Nothing else sounds so Fragile-like, like these Deviations. Trent has left this type of sound since 1999. "The Fragile" should be a music genre of it's own.
When I felt I was dying (or dead already) this piece popped up and I blasted it into my headphones for hours and hours. Trent Reznor’s instrumental here can be taken as the arc or narrative of an entire lifetime (anyone’s, or certainly someone’s… many people’s). If my death were to occur today with some warning, I’d combine listening to this with ARVO PART’s FRATRES, and some J.S. Bach. QUITE LOUD FOR ALL. … Trent Reznor is not quite their equal perhaps but he is way up there among composers: TRENT REZNOR is a composing “genius,” it’s not too much to say.
The drums sound like Terrible Lie at first. But really, this sounds like Dig It by Skinny Puppy way more than Down in It (which Trent had been accused of ripping off). Either way, great song, I just think it’s funny, especially given the song title. I like both bands of course, but NIN is my favorite of all time, hands down. EDIT: ua-cam.com/video/qV4D9vZvDKE/v-deo.html “Dig It” - Skinny Puppy
@@ground5295I know he said that but I never heard it the way others did. If anything Terrible Lie always sounded more like a song that ripped off early (like pre-VIVISECTVI/TDP era) Skinny Puppy than Down in It
The only reason I think Spiral is objectively better than The Fragile is because of Starfuckers. The Fragile is my favorite above Spiral but replacing that song with this one would’ve made this his Magnum Opus
kinda feels more in line with current trent not 1999 trent. It almost takes me out of it then it stops lol. The entire album is good for gems like these that should have been on the album, i hope there is more and he brings out a complete edition even if this is still just Instrumental. But he needs to not clean it up so much and add current trent shit.
@@brokenhalo2001 I feel like he probably had lyrics for this song rather than a instrumental created so he just based it off of the lyrics with his current style while the rest of the new tracks already existed. Fun Fact though, it seems alot of the missing lyrics from these tracks seem to be reused for hesitation marks so maybe we kind find the lyrics to this song like the community did for the song "Hello, Everything Is Not Okay"
This should have been on the album
Assuming run time is a factor, which track would you have omitted? Just curious.
@@GimmeJimmy23Even Deeper. This one really has that Pretty Hate Machine vibe. Even Deeper is good, but this probably could have been better.

This is another level of music.
right on!!! aha!
Jesus, this is something else.
The perfect music doesn't exi-
I can hear a bit of "The Big Come Down" in it.
I wouldn't be suprised if this was a very primitive version of The Big Come Down
Yeah for sure, hence why I love it so damn much.
Big Cure kinda synth thing going on here, which is probably why I love it so much. 🎹🙌
Up the speed to 1.25x. its ups the cure factor to Max.
It Was Worth It, It Was. (Absolutely)

This is like The Big Comedown and In Two from Hesitation Marks combined
love this!
This is the best Nine Inch Nails song I’ve ever heard in my entire life. It’s perfect.
Def Agree!🎶🔥🎶
not included in the album?!??!? yeah good idea Trent, keep all the good music to yourself >:(

When that extra percussion comes in near the end, oh lordy
Omg if he put lyrics to this it would be my favorite track
You gotta wonder if that version with lyrics exists on a hard drive somewhere in Trent's attic...
In a parallel universe it has lyrics
DAMN in 1.25x speed it Sounds kinda like a groove that coulda been on Pretty Hate Machine.
yesss lol

“Dig It” - Skinny Puppy
Reznor apparently admitted to ripping off Dig It, so I don't know if it's an accusation, per se.

I've read that all tracks that have "instrumental" in their title had lyrics at some point. Would love to read them at least.

Holy shit
Since loosing my brother to Fenton all every thing sounds like a great big void

Was there ever a version of this song with lyrics, or was it created purely as an instrumental?
I believe that will always be a mystery, unfortunately! I bet anything some lyrics were written for it, if not recorded.
Yes.

This is an instrumental version, We're In This Together has the same synths under but it's not as noticeable because it's mixed under Trent's voice.
