This is METALHEAD POLITICS, a new podcast about music, politics, and Taiwan - hosted by Freddy Lim of Chthonic and Emily Y. Wu of Ghost Island Media.🎙
It’s been tough for Chthonic to get back on their world tours since frontman Freddy got elected to the Taiwanese parliament four years ago. But look, no one’s going anywhere now anyways #stayathome - so here we are. 🤘
This is a highlight reel for the first episode, “Democracy (in times of crisis) / Supreme Pain for the Tyrant”. Check out links below to hear the full episode in all its glory. Search for METALHEAD POLITICS in all your podcasting apps, or via the links below:

So glad to see this! 台灣獨立!
2:00 A century ago a similar sort of thing was done here in Wales for pupils caught speaking Welsh in class rather than the state-sanctioned English. It was called the Welsh-Not and was a wooden plaque hung around a child's neck. Crazy to think that was being done not so long ago in Taiwan..
(Would love to visit Taiwan one day. King Hu's A Touch of Zen was one of my favourite movies in my teens ;) )
💪🇹🇼
Very interesting learning about this band. I lived in Taiwan for many years. Now I'm in Florida but have considered moving back. There is always the threat of China invading but I see a big problem that guns are basically forbidden in Taiwan. How can the people stand up to tyranny with no form of self-defense? Tyranny does not only come from foreign lands like China but can also come from power-hungry politicians in your own country.
原來林昶佐的英文有這麼流利…👍
How often are having episodes?
拜託,12月一定要再次登台
我以為左邊的是鄭秀聞,嚇我一跳
Freddy’s English is unarguably fluent.
I think the message of independence would resonate very well with an american audience if we gave metal more airtime
🤘🇺🇸
Fuck US, You should come to Europe. You have so many people from Europe that actually are real fans!!! Come to Europe guys, and do more Acoustic versions of your songs. I bought your albums and paid for the delivery like 50 times the price of the album. I believe you should come to Germany, Romania, Poland and other Europe Countries. You have no idea how much we respect you guys!!!! With all the love and repect from Romania. Grecu!!!
It's completely unfair that Taiwan is not recognize by UN, I wish Brasil would follow Paraguay's path and recognize Taiwan's independence.
