of that character bleed through in epic as well.
@@Ajthingsandsuch you do give fair points in this, and for your info, i have infact, read the Odyssey, i unfortunately forgot the little info that Eury took 22 men, i apologise for that sincerely, however, this isn't necessarily the Odyssey, Epic has multiple, and I mean multiple creative liberties taken to fit it's aesthetic, because infact, in the Odyssey, Ruthlessness doesn't exist, Polities is a mere side character that is *not" Ody's best friend, Athena and Ody never have any master student relationship, she only appears to help Telemachus to reunite with his dad, Aeolus being a young-middle aged women and *not* an old man, regardless, EPIC!Eurylochous is a very weird character upon itself, as jorge confirmed in one of his videos explaining him, he doesn't really know what his point is other than his job to protect his crew, and is overall an idiotic character by as you said, trusting EPIC!Aeolus's winions, but what my point is, Is that fact in this specific instance Eurylochous was correct, since infact, of Hermes had not interfered and not gave him Moly, Ody would've been either Dead or a fellow pig.
They were essentially dead. How the hell was he supposed to know that Ody would receive Divine Intervention and be able to turn them back from Pigs into Men?

The beginning of Puppeteer is a slower version of the "Ithaca's waiting/My kingdom is waiting/Penelope's waiting" bit from Full Speed Ahead.
I hear full speed ahead and it ending with “my second in command” interesting
Hermes in Epic solidified Hermes as my favorite Greek god. His voice actor, TROY, is so good.
16:09 my gosh I love this guy’s facial expressions 😂 but fr makes the reaction so much fun to watch 💙
12:11 It's also the same melody from full speed ahead "Ithica's waiting, my kingdom is waiting, Penelope's waiting"
Ody really said "Pause" 4:50
Ody: Pause, rewind, say that again?
She got all the power to puppeter these men, it does not mean she got the whole crew - only the scouts(-1).
