$849 for this. Crazy eh? I'd rather buy the Sennheiser HD 800 headphones for around $1000.
No way!... just buy an ampeg combo or something for bass playes and you are done!... I have a lot of ampeg amps for my bass rig and when I conect them to a player... damn... not even a JBL will handle the lows and highs that way... today theres to much boutique involved in the tech that people lost a lot of the reason of why they are buying something...
If I had $1k dollars to spend, I'd pick the sennheiser headphones over these speakers shown in the video, that's for damn sure. Of course no one would ever buy a pair of cans in that price range (except some audiophiles). But if I had 1k and I had to pick either these speakers or the HD800 headphones, it'd be an easy win for the Sennheiser cans. I can get speakers that sound the same as the speakers shown in the video if not better for around $700-$750 less lmao

transparent Speaker with regular Drivers..
Don't know if it has been mentioned but the line out and L/stereo/R switch is so you can hook 2 of them up and use them as left and right speakers. Connect your audio source to one of the speaker's line in, connect it's line out to the other speaker's line in, and then set the switches to L and R as needed so they know what audio channel to play.

the L-stereo-R switch is for possibly using another "transparent speaker" for a left or right channel, and yes you would get more volume using 2, but the main purpose of it is that you can make a greater stereo seperation. instead of having the stereo image a foot wide, it could be 4,5,6,7 or however many feet you like your stereo image to be at for a more full experience

Aquarium : second hand 50 USD? Cheap-ish speakers : 2x 50 USD + 1x 75 USD woofer? Pre-amp, cover plate some elbow-grease. Don't think you'll get far under 300USD. Throw in some finish work and "not actually having to do a damn" and that price seems spot on :P

The L-Stereo-R switch and the line out are for using two of these speakers in a stereo setup. Audio into one, line out to the other, with one set to left and one set to right.
There's a good reason why speakers are made of wood...

I think they should have gone further, making the actual speakers transparent, and that big black box in there also transparent.
That's literally impossible. The reason this speaker id transparent is because the speaker is made of glass.
How is it impossible? Just use acrylic... It doesn't have to be glass, just transparent.

Also they could have turned the speakers in such a way they could have ran the wires around the edge of the case you would have hardly even see them.
I am quite sure there is some dampening material inside the back cases of those two satellite speakers or otherwise it would sound quite discolored. So the way to make the woofer's case transparent and the rest black is quite a good decision.
making transparent speaker baskets out of acrylic and a (milky) transparent cone out of Polypropylene would be possible, too but the result would not look as clean. There are many little problems that make it look imperfect, believe me. ;-)

No, 1 speaker mono, 2 speakers stereo (=L+R)
RTC Official it's got 2 fullrange drivers, so one will play L and the other R. So the 1 speaker plays in stereo.
Switching it to L or R will make the speaker play the selected channel to both its fullrange drivers. This way you can use them in pairs (or even more I guess) cause it wouldn't make sense to have 2 speakers, then have them both play both channels.
I mean, you'd be silly to spend 1400eur on a pair... But at least they give you the option.
RTC Official yes but the speaker has the 3 way switch , Left / Right / Stereo. The one speaker operates in stereo mode as it has 2 full range drivers. So Im right and you are close to right.

It won't sound great, because obviously it's got a small power amp (with no need to a heat-sink) and there are going to be all kinds of horrible reflections going on in that box, but it's cool..
