I haven't listened to this album since high school, and I'm in tears right now at how it instantly transported me to a time where I had just got my license and would cruise with the homies thumping this shit in my 1988 Accord. I just now realized how important this album was to a particular time in my life that I hold so dear.

This song blew my mind when it dropped. I've been down with the clown since 95 or 96 but up until this drop, I knew it was about family but this is when they changed it up and brought god into their songs more and more after this song.
ICP has a ton of bass-heavy songs. That was one of the reasons I loved them and Too short back in the day. In 96 I had a truck with four 15" Rockford Fosgate subs.
ICP is who I listen to when I'm not trying to hear EM or Tech N9ne bars but want off the wall just good hype music to crank up

A lot of people miss the part that they're the good guys in the songs. Sure they talk about killing, but the targets are criminals, abusers, scumbags. I was there when they performed this in concert some 19 years ago at The Grove in Anaheim, CA and the vibe was untouchable. I can still see picture it.

I've been listening to ICP since Tunnel of Love came out and by the time I had full listened to Great Milenko and the rest of their back catalog, I already knew this. Anybody that called themselves a juggalo that was surprised by the revelations in this song never really listened to their music. If you really listened, you knew it. Like Violent J says, the hints were there all along although most never picked up on em.
It's always cool to see people that are hearing ICP for the first time or maybe just haven't listened to them enough, but to see them enjoying it and kind of understanding it. I'll be 50 in 2 years and I've been a juggalo since 95. And this guy is right, this song is totally a juggalo anthem. And just in case he didn't find out info about this song but all the stuff near the end of it are snippets from other ICP songs.

When this came out, I was 16 years old. Fighting, stealing, just overall being a horrific kid and human being. I fucking love(d) ICP & couldn't wait for this to drop.
This shit changed everything for me. My mom & me both got baptized again, just to cleanse ourselves and start new. This shit launched everything for me. I went from saying fuck school and dropping out to actually fuckin graduating bro. And I damn near made honor roll too.
I'm 35 years old shedding a tear listening to this.
Crazy thing is I've been down since 2001 and this was the second album I ever heard from them I found the message real early and no matter how many times I listen to this song I get goosebumps and want to cry tears of joy

It's hard to put into words how much hype there was to hear this track (and this album in general) back then, I don't know of anything else like it in music. I admit, I wasn't into the reveal, it was pretty obvious, but it was still a huge moment.

you spoke about this being an anthem... just about every last song on each album is significantly longer. this is so when they tour, they have a long ass song to finish out a show, while throwing faygo bottles in the crowd.

I'm not sure if it was a mistake saying the G word, God. That's really what freaked everyone out and sent half the fan base packing.
But ninjas like me, who knew that J & Shaggy weren't literally killing folks or working for a Dark Carnival. Those of us who were smart enough to pick up the hints along the way, and there were tons, ya kinda saw the foreshadowing for years.
But like, if you expected the world to end on Nov 5, 2002, homie that's on you. Look at the cover art, look at the artwork & booklet for The Wraith. I knew it was God, I just needed them to say it.
And it's not even God or a God thing, or religious thing. That's where I feel Alex Abyss (manager) could've circumvented that answer with the quickness and saved lots of confusion. There's still people out there who think ICP is some Christian rock band now and it's like, no 🤦
Imagine Alex or J & Shaggy for that matter, giving a short, quick response every time they got the God question. This is our message; do the right things in life, help your fellow man, live a righteous life to the best of your ability. Because we do believe in an afterlife & we wanna see y'all there. But ICP kinda gave long winded answers to explain, which furthered confusion.
You've gotta understand something about their gimmick. Every interview is very pro wrestling style, like they're cutting a promo. Instead of cutting a promo, put your Joe Bruce hat back on and explain things eloquently & from the heart. And he did, they said all that and more. Shit just got murky

Hated that album. They said when all 6 jokers cards (albums) drop “the end will consume us all” and then they dropped that happy go lucky bullshit as the 6th and final Jokers Card. Then followed that album with my favorite “Hell’s Pitt” witch was supposed to be a two parter to the 6th card. I own ever album in their catalog but I refused to own “The Wraith”. The Philosophy of those 6th cards didn’t add up to what that album had to say. The Wicked were supposed to pay and we got “sorry we tricked you” Hell’s Pitt is the only 6th Jokers Card to me.

This is honestly a terrible first ICP song to suggest. So much build up, so many references, all paid off at once but only for those who've been there. It's like telling someone to start the MCU at Infinity War. No new listener is gonna know about the butterfly or 17 much less the lore and mythos of the Joker's Cards.
