Near the mid-game where you have loads of unsorted ingredients, it's a hassle to try craft potions or even make new improvements or variants to the potions you want to create. The filtering for the ingredients while brewing also doesn't help that much and some ingredients are useless to you especially in the early game because your cauldron isn't good enough.

    Love Potionomics. Honestly, my biggest tip is to figure out how to get the most interest earned from patience. Somehow I didn't realize this is less intuitive for some people. I see people not play Set Em Up because "they already have the effect" or because they want to save for a Reel Em In without realizing that Set Em Up gives the most interest per patience at 4/P in the early game, while Reel Em In sounds cool at 7 or 8, except you spend 2 Patience, effectively the same ratio except sometimes worse if you didn't play Set Em Up previously.

      @brianolsen5435 2 роки тому +10

      It's also worth noting, the potion often comes out better than listed, and when selling you get more due to haggling. So rather than 20 gold vs 30, you might be looking at 20 * (Perfect Brew +30%) * (Haggling +30%) = 34 gold vs 30 * (Perfect Brew +30%) * (Haggling +30%) = 51.

    You might want to research the dating simulator side of this game, just in case you get anything useful for the other parts of the game as a bonus reward. You know, like extra cards; cheaper ingredients; so on and so forth.

    33:53 calling it a bad game if you have to take risks is an interesting opinion. Randomness and uncertainty has often been a part of games, from card games that can give you unfavorable hands to dice games that are just as overt about their randomness. And Tyler has played plenty of games that have uncertainty, like wildfrost (uncertain card hands), or backpack hero (uncertain loot drops), or peglin (uncertain orb order/event randomness). It's interesting to see such a hard stance about something that (seemingly) hasnt bothered him before.

    Spoiler spacing
    Patrons will still buy your potion if the patience runs out, IF the action that exhausts their patience also fills up the last heart they have. This includes going negative, so with some careful planning, playing a high-cost, high-effect card last can pay off, if you totally sell them on the potion with it.

    It's pretty deeply impressive how much detail this game has to it. The cutesy graphics do benefit it as well. I do feel like it's a little bloated, though, and tries to be too many things at once. I have no objection against dating sims, but in this case it definitely feels like the odd genre out to put in here. Some of the mechanics of getting resources seem convoluted for the sake of adding playtime rather than actually enjoyable. But, this game does a lot of things right, and despite some flaws, just watching it has managed to hook me in at least somewhat. I hope to see more of it, and I will admit, I'm a sucker for deckbuilder games with outside mechanics contributing.

      Thought the same thing, so I checked the Wiki and yeah, quinn is non-binary. Hope Tyler sees this, but even if he does it will probably be a few episodes until he can switch since I think he records in advance.

    This game is busy in that it is hard to find a place to place your face. The lower left hand corner has a cute picture of how stressed your character is.

    This game seems conceptually interesting, but I have to wonder if it’s actually even hard enough to prevent you from just skipping the sale part altogether by ending the sale at the very start every time. If not then I feel like any strategic optimization would just be fluff in the end.

    It was irresponsible of Oswald not to get life insurance knowing that his debt was going onto his heir. That's really just not thoughtful, and kind of a dick move. ngl.

  • @slovakthrowback3738

    The way Tyler plays this game is really frustrating, I totally get it, but stress really isnt that big a deal at all, and it actually gives you better cards long term since youre incentivised to spend time with people and also get more money

    • @slovakthrowback3738
      @slovakthrowback3738 2 роки тому +1

      "If the game forces you to take risks, it fucking sucks" I dont agree with this at all, game design (in 95% of games) is supposed to make the player have fun, and in most cases, that means forcing them to make interesting, usually hard, or risky decision.
