Axel Almer : Hey cheap knockoff! Folka Albark : What did you call me?! Axel Almer : I'm going to kick your ass! Folka Albark : Kishin Ken is invincible!
One of my favorite SRW themes ever~ That talk about taijutsu made me wonder... what kind of martial arts does Axel even use when he's fighting in Soulgain? I really wish I could see a mecha use piguaquan and bajiquan because that would be kind of badass.
***** Maybe it's a reference to how he's part of "Shadow-Mirror"? There's the whole darkness-based naming scheme going on, plus "dark knights" tend to be villains. The knight part probably comes from the fact Axel's actually got a code of honor, much like medieval knights did. ...Now I'm actually hoping we get to see the "OG world" equivalent of Shadow-Mirror Axel, still with his idiot personality. There has to be one out there (there's likely an OG Vindel, too).
+Kaidoku123 I just read his entire TVTropes article and it almost seems he changes into Ahoseru every time he turns around... XD I was just thinking it would be fun to see both our Axel and the OG-world Axel meet each other; though not as enemies like Kyosuke and Beowulf in the anime.
+Kaidoku123 Yeah, I actually find that kind of weird. I mean, all the OG world characters have Shadow Mirror equivalents since it's a parallel world. Ryusei's there (and Beowulf killed him), so it would be odd if Axel didn't have an OG equivalent. I was thinking that he could be out there somewhere, but just hasn't showed up yet. Or then he's already died in an Aerogater attack. ...Gilliam is probably the only character with no Shadow Mirror version. Well, him and Ingram.
@kiddfaz Taijustu literally translates as basically "art of hitting people", so yes, it's an actual thing in that it's a word for martial arts in general. Kobudo (ancient arts) is another word for the same thing (though it usually refers to martial arts in general older then the 1800's) and Kenpo (the Japanese translation of the general Chinese word for martial arts quanfa) are words too. It's just an extremely general term, like "punching style" basically.
*sigh* More lessons on Japanese from people who can't speak it. Taijutsu means "body skill", and is used as a blanket phrase for any physical combat technique at all, including single katas and forms. It's not per say a "martial art": it's like saying "punching" is a martial art, or "kicking" is a martial art. The word literally just means "doing something with your body" and is usually combat-related in context. EVERYTHING is taijutsu, which means nothing really is, if you want to narrow it.

@TheBType actually taijutsu is an actual thing. Any form of empty hand martial arts can be considered taijutsu: jujutsu, karate, judo, and aikido are forms of taijutsu.
@PhongChangster Beibur is disqualified from the hall of decent music on basis of his stupid name alone. It sounds like a damn baby shampoo or something.

It is also a Show! Axel and Soulgain appear in Super Robot Wars Original Genreration: The Inspector!
I fucking love this theme
Gba will always be legendary
I love Soulgain because so many of its moves are essentially pure taijutsu. That makes it extremely awesome.
And ArkGain looks even more badass.

I Literally Miss Super Robot But I Was Confused As Hell Which One SRW That Time
All I remember is the theme song Lamia and Axel, thank goodness I know that music is from Super Robot Advance
Because Lamia And Axel Only Appear In A Few Games, And Of Those SRW Games, SRW Advance Is The Most Similar To What I Remember
