It;s a strange sport in the sense that, these guys are competing against each other, but they are like brothers, bound together through the danger of the whole thing, and knowing that one wrong move could really be all she wrote. Nothing but respect for these lads - seriously amazing skill and insane levels of courage.
Mountain biking has most certainly evolved from when I started riding 25 years ago. Bikes back then could not even had a chance to do what these guys do now! Absolutely amazing! Also I remember going to Moab back then when Moab was not on the map. Could get a motel to crash in for $29 bucks a night and ride hard on the trails for days without breaking the bank. Kind of miss those days. Anyhow these new athletes are super awesome to watch!!! Mind blowing the lines they can ride now!
they are, they visit they camp out they travel eat and share their lives, they're part of a group that wants to push the sports even though they compete the biggest competitors are themselves and their own ability to reach that next goal, they thrive off each others accomplishments, i did downhill and surfing your biggest threat is your own mind.
Tom just attempted a front flip on one of the scariest jumps in downhill history! He deserves some huuuuuge respect, I don't want to be mean or anything, Andreus run was awesome, but I don't think he had the coolset run
Paul Hogan True but they weren't just 'a slightly bit slower', Lacondeguy killed it and had to scrub the jumps so hard not to overshoot so he was going a lot faster
I love the comradre. Genuinely can tell these guys don't wanna see each other get hurt and perform their best. This is why I'm falling in love more and more with this sport. I grew up in South Texas where there's zero mountains. So boxing and football were always my main sports of choice. But ever since I saw my first rampage competition I've been addicted ever since.I'm extremely late to the MTB party but hey at least I'm here now 🤘
i am a hardcore road cyclist, time trials, road races etc and we like to think we have killer bike skills but these guys are fucking superheroes !! vicariously i dream this stuff. it must feel amazing to pull this off. my hat is off in complete respect !
IF these guys make it through the runs the winners get paid big $ from Red Bull, if they smash themselves into the side of a rock hill they get sent home in a body cast. What a nice gig.
By far, the X games, Red bull, Nitro circus, Metal Mullisha type guys get all my respect. Any clown with a ball can play football or basketball. Everytime these boys go out, death is truly on the line. They are all super chill, down to earth kids too. If I had it my way I would take the millions from the NFL cry babies and give it to men who can back flick a freaking motorcycle, or a wheel chair over huge ramps. I recognize talent gentlemen. Thanks for all you do!
Smart enough sir, to make money not putting my physical health in jeopardy for the entertainment of others. I am 6'4" bout 255 as of now. Wouldn't have a problem cracking heads. I played football, I would never backflip a motorcycle though. And I take is sir, you are one of those clowns. Enjoy your cream pies and Seltzer water! Much respect to X-games.
you have the body but not the talent. to say that nfl players dont have talent is to say any knucklehead with the size to fit can compete at the physical level that the nfl players do. you try running 4.8 at that size, block aggresively quick and strong defensive linemen while being able to get down the field fast enough to make key blocks for the running back. it may be dangerous but arent the nitro circus people etc. also at a close equal to the damage the nfl players take?
Parabenizar a RedBull que sempre ta patrocinando essas competições de bike, mesmo não tendo um público grande eles ta sempre prestigiando esses guerreiros das duas rodas. Congratulate a RedBull that always sponsors these bike competitions, even if they don't have a large audience, they are always there honoring these two-wheeled warriors.

Bruce B, you don't understand one thing, these guys love what they are doing and they research for the adrenaline, RB gives the best hills so they ride those and they get money. Maybe my English is bad but i understand these guys and i probably ride those hills because DownHill is life!
As someone who feels super proud every time I successfully complete a blue square single track trail, I can’t even begin to describe how much respect I have for the ability of these athletes.
In the desert, the best time to ride is after a rain storm. No dust, the track is nice and tackey and you feel connected to the trail. That's been my experience riding in Phoenix.
Meanwhile the Red Bull billionaires in their comfy boardroom are smiling at next year's profit growth projections... they don't care about who won event y or z or how many injuries they suffered this season. The brand is KING. Most of you already forgot the names of the riders 2 minutes after seeing the video but their bodies will remember all the crashes & injuries when they hit fifty years old.
youbidoubidou You know they don't do this for the money right? I would do anything to just be able to ride everyday, don't give two shits about the cash.. It's like fynnieboy said, it's their passion

+Roland Peltier I actually just tried the oil last month. It's ok, but think I need a slightly stronger dose. So a buddy found a weed (Ratchet) that does not get you high, but works good for pain. coolness is subjective. Lacondeguy's run was objectively the best.
