Suleiman doesn't want to accept that Hürrem will die and tries to find a cure for her. Meanwhile, Lala Mustafa Pasha takes Selim's side and sets a trap for Bayezid. Bayezid loses his temper because of the letter he received from Lala Mustafa and wages battle against Selim. Signor Pedro offers Mihrimah to run away together. Rüstem loses his all faith for Mihrimah and gets close with Signora Mendes. Suleiman and Hürrem wrestle with their consciences in Bursa where they have gone fır finding a cure. While Suleiman taking the hardest test of his life in Mustafa's tomb, Hürrem asks for Mihrimah's blessing. Hürrem accepts the death and asks for a wish from Suleiman. This wish sets Suleiman's heart on fire.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Say what you want about Mahidevran, but she was right. Her son died on the altar of Suleiman's Sultanate. But it doesn't change the fact that it wasn't just a ruler executing a rebellious subject. It was a father who murdered his very own son and not even 5 centuries later, was the fact forgotten.

Did she tho?? I watched the episode where Hatice set Hurrem up and she was taken while trying to get to Selim recently and it dawned on me. Mahidevran knew what was going on, she also knew her son would be blamed and she did nothing to warn Mustafa. As a mother who loves her child I would’ve never let something like that happen, no matter how much so hated Hurrem. This caused a riff between father and son.

Hate Mahidevran but her performance in this latter part of the show is phenomenal. She is very convincing as a grieving mother who has lost everything and stopped caring about anything except keeping her son's memory alive.

I'm glad she finally realised the real culprit behind the death of her son. For once, she blamed the right person for her misfortunes. Since she has a penchant for blaming Hurrem for everything bad that happens to her. But this time, she rightfully placed the blame at the right door. Suleiman killed Mustafa to protect his throne due to his own insecurities. It had little to nothing to do with Hurrem. Yes, she benefitted from that decision to secure the lives of her children, but that doesn't make Hurrem the reason Mustafa died. Try as she may, she couldn't have been able to successfully manipulate Suleiman to kill Mustafa, if it wasn't something he wanted to do himself. But history tends to blame women for bad decisions men make. It's a shame.

It was Hurrem who first tried to kill Mustafa even before Mahidevran killed Mehmed. Hurrem sent Efsun Hatun to become Mustafa's favorite and she put poison in his food much before Mehmed was killed by Mahidevran. Mahidevran on the other hand once saved Mehmed from drowning in the pond in the palace gardens when he was a toddler.

The hate towards Mahidevran is unbelievable. She never killed nearly as many innocent people as Hurrem did and never called herself a saint. But this last thing is very difficult to be understandable by many people.

This is always one of the scenes I find difficult to watch. When Mustapha was executed, Mahidevran and Suleiman have not met for about thirty years. We are talking about Ottoman sultan and a discarded concubine. With hundreds of security details how did Mahidevran got near Suleiman? Fictionalised fiction
Mustapha's death was the start of a situation where weak sultans would follow and the downward slide would start for the great Ottoman empire.... Cursed man, Suleiman and cursed woman Hurrem.
Everything shown in this drama is perfect depiction of how harsh life is.

i believe mahidevran had some goodness in heart, but unfortunately it was clouded by feelings of jealousy and hatred that led to where she (and her son) was. honestly if she accepted that she was no longer the favored concubine and raised mustafa properly and quietly, she could’ve lived a good life

Mahidevran killed Mehmet to protect her son. Hurrem had to do the same. The rule was 1 concubine, 1 son. And the one who took the throne murdered his brothers. I don't think Mustafa would have killed his brothers. But Mahidevran would have killed them without him giving the order when the time came. Its hard to feel sorry for anyone when given the chance they would slaughter each other. Mehmet, mustafa and bayazid were the only decent people and look what it got them.

A) the only one who had the Sultanate, was Syleiman. Don't forget what Syleiman said to Ibrahim Pasha at episode 82, with English subtitles (I don't remember the minute): "there is the possibility to put yourself in danger, especially people like you and me, who have power in our hands".
B) Mahidevran said if it was worthy. The answer is no, because having land and property, these are temporary things, family remains together and never ends. As for ruling people and determine their fate, no one except God had rhe right to do these things.
C) Mahidevran DIDN'T kill Mehmet in real life, Prince Mehmet died by the deadly dicease called "plague", which had eliminated the 1/3 of global population at that era, Ayaz Mehmet Pasha had died witb the same way.
D) Mahidevran didn't kill Mustafa, Syleiman killed Mustafa and Hurrem with Rustem had made Syleiman kill him. Shouldn't blame Syleiman? Syleiman executed his son. Mahidevran said the truth at Syleiman, as she did always. What's so funny about this? Hurrem didn't say to Fatma Sultana (Syleiman's sister) at episode 124, that Prince Mustafa had been executed by the orders of Syleiman? So who should blame? She should blame the one sho gave the order, so she blamed the right person, who was actually the one who had relationship a long time ago, the person who gave her their son in the world, Sultan Syleiman. She said that Hurrem will poison their dynasty, that she will get rid of everyone and finally not only Mahidevran and Mustafa had been eliminated by Hurrem the snake, but Syleiman himself too had been eliminated by Hurrem, which means that Hurrem's love for Syleiman was a huge lie, otherwise she wouldn't say that she would made Syleiman her slave. Her intentions towards him weren't good.
E) Mahidevran said to him to ask for forgiveness from God, in order to forgive him, because he killed his son. Concerning about he was innocemt or not, I don't know if he was inmocemt or not, but however Mustafa was Syleiman's son and killing a son is a very huge sin, even if he was guilty.
F) Concerning Mahidevran's sins, Hurrem made a huge sin too: she putted herself between the relation of a father and a son. She did all of these plots, in order to have ger children safe, but being between a father and a son is a huge sin, so God took Cihangir, just like he took Mehmet from Syleiman and Hurrem, after Ibrahim's execution (Hatice got killed as well, she committed suicide, but God punished them with these deaths). As for Hurrem, at least had two more sons, Beyazid and Selim, Mahidevran was alone after Mustafa's execution, which means that she was a true hero, even and even bigger that Hurrem. Is it the same to have four children and the same to have only one? Losing two of four sons is cruel, I will not disagree, but having one son and losing him, this is very injust and means that you will never feel okay ever again, you will be dead completely. Mahidevran lived another 28 years, after Mustafa's execution, she died at the age of 81. When she lost her son, she was 53 (1553 - 1500 = 53). Hurrem had also Mihrimah, except Beyazid and Selim, Mahidevran had only Mustafa, which means that she was more unlucky than Hurrem (Hurrem had stolen everything from her).
G) It was Syleiman who had neglected Mahidevran from the beginning, this was Syleiman's biggest sin, because Mahidevran was Haseki Sultana and the Ottomab law at that era was saying that the Sultan of the Empire should not leave all alone her. Also, it was forbitten from the law for Sultans (Syleiman for example) to marry slaves, so Syleiman committed another sin too. The third sin that he committed was that Haseki Sultana who was the mother of the future Sultan of the empire (Mahidevran and Mustafa) had the right to be in charge at the Harem (after the death of Syleima's mother) and not one slave. His next sin was the execution order to his sons and especially he was responsible for Cihangir's death. Also, he killed his grand-children (Mustafa's son and Beyazid's sons). Then, he neglected Mahidevran, being with Hurrem all the time, he forgot that he was the Sultan, so that means that he should be by the side of all his subjects and his biggest sin was that he became tyrant, he shed innocent blood, blood of family, his own blood, he became cruel just like his father. He swore to himself that no one would been killed and he had swore the same promise to his sister Hatice Sultana, to his mother and to Ibrahim Pasha, so he swore the same promise to four people (to himself, to his mother, to Ibrahim and to Hatice), but he broke his promise, because he was coward and stupid in order to have it fulfilled, so this was also Syleiman's sin. I will not say about Hurrem's sins, because I will not finish untill tomorrow. As for Mahidevran, God gave her Mustafa, Syleiman killed him, so God rewarded her (if it may be a reward for a mother who lost a son) with longlife. But what can a mother if her son losses his life? Would be able to stand this pain? Thankfully, Mahidevran didn't die, until she saw the murderers of her son dying: first Hurrem died, who made Syleiman kill Mustafa (and Ibrahim with the same way), Rustem died (who made Syleiman kill Mustafa, in collaboration with Hurrem. He helped Hurrem to get rid of Ibrahim, with the same way that they got rid of Mustafa), then it was Syleiman's time, then Selim's and Nurbany's. Selim thought that his payment to Mahidevran was enough for the damage that he had done to her, when he became Sultan. Her son, Prince Mustafa died because of some hyenas and because of his father, who couldn't see the truth, who never interrogated about his son's possible betrayal and he killed him merciless. What kind of idiots were Syleiman and Selim? They thought that money would be a good consolation for Mahidevran. At least, Selim should be more friendly with Mustafa, after all they were brother (even if they were born from different mothers), Syleiman was crazy from the beginning and he ended up just like he had risen up. At last, the murderers had paid and the divine justice had been fulfilled.
Was it worthy Syleiman? The answer to this question is no. Absolutely no.

Mahidevran was the causes of her son's death. Now speaking like angel.. all problem started because of her stupidity. Mustafa always overpowered and adamant. That's y he died. In thus series they've shown Mustafa like hero. But he was the real traitor. I will never feel for him. Suleiman took right decision. Such a great sultan was shown like treacherous.. I really hate these last season. Everyone praises Mustafa like angel. Since everyone knows well he had never listened to his father since small age. His adamant got him killed. He is digger of his own grave like greedy Ibrahim
