THIS IS A GODSEND FOR US WORKING WITH HAIR.
Ctrl + Alt then dragging only makes a duplicate that I'm dragging around. How do you make your brush change like that???
Thank you so much for these quick and useful tutorials!
Thank for posting this I have been dealing with this issue for years and it's always painstaking. This method sure does make it easier.
Ctrl + Alt + drag creates a duplicate of that selected layer...
Best tutorial for for hair. Quick & Easy. Thank You.
Great Job, Thank You in helping us figure out features which are awesome.
Thanks for the video. I always hated selecting hair.
Awesome technique. Simple and effective!
Finally a hair selection tutorial where the image background isn't absolutely perfect.
It works with just Alt + (hold and drag) Right mouse button
Nevermind, that works only for brush:)
Thanks for the tutorial. This is my pet hate in Photoshop (no pun intended). I have watched other tutorials, using channels and masks etc, but that just made my brain hurt. The easier the better for me, and this is as simple as it gets!
Welcome to insanity!
Thank you guys for making these videos. They are incredibly helpful and well done. Personal, yet professional.
I love this channel/ It has helped me Alot in my personal development.
WOW! This is a great method, and I had no idea the algorithm 'learned' from the order you did things.
Combined with Blend If, this feels like a new Content Aware Fill.
only alt + rightclick and drag for changing size and hardness of the brush
also the final mask could be better
Excuse me, your videos are so great! May i translate them into Chinese to let more people understand them?
hmmmm wow additional learning from photoshop.. thank you dude...
This is very helpful! Thanks a lot, Adobe! Btw, nice MacBook Pro :D
Thanks a lot. This is very useful tool to get better complex hair selection. :)
In the Swedish version of Photoshop don’t the shortcut key work to change the size of the brush.
Very nice! Thanks for the video!
*The real MVP!!*
DO you have an updated version of this video? I cannot find the "Refined Edge" tab.
I have the same problem.
That was as you might say a 'nightmare' to make a hair selection, but now with this tip it seems to be preatty easy!... I'm gonna prove it! :)
your videos do helps a lot.
thanks!
Thnx a lot it helped me a lot wid dis vdo...
for fine hair selections i use Edge detection or Calculations
Catalin Gales what's that?

Awesome!!
PLEASE tell me how to fix my lighting effects in CC...
graphics driver problm...
I fixed it xD
dope tut.
He fails to mention that it is Ctl + Alt + Right Click, not left.
LIFE SAVER
great video i love it
This tool is really hit or miss, and you'll want to make sure you're using it with an image that has well defined differences between your subject and the background.
Thank you!
Changing hardness of brush doesn't seem to work in cs4.
This doesn't seem to work with high res hair images.
why would resolution matter?
Not sure why, but it didn't for me.
Awesome
excellent
Yeah, that worked well because the bottom part of the cat intersected with an almost pure black blanket. It doesn't work that well when your background is more complicated.
Mask & Select Color Range :) Unmatched.
before click to Refine Edge go to the menu Selection > press MAIUS and click on Refine Edge and see what's happend. Cheers
Dario Mirisciotti what happens??
Thats as old as photoshop show the world some thing we don't know all ready :P
ya! nice!
great
Top 10
I'm pretty sure Photoshop already showed us this video.
2:05 purrfect get it
muy bueno pero me gustaría que se escuche en español o subtitulos en español gracias
I know I wont remember this when I need it :(
Спасибо
good
This tool does not really do the best job in the world, it's adequate for some work flows, but I prefer using channel masks and then modifying it with layer masks.
For those having problems with the Ctl + Alt +drag, make sure you're using the correct tool: If you have the move tool selected, you'll duplicate the layer. If you have the quick select tool, brush tool, eraser tool (anything that uses the brush engine) Ctrl + Alt + drag will change the size and hardness of your brush.
Happy Photoshopping! :D
Can't afford it - flying to the USA and back is cheaper. /Australian.
