I was watching the local news on those islands and they said 2004 hurricane Ivan hit them which turned out to be a very active year and it ended up in the golf Mexico and Pensacola, Florida, where I live

And that says a lot right there plus with the unusually warm or you could say hot gulf that hits that it it’s gonna just explode and if it stops anywhere, it’s gonna make it even worse.

Here in Northern Maine today we're looking at a slight risk of severe weather certainly could see a few severe thunderstorm warnings this afternoon and possibly a tornado warning. think that greatest risk could be south across interior Downeast Maine where the front moves through later in the day.
I don’t remember these tropical storms affecting the upper east coast in the 70s and 80s.. if there was a bad storm in the Caribbean it stayed isolated and dissipated. Now the area these storms cover is massive and goes on for days and miles.

We have friends that live in Aruba that are thinking of preparing even though it will be about 200 miles north of the ABC islands…. We spend the winter in Aruba and are concerned for all in the path! We were in Aruba when there was a Baby tsunami after a storm hit Barbados, about 7 years ago…. All of Palm beach area flooded from storm surge and a warning horn never sounded because Aruban people never pay attention to impending storms unless a tourist there in their phones tell them what’s happening!

Where did the storm suppressing Sahara dust disappear to? Out in the islands we experience heavy dust this time of year
It's there but the upper wind pattern is so favorable that the dry air from the dust isn't bothering this system.

Yeah I was looking at the sky and it looks like a late September day. We need a typhoon in the North Pacific like is in the Atlantic.

@@lisaoutinen8692 a lot of times when a typhoon comes into the North Pacific it changes the jet stream. Any change is good right now.

The title says “category 4 expected” not that it is one. And it is expected. It’s in the forecast.
@@MitchWestWeather yes there is now officially and it’s very scary! Currently in Barbados blue sky and you’d never know a hurricane was coming! We have friends that live in Aruba that are thinking of preparing even though it will be about 200 miles north of the ABC islands…. We spend the winter in Aruba and are concerned for all in the path! We were in Aruba when there was a Baby tsunami after a storm hit Barbados, about 7 years ago…. All of Palm beach area flooded from storm surge and a warning horn never sounded because Aruban people never pay attention to impending storms unless a tourist there in their phones tell them what’s happening!
