- To be fair, Franzy did warn me that the Integra needed some attention and that we haven't checked the oil in a while. Since we love this Integra db7 chassis so much as a daily driver, we decide to swap in another b18b1 as well as a rebuilt transmission!

90s civics and integras are so easy to work on. Engine swap in 1 day is cake, thats like a 3-4 hour job easy. We used to do engines and transmissions in the driveway all the time. Also gotta love lowered cars for the bounce 😅 i know im not the only one that noticed it...
To swap an engine in 1-2 days boggles my mind. Wish I had the skill set to pull off the same thing.
It's nice to see family and friends working together.
I hope to see the 'work truck' get a restoration someday.

Won't learn until you try, some cars are super easy, the newer stuff tend to be a tad more complicated.
b series is relatively easy. goto your local yard an learn to pull em, just dont disrespect the clunkers someone may need that quarter glass!

I follow him on instagram and remember seeing his story where around noon the car blew up, 3 it was home, 6 the engine was out lol. I bet if they would’ve had that gasket they’d have finished that day.
Removing an engine would take half a day if you have people to help.

be careful with the trans fluid you filled it with the nose of the car up. it should take 3-3.5 quarts so you might want to check it again

@@lifeintheboondocks7516 I forgot his was just rebuilt. But just draining it and putting new fluid in my trans only takes a little over 2. So your prolly right bone dry takes a little over 3

As long as 2 cylinders move it will keep going. I had a sr with a window from one rod and the other rod broke off the piston head... thing still made it down the block from my house to a friend's for a new engine. Miss my old g20... lol

Always waiting for more, you are so inspiring to me...I have a 99 Integra LS and I bought it about 6 months ago and have been putting my heart into it...hopefully I'll be ready to paint in 2-3 months...I've been doing a ton of body work and teaching myself to weld and even got it running on my own after it sat for 4 years. It's all worth it. Even the small stuff makes it worth it. You are super inspirational and I really appreciate you. I would love to see you in person one day. Also I'm definitely buying a shirt haha. For the next 90s honda swap you do it's much easier and faster to just disconnect outer tie rod and lower ball joint and you can leave the fork if your re- using same axles. Also using a leveler or seat belts with be easier to maneuver the motor and pitch transmission now and tilt it sideways in bay to get it out and you can do it with the half shaft on there, last piece of advice is before removing the distributor you can use a sharpie to mark a line from dizzy to cam cap.

As much as I love the Nissans being the main content, I absolutely love when the ole Hondas make their appearances! I had an integra back when I was 17 and this type of content makes me reminisce the good old Honda days haha.

I remember doing same day engine swap for my 240sx. Took out the single jingle for an Sr20det. I also did the swap when it was pouring heavy. Got soaked but I got it done.

I have had great success and peace of mind using a S2000 oil filter and regular non synthetic oil 5w30 either regular or high mileage. I noticed mobile 1 on my junkyard gsr burned off a lot and at times to the point very low oil. Changed to non synthetic 5w30... Didn't not have that issue.
Also cheap and easy to do change the pcv valve as well
And noticed you use mobile on the Sr20. Friend of mine uses 15w40 or 5w40 rottella to assist in surviving countless amount of hard driving limiter and 25 psi of boost lol

@@ThatMaximaKid close lol I'm going with the 4g69 out of a 9g Galant or 4g eclipse. Basically the same block as the 4g63 but bigger displacement and single cam with weaker internals. The factory block is good for up to about 300hp reliably (comes with about 160hp from the factory) and that would be plenty because it's going to be pretty much just a daily driver for the time being.

Been there several times with Dseries SOHC Vtecs I used to run in my 90 Si hatch and also once with a KA24E original engine in my 1st 240sx coupe b4 swapped in a S14 KA24DE. Boi how those windows open up in SOHC engines lol. This 1st time ive seen a Bseries with one 😮. Hella good vid on quick replacement! Just another maintenance item 😂
