It’s a bit of a cliché, but the thought of ranking in the @DJMag Top 100 for twenty years in a row never even crossed my mind when I was first included in the Top 100 about twenty years ago, not even as a bucket list wish. I'm proud to be Highest Trance DJ and #4 again and I’m of course thankful for the fact that I’m still here doing what I love after all this time, but above all else, I’m beyond grateful for the unwavering support from my fans. The way I see it, this is as much their achievement as it is mine. Maybe even more so.
Last but not least, a big shout out to Mr. @davidguetta. Congratulations on winning the DJ Mag Top 100 of 2020. Thank you for your positivity, friendship, support and keep bringing us great music!

This is a man who loves what he does! Even if people can't show up in person, he still does his thing because he genuinely loves it. I'm a 49 year old male in the US and I can't say enough about how much I appreciate Armin and the level of art, creativity, passion and performance he brings to this genre of music. Damn! this is one of Armin's best sets in a while. After 15 years of following this guy i can tell when he genuinely enjoys his set (spoiler: when he lets go of the commercial attachments of EDM and mainstream festival crowds)
Gotta do what the crowd wants, I guess. He can't just play Trance on every single stage.
@@Kimtu241294 Yeap, I completely agree. And I definitely don't blame him for that, he is an entertainer after all. Besides selecting the right tracks and beatmatching, a DJ must be able to read the crowd, I've made my peace with the fact that he is not a full-time trance DJ and I've learnt to enjoy these rare but wholesome sets.
I think there should be a difference between the term EDM and trance, what do you think?
Those who want to be a part of all those EDM beats which only thumps and gives u noises versus those who want to just be there and enjoy live trance ,The classic trance for that matter should have a show setup separately. I think Armin should be the only DJ to be counted for the one who plays classic trance.
@Rik 20 Yes I knew , but just to place it in a more better subtle form of music away from the thumping beats, that's what I feel, could be called as a whole new different type. Cause everyone thinks one who liked trance likes all the thumping and noisy beats, which is infact not true. Trance chooses for a softer transition of melodies, as opposed to other forms of music like techno and house beats.

I accept that I hate balance and the stuff he's making in recent memory. But, but, but
How can I ever, ever forget the memories his Intense album has given me?
Intense, embrace, ping ping, Orbion and specially Gaia (everything), blue fear, embargo? These tracks are Timeless and I can never forget them. No matter how much trash he makes now.
I commented like that just as a feedback to get him back on his roots, not that I hate him. I hope he reads them to make that kind of stuff again.
So, yeah Armin is the only King for me and there's no way it will change 😉😉😊

If you are relating this recent stuff to the Mirage, Intense stuff then you're mistaken, it's not, and Armin himself has said that this is different in balance special episode. It is different and that's fine, but most artists over time, lose touch of their roots and change their signature sounds completely either for the worst or best.
Its not just about trance. His sounds of mirage, intense, and even old skool ep were gr8 but now he makes just normal music. Just like the trend is going on...
what sperated him from the others was his emotional, deep tunes that people could connect to from Inside... Tracks that gave goosebumps.

ill say armin van buuren is the hardest working dj of all time, nobody has put in more work than him , yes there were other dj's out there with bigger gig schedules and with equally great radio shows, but armin has stayed the most consistent , has a radio show that is reaching 1000 episodes, he makes a yearmix everywhere, releases have not slowed down, always enhances his live shows , i never seen him take a break , if he does its very short, so thank you armin, because i know one day this will be all over, but for now we are literally witnessing greatness.

Recuerda que la DJ Mag no califica quien es mejor, sino quien es el más "popular" dentro de lo que cabe. Así que, bien por Guetta, pero la lista no define quién es mejor que otro.

Армин наконец классно зажег. Я как его старый фанат все его 8 DVD с ASOT 500 собрал! Но сейчас он пытается всем нравиться и много монотонной bpm 138 выдает, что уже не вставляет. Но сейчас на DJ 100 он красавец! Тебе настроения и драйва🎉💝👋
