Is it possible the vampire fish suffered neurological damage from the blows to the head? I'm just spit balling here but seems once he's placed in his natural state, instinct kicks in. Being held too long you said would make him swim away.....could that alsobe instinct...fight or flight? Either way I hope he can recover!!!!
