- Sketchy Vert is notorious for skidding down the track from left to right - leaving black marks that look something like children’s scribbles. You better HOPE you don’t find yourself lined up against this drift-bird! Though he probably won’t hit you - you can definitely count on him scaring the absolutely SH*T out of you! It’s been a little while since we’ve featured Sketchy, and we’re pleased to say he’s changed things up A LOT! Moving from a Procharger set up to a twin-turbo set up - as well as switching from the T56 6-speed to an automatic. And WHAT DO YOU KNOW - He’s running 8’s!!!! Congrats Jared - can’t wait to see where the car takes you this year!

Thanks for making this video 1320. I really didn't want to change Sketchy to an auto, but after braking my very expensive built T56 Transmission and rear end parts, I had no choice. I couldn't afford it, unfortunately. I am happy with the results though. An 8 second pass was sure a shocker, especially with me getting out of it and hitting the brakes before the 1/4 mile due to not having a parachute. I will be adding a parachute this winter. I'm super excited to see what the car will actually do with a full pass.
Not like that track has the safest 1/4 and shut down. Huge balls to do it with no chute.
I was wondering why your trap was somewhat low for 8 seconds! This thing will definitely fly!

Sketchy Vert, No shame in going with an automatic, the auto helps you get the most out of your combination, that’s what it’s all about. The Vert is one bad sumbitch, I’ve enjoyed watching it for a long time, great job sir. 👍🏻 I hope a cage is among your future plans too! 😄
Faster, cheaper, more reliable it only makes sense...shame you swapped it out but the car is still great. Keep havin fun man.

Did anyone else notice sketchy verts father in law grabbing the e-brake like a "oh shit" handle?
Lol I noticed that also... Would have been horrible if he got scared and accidentally pulled it
look more like he was just trying to grab anything to hold himself steady because it looked like he was sliding around the seat.

he was sliding around the seat so i think he was just trying to hold him self still, plus at full throttle the engine would over power the e brake like it wasn't even pulled. try it nothing happens.
I'll be Frank I'm Leary about using my name you try it and post it I'll pass on that I've seen plenty of e brakes pulled at WOT didn't end well
my brakes went out in a old impala i pulled the e brake and the only thing that i noticed was some squeaking noise , using the trans to engine brake did way more then the parking brake. Sure if you whip the car sideways and pull the e brake it will fish tail but most parking brakes aren't strong enough to lock the wheel while moving , people frequently forget to release it and drive around with it on.
well ok in a fwd car it will turn bad quick, but in rwd cars the engine just overpowers the e brake.

Had a 2002 TA with ws6 package. It was a beast in its time period and one of my favorite body styles. Beautiful car.

I've watched sketchy vert for years, love the car, big respect for the driver. I know the car is faster with an auto, but the sketchy vert isn't so sketchy anymore.

I always loved this car. Would be a hell of a lot faster with big tires and auto but I love this so much cause it's a fun street car. Convertible, stick, and small tires with a back seat still. Great set up for some weekend fun with some friends on the track of street. Racing of just a little cruze. Always liked videos with sketchy

Agreed, the problem is putting down 1500hp in a standard. Takes a lot of money and a little luck to keep from blowing shit up. Nevermind clutches every couple weeks.
Hunter M I totally agree but blowing expensive parts up week after week got really old and I couldn't afford it so I switch to Auto man I miss banging gears but don't miss the reliability of the 6speed it was definitely hard on stuff especially when you're making 1200 hp and weight over 4000pounds lol
