Check your data on the Sichuan Tibet Highway. 29,000 feet is Mount Everest Territory at 29,031.7 feet. The Sichuan highway highest point is the Mount Zhefuoshan Pass at 4,298 meters or 14,101 feet.
Sounds like a mistake a GPT or llama model would make.
@@McTwistedTwisties honestly a couple times in the video, the script sounded like a GPT written script.
yeah...the Tibet highway reaches MAX 15k feet? Everest is at 29032 the tallest place on earth....I don't think a combustion engine would work at that altitude.
@@katrides6792Yeah, anything over around 26,000 ft is known as the ‘death zone,’ where the body essentially starts to die, due to the lack of oxygen. If they built a road that high, it’d have to be done with everyone wearing oxygen.
The highest elevation along the Sichuan-Tibet Highway depends on the specific route you take (Southern Route or Northern Route). Here's a breakdown:
Southern Route
Mila Mountain Pass: This is the highest point along the Southern Route, reaching an elevation of approximately 5,013 meters (16,447 feet).
Northern Route
Several high mountain passes exist on the Northern Route, with elevations exceeding 5,000 meters (16,400 feet). Some notable passes include:
Que'er Mountain Pass: Around 6,168 meters (20,236 feet)
Tanggula Mountain Pass: Around 5,231 meters (17,162 feet)
* As an addendum, I spend quite a bit of time in China. The number of construction projects underway there are truly a spectacle to behold. The data we are able to get in the west is frequently way out of date (around 20 years out of date), so by now there could be completely different roads, tunnels, high-speed trains, etc. that are much higher than previously achieved. If you are ever riding in China, plan your trip with Chinese mapping tools like Baidu and not google or anything based on google.
So many great safety messages in just this one video. Thanks Doodle.
(OK so there might have been a dodgy number or two but that doesn't diminish the safety messaging)
"Distracted Animals" 🤣
Sichuan-Tibet Highway highest motorable point 4,651m (15,259ft) Ye La Mountain, is the highest point. The highest motorable road is Umling La at 19000 odd feet!
yeah so doodle had to drop this video just when I was planning a moto trip to Ladakh. I guess I can manage it though since I have lived near the Himalayas.
The roads are very scary with high risk of rocks falling and sweeping you with them. I used to travel 20kms daily to go to reach school. The roads are so twisty that, kids who were not locals always used to through up during bus rides. The views are breathtaking though.
Recently ItchyBoots also did a tour of Ladakh when she was in India on her aptly named Himalayan 450.
Nice video, Doodle. Thanks for this. From my own experience I can add: Kesselberg Road between lakes of Kochel and Walchen, Bavaria, Germany. Stelvio Pass, Alps, Italy. Asia Highway No.7 between Tak and Mae Sot, Thailand (No.9 deadliest country to ride/drive 32.7 fatalities/100,000 inhabitants (2018), National Road No.4 and No. 2 between Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville, Cambodia. Check also 8:47: This shows a German soldier and Russian prisoners of war, cannot be related to Road of Bones construction.
Excellent presentation, thanks for sharing Doodle!
❤️
I certainly agree with I95; those people get on there and it's Death Race 2000; you don't drive balls-to-the-wall you'll get run off the road. While in PA I was with a friend of mine from Chicago, she did the driving and was she scared! I was sweating the whole trip.
Interesting vid. Being a frequent traveler of 95 i know it's dangers, but some of the roads on here can barely be called roads, but look like they would be fantastic for leaving the bike at home and taking the jeep!
🤙
Excellent video doodle. Did not know the I-95 info.
Always love your vlogs , keep up the great work , hun !
Awesome video! Well done... as always
Thank you kindly, very informative Doodle. 🙂
Cool video of information nice work nga mihi for the share👍🏽
Verywell done Doodle!😍
Your content keeps improving, and one can tell you're doing your homework! This means a lot for the real world out there where everything and everyone is so unpredictable! Even if we might be living in a simulation, we still have to be careful! Be safe out there and take care!
Wake up hun,
New Doodle video dropped.
_shoots up out of bed_ 😮 Nice wake up call.
Lut's go
Great video thank you very well done as always.
I would like to add any road in Memphis Tennessee (during any popular driving times to your list) please. If you are doing the speed limit there, you're going to get creamed and forget about changing lanes. It's too too sad.
Great edition and footage on road of the Bones.
Bravo Doodle always informative the best content blessings 🙌
Awesome job DOODLE! You’re almost ready for prime time TV. Yammie & Ryan better look out! This was entertaining informational, with sensible safety instructions cleverly woven in. Your dulcid tones and beautiful visage are the icing on the cake 🎂
A plus! I wish I could get my daughters to ride!
You're right, TV would also get this many facts wrong.
So when are you visiting South Africa to ride the N 2? 😁 I've ridden it many times.
Very nice, Videos like these keeps the adventure spirit fueled !!
Thanks Doodle for the great info!!!! Course I don't think I'll ever be on any of those roads and I'll make sure to stay away from I-95 except for a short hop around Savannah to Charleston. Ride safe and be blessed!!!
Amazing video. Great job
Good one loved it.
Good video Doodle!
As always an other great video…..thank you
Nice work, that was fun!🙂
my god, I had hit some very sharp turns in Topanga canyon last week and just watching this is really eye opening lol
Great job, I -95 is one I travel when going to Florida. Great info on the rest. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent video
GREETINGS FROM THE PPRC GREAT VIDEO.🇺🇸🏍️
I see that Jacksonville footage. Unfortunately, there has been a significant amount of motorcycle accidents in Jax so far this year.
The 95 highway in North part of Idaho from Coeurd Alane to Boise. The road is kept up but with curves and not a lot of light at night. People miss a turn or being too tired makes it harder.
Very interesting video
My legs were shaking watching that last one. Woah!!!! I'll stick to my Welsh trails.
❤ Love from India 🇮🇳
Best episode of yours I’ve seen. I’d love to ride these. I rode the Silk Road, though.
Damn! Had a couple of points in this where I almost had to stop the video. WAY too close to the edge of some of those 1000-foot dropoffs!
Doodle: Just excellent. This kind of scientific, no-nonsense overview is something riders - and drivers of all types - need more of, ESPECIALLY the speed warnings.
What's scientific about a 29,000 feet high highway?
Super Akka❤❤❤❤❤❤
29 000 feet above sea level ... when did that mountain grow ?
Did GPT hallucinate up some non existing stuff again
Doodle like the discovery Channel here great job
Definitely not for me! i didn't realize the death tolls were so high.. We are blessed greatly with our roads here in the states! Thank you!
Hi Doodle. The highway cannot be that height, Mt Everest is 29,031ft 8½. Sorry to correct you. Love your channel.
0:44 No wonder so many people climb Mount Everest; there's a highway that goes to 30 feet under its top.
Whoa! I rode taroko gorge in Taiwan when I took mordeth13's tour. Beautiful country!
Hi Doodle!
I wanted to hear you say, "El camino de la Muerte" for the Bolivian road
Who follows a pipe truck at 3 ft on ANY road, let alone a deadfall pass?
Note that the Dalton Highway in Alaska isn't known as Alaska Hwy 11 anywhere up here - it's other name is the Haul Road. Yeah, our highways have numbers but we never use them - why use numbers when there's only 11 roads total... 🙂
I love riding but would never venture into that dangerous stuff.
Thanks for posting. Maybe a quick correction. In describing the road at the 50 sec marker, you state the road is at 29,000 ft above sea level. Mount Everest as the highest peak in the world is at about 28,000 feet above sea level. A good video nonetheless.
My thought is you gotta decide what you wanna be: a fellow rider telling us cool stuff or our mom, nagging at us to be safe and telling us what to wear or how to ride. Decide; you’re a junior rider, so probably won’t be teaching most of us anything, so maybe drop the lectures and stick with the cool adventures and episodes like this.
A well done video, although not without some errors as other viewers noted regarding the German souldier and the height of that route at the beginning of the video. You stress the No. 1 killer on the US and EU paved roads - speed which is up to us. Some people in the world don't have the same luxury of choice - they have to use those deadly roads as their only way, because they can't afford to commute to work or college by plane.
Most of them have breathtaking landscapes... would be tempted do some of them.
This was interesting. These roads are very scary , unlike the familiar roads I ride near my home in Connecticut. Peace to you and always ride safely. (BTW Connecticut doesn't have helmet laws either.) I do wear a helmet.
I5 in CA has had a number of record accidents for how many vehicles involved. They are the result mostly of Tule fog.
My Dad grew up near the top of the road in Bolivia and traveled on it hundreds of times.
What are the best tips for someone just learning to ride a motorcycle? I always wanted to ride a motorcycle but knowing the dangers I've never invested in one. I'm kinda wanting one now.
Got it, avoid these roads 🤣 Some of those roads look like it would be an absolute nightmare! I believe I-95 is dangerous. The first time i rode it, I about crapped my pants. People absolutely drive like idiots on that road! Great video Doodle!
LOL for real thoooo
For all the trips you've done and tying in with this video, I hope you've read "The Longest Road" by Emilio Scotto. Absolutely fascinating story. Humorous, informative adventure on a bike you would not believe could ever travel 500, 000 miles. Yep, half a million zig zag miles around the world. Should be a copy available somewhere, but if you can't find one, I could mail you mine to a PO Box or safe option, but I MUST get it back
Cool video
Sadly, Flying Eyes only seems to sell prescription glasses to the US. Tried looking into it on their website before, but it's possible I misread what was written.
The most dangerous road in the world for a rider is the one right ahead of them, if they're not paying attention.
Scarey stuff. I was surprised by the inclusion of the N2 in South Africa. I used ride that several times a year when I lived over there and never encountered a problem.
Yes- remind your cat to get off their phone while driving! 😸
Super sketchy roads! wow
#7 Taroko Gorge road is just a section of the “Central Cross-lsland Highway”, and I think your research might be a little inaccurate.
There were actually 255 engineers and workers died in that period, not 450.
But if you add the injured, there were nearly 1000 people.
My last comment wasn’t sent correctly, and I donno why. There must be something wrong about my UA-cam app.
I grew up in the 80's in Beirut, everywhere was a killer road somehow 😂
7:35 that's atlantic blvd lol DUVAL
Taking a second look at this, I figured it looks like somewhere near Arlington Rd. Googled the insurance agent's office and confirmed my suspicion; between Arlington Rd & Southside Blvd.
There are vast numbers of roads (really stroads) where the road design is still largely at fault where it might appear to be solely the human. Also, the number of accidents and fatalities at intersections could be radically reduced by simply having different structures other than intersections such as roundabouts.
I wish you had a pre-owned motorcycle that I can get from you because this will be my first time learning how to ride a motorcycle 🏍️
To be fair, the statistics regarding I-95 in Jacksonville and Brevard County can be misinterpreted to suggest that traffic conditions are more dangerous, rather there are more miles of 95 traversing these areas than most other cities and counties in Florida. Jacksonville essentially occupies the entirety of Duval County. Its stretch of 95 is about 30 miles long; easily the longest within a single city in Florida. I-95 in Brevard County is over 70 miles long, the longest stretch within any Florida county. The length of these portions of 95 in these locations in Florida skew the statistics based on sample size.
Also, as mentioned elsewhere in the comments, Florida has helmet optional laws allowing riders who qualify to ride without a helmet, but mandatory requirement for all other riders.
Doodle Florida has more cops than anywhere.
Now I want to go ride those roads
Especially the 29,000 feet high one.
LOL!!
You sounds good in Spanish 👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
What about the people who build the roads we always forget about those workers.
Oh no! You would have got a question wrong on the MSF test in Florida. Florida does in fact have a helmet law.
316.211 Equipment for motorcycle and moped riders.-
(1) A person may not operate or ride upon a motorcycle unless the person is properly wearing protective headgear securely fastened upon his or her head which complies with Federal Motorcycle Vehicle Safety Standard 218 promulgated by the United States Department of Transportation
I95 does not surprise me given the driving ive seen on it.
As an adult man would you recommend starting my riding experience with a scooter ? What would you recommend ? I’m 6ft 230 plus pounds. Thanks
Correction Doodle, Florida does have a helmet law. All riders under 21 must wear a helmet. Over 21 must have $10,000 in medical insurance coverage in order to ride without a helmet otherwise a helmet is mandatory.
🤗😁 , Try AreKa Eky~Que* (*this second syllable think of "Queque" (Nice for breakfast 😁) using only the first syllable of this world the first syllable of (Iqui-que) (E-Ky)-que, that's hard one to translate phonetically, hope to have help you , like what you R putting out , keep it up , many blessings 🙏 2U & fam.👍😎🤙
💯‼️💙
You have the world's greatest hair! 🥰
Fun fact: her hair is 29,000 feet long.
I wondered when somebody would mention she got a perm!
@@alexcallas8222 Those are natural curls; she uses a hair straightener in many of her trip videos.
First comment Hwy 60 in Florida that goes coast to coast is known for it high speed idiots. Most of it has been four lane but the section that is still two lane is a nightmare at times. I have been almost hit head on there many times and ran off the road a couple of times and that was in a semi truck. I don't ride it on my bike as the risk is to great. The two lane only covers 25 miles and has only three passing zones but a slow moving vehicle makes people go insane and will pass a string of vehicles just to be number one. I don't the numbers but most accidents result in death or serious injury. The stretch of road is isolated and hard to get emergency vehicles to a accident. Once you pass into that stretch and the road is closed due to a accident you may have a long wait. Going around may take as long as setting in traffic that's why this road is so busy popular. It also has dense fog and blinding rain. I be leave this stretch has the name blood alley. The 25 mile stretch is between Hwy 60 E in Polk County (River Ranch area) and SR 441 Yeehaw Junction in Osceola County.
Nopenopenopenope 😂
The Marjory of us will never get to visit and ride these places, but I see that as a good thing😂✌️
The what?
Pot holes on my street doesn’t seem so bad anymore
"Road of Bones" -- Doodle, hate to be that guy but you're using World War2 photos of German's and their Prisoners of War, and what looks to be a German WW2 Work camp. it is probable that the other pictures are period correct though. Just a little correction, still love your videos.
Highways are named for the speed???
Been on the tail of the dragon a few times and have watched countless videos of riders who believe they are moto gp racers. Be it two or four wheels makes no difference their complete lack of respect for the road the law or other people is amazing! "save it for the track" perhaps they don't because most tracks have you either sign a waver or want you to be able to prove you have the talent to be out there in the first place which many fail at. Everyone wants to be a maxwrist and he aint that great of an example as a responsible motorcyclist.
Some of that footage gives me the chills. I hope your mom doesn't watch this video!
👍👍👏
Про дорогу в России немного все преувеличено и фотографии с немецкими солдатами не к месту.. А так Спасибо за видео!
One more thing! You're one of a handful of influencers that give me hope and optimism to carry on riding and to live life in general! I realize these are parasocial relationships, but the people behind the channels are compassionate and empathetic, even if they might be AI chatbots! Just kidding, but you never know, right!?!? Bye again until next time!
29k feet is the height of Mt Everest.....so, um, I think your numbers are wrong.
Regarding Flying Eyes... I would pay for a pair of these, and too, as a woman with a small and narrow face, even their so-called 'narrow' frame sizes are 59mm and above. That's huge!!! If they were to make just two frames in petite sizing (48 - 52mm lens widths for aviator styles and 53-55mm for sport frames), they would sell. They might not be their best sellers, but they would cater to customers who already struggle to find frames that fit.
We all know most aviators and motorcyclists are men, and too, it will always be that way if we don't make safety gear up to par for women. (I'm looking at you, here, jacket and boot makers, where jackets seldom have CE2 armor and there is an utter lack of high-end race boots in women's euro sizing). I finally found the sporty Dainese touring boot to suit my needs, and too, it would be nice of they offered size options for their boots with metal sliders. Am I the only woman rider frustrated by this?
I know its kool to ride with out a helmet ⛑️
But
I think about my head hitting that rd. The air noise for hrs. The sun buring your face all day. A object hitting your face from a truck or car.
Im wearing my Helmet. If you dont like the helmet, there are many style to choose from that will make u look kool while driving
Wear a helmet ⛑️
