    Taya is such a great representative of Ukraine!

    I like the guys answer in the end. No one realizes just how much of an effect you can have on someone else nearby. I suppose I am a bit like him. Where it makes me sad seeing how people are so gloomy all the time. I do like when people put a smile when you see them. It's not much but it goes a long way for someone else. I sympathize with what he says., its unfortunate, but not so many people are as welcoming.
    All it starts with , is one person to make a change and it begins from there!. The same way, when you drop a peddle in a sea, it creates waves. Great video Taya! I hope we get more questions! do you accept requests? if so, can you ask, "Whats more important, making a living(As in, focus primarily on making money), or learning how to live life?"

      He admitted right, I often hear it from foreigners that we look sad and angry like mafia.
      Thanks for the idea)

      I assumed everyone everywhere was like this, it's how we are in New England and NYC hahaha. Oops. Miserable goofs.

      How a little kindness, can make your day.
      I had the strangest thing, two years ago. In the USA. I was travelling, through NYC, the Grand Central Station . I was struggling with my luggage, up the stairs. People just JUMPED IN, to help me.
      In NYC??? Maybe they saw I had a bad leg (just finished some surgery, in the few weeks before).
      But, you know in that city? In the busiest part? I was getting more friendly help, than in my home town. And I mean even from 'friends' in that home town. (yes, also, home in USA)

      I believe it. Demographics have changed in the Northeast. We still look gloomy up here, but we're actually a lot nicer than we used to be. People came into the cities from outside of the cities and they're a lot nicer now. It's very different from even as recently as the early 2000s.

    the last guy said "because of the way we treat each other, our standard of living is lower." I'm thinking it's more like - because the country (Ukraine) is being economically sabotaged and ripped off, people are less likely to care about other people, and less likely to be overly cheerful to strangers.

    The last guy was so right. When I was in the subway in Kiev, the environment was so sad. I didn't see any happy face. Nobody smile. I only saw worried, sad, and angry faces. HOWEVER, when they are surrounded by close friends are different. They are so friendly, happy, and helpful.
    I think a happy or quiet attitude should be fine to begin a nice day. The way you behave is reciprocal with your day. 😊

    It would be interesting, Taya, if you could ask this question in your travels around Ukraine to other parts, especially less populated areas (I don't necessarily mean your Село, although that would still be interesting, but maybe a city like Poltava, or Kremenchuk, or Zhytomyr, wherever you might be at the time.

    • @TayaUkraine
      @TayaUkraine  6 років тому

      That would be nice if I had reasons to go somewhere :)

    • @AodhanBulger
      @AodhanBulger 6 років тому

      Exactly. I watched a documentary program on Zhytomyr prison that showed the guards talking about how little they are paid compared to police and how they can't recruit new guards, can't take vacations, etc. Also, prisoners there can't be forced to work like Ukraine used to force them because Ukraine now is complying with EU standards in the hope of joining the EU, and prisoners at this prison now just laze about and do what they want and "it's like a kindergarten" in the eyes of most of the prisoners lol. It's kind of amazing the freedom they have given the unspoken brutality of the place. And the prison also spends only 60 US cents a day on food for the prisoners... So they all have no energy, and their food is disgusting and can barely be called food. It's like bone, and salt water, not even meat and soup.

    fascinating how eastern Europeans see societies problems as an issue of introspection. Many of the people in this video said that changing the attitudes and actions of ones self was the key step to solving their countries problems. I guess their history of war and communism makes them more introspective, since the self is the only thing they feel they have the power to affect.

    I believe no country is Perfect & it has some or the other problems. But having said that the Scandinavian, Nordic have set us an example of being sustainable and progressive together. Coming from India which has been developing leaps and bounds also being one of the largest economies it faces Corruption, Jobs Security, Food Security etc. But I am also Optimistic that humans have the potential to change this if they work in coexistence throwing away all the prejudices. All my wishes for Ukraine. One issue I personally feel is the condition of Women in Ukraine you would know better Taya. Some of them are forced into Prostitution abroad while luring them for Modelling Career. Really Sadening ;(

    Very interesting about the guy talking about smile and be nice to others right from the start . I
    wish more people could do that...every video I have seen of yours people are clean dressed nice and for the most part are happy . I am seeing less and less of that in USA where I am from all I see lately is more and more of society going down hill less culture and protests just for them to be heard......but I listen and they really have nothing to accomplish just want to protest.

    Although the last guy is right and people in the Ukraine (and Eastern Europe in general) in fact do appear more closed than Western Europeans, I still never felt unwelcome in the Ukraine. It also depends on how you yourself treat and approach them :-)

    I think Ukraine is the fastest developing CIS-country.
    Problems with politicians are everywhere, also in Western Europe.
    Ukraine can be happy they have such a good vlogger/teacher/tourguide.
    If i was the Ministry of Tourism of Ukraine I should reward you for your work.
    I wish other countries had a Taya too :-)

    I don't think the guys haven't much to dislike about Ukraine, apart from the economy and the infrastructure. They have gorgeous feminin women. Joining the EU in future would be a nightmare for the country. I don't think the last guy in the video ever been to Paris or London to witness how miserable people are.
